From what I've gathered, Through the Breach is really campaignbased, what with the "all players have 5 pieces of their Fates, which all will be explored"-thing. That's all awesome, I will not deny that, but it presents a problem with demos. We in Finland gonna have our annual 'Con soon and I've been pondering (if I get the books somewhere), if I should take some Fate decks and go promo this awesome game. But, how should one build characters and what should I consider when doing a 1-session Through the Breach-scenario? (Did this with Wild Talents 2 years back and the onetime adventure sprang out a campaign, so the base setting will probably not be lost. )

Tim: Look, that rabbit's got a vicious streak a mile wide! It's a killer!

Also, the Nurse could give another +2 armour on top of Grave Spirit. Chiaki is an interesting choice for Condition removal, she could also remove Downers, I think. Nico can be hard to kill (no pun intended), but when something melee oriented comes to town (in my case 4 Sisters), he is toast. Zombie Fodder is a lifesaver (this time pun totally intended), and Clyde, I'd take it before Crowning if Nico needs to be kept alive. Especially w Avatar Fodder is awesome.

Nicodem and the Punks drew me into Malifaux faster than a Rotten Belle supported by Outta my way. Started with his box in 1,0, now some 60ss of Rezzers. ^^ Lynch and Collodi drew into NB. The Puppetmaster's just so awesome (not so much in 1,5, but in 2,0 too much goodness) and Lynch's so cool with the hat and pistol and gambling theme, also corruption and demons.

DMs might be better, ay. But the fact that I'm annoyed with is that if you want to use Glimpse to hide your own model in the beginning of the game, that means no Bete Noirê, no Killjoy, no DMs carrying stuff. I just think there should've been some differentiation between sources of burying.

Was gonna start a new topic about this but just gonna do like a Rezzer and reanimate. So, this just can't be right. Why on Malifaux would you ever use Death Marshalls with non-Avatar Tara if Pine Box negates Glimpse? Glimpse should imo say "if any models are buried with the Glimpse the Void-trigger" or something in that ways.

Not alchemist per se, as far as I know, but much of the Rezzers stuff can be related to alchemy (McM comes to mind). Started thinking about Rafkin, he might fit the bill. Out of curiosity, what'cha planning?

Aww, that's too bad. Some sort of Ghoultree or similar would've been awesome. Also, how about using the Malifaux Child instead of Ligeia? It has a healing ability (albeit a terrible one) and can copy stuff from Jack. Just a thought.

If you really feel the need for corpses, that your summoning fails without them, use the Avatar. But seriously, Strumpet's rundown on discussion page 2 sums it up real nicely. I haven't thought of the idea of Toshiro w. Corpse Bloat but it does make sense, what with the Zombie Warlord spawning lesser zombies. How about them Ashigarus? If you ever need something protecting Nico from melee (faced the four Sisters in my first 2E game and they pulled the full combo, by Odin's beard nothing more needs sayin), I'd say these are your minions. Also, if you got enough cards, they can wreak placement with (1) charges and Wall of Steel. Also, they are awesome. Noticed in my last game that Punks aren't always enough so keep an eye out for the University-stuff, and if facing Huggy, anything that has magics or Paralyze. Hmm, gotta try the Gaki, they seem like a good combination of Corpses and damage.

I played Jack for the first time two weeks ago, and he will be my first Outcast master,hands down. Used Ama and Hodgepodge as the only non-Tormenteds, Ama pretty much because Jaakuna and Drowned and the effigy because fog and the possibility for easy kills (at the time his manifest event targeted all enemies within 6"... How I miss that.). The Effigy was not that good vs. Freikorps but I felt it could have a use. Also, copying Share Guilt via Jack was an awesome way to perma-Torment someone. Other than that, comping with above. Jack Daw is so darkly disturbed it warms my Rezzer's heart. Oh by the way, what's this I've heard that Montresor would somehow be linked to a tree, of him being somesort of hanging tree or whatever? Anyone else heard anything like this?

What lack of synergy, if I may ask? Been playing Lynch since Storm of Shadows and in my eyes the theory of Lure+Traps could work.

I'd buy McM's and Nico's boxes and expand from there, aalthough Seamus's would be a good starting place w. Yan Lo's or Mollys. Atleast two masters, I chose McM and Nico because of the former's melee prowess and aggression and the latters summon and buffs, so that I have just the right tools. Seamus is fast and hits hard, the biggest problem w. his box is imo Sybelle, cannot stand the minis. Molly is another master to consider, debuffs and summons + RN go a long way, although one might wait for the plastics.

So OT, but Hateful Darkblack, where the blazes did you get that?

Offtopic a little: my second independent match in Malifaux ever was against Pandora 1E, before any erratas. And well, since then nothing feels difficult. Ontopic: yeah, in every game there are stuff that are difficult to deal with. But doesn't eg. spreading your forces help vs. Killjoy (assuming you have nothing else to counter with, eg. Hans, cheap screen, negalflips vs. attacking, Lilith etc)

What is this Dawn Serpent you speak of? Cannot find it anywhere. :/

How about if Jack himself casts it via the upgrade that has the Ca action that lets him copy (1)-spells from a Tormented? Safe to say it's permanent, as he might not cast it again?

Guild: LJ, Perdita, Sonnia, Lucius, Hoffman, McKabe, McMourning Rezzers: McMourning, Seamus, Nicodem, Kirai, Molly, Yan Lo, Tara Neverborn: Lilith, Pandora, Zoraida, Collodi, The Dreamer, Jacob Lynch, Lucius Arcanists: Rasputina, Ramos, Marcus, Colette, Kaeris, Mei Feng, Ironsides Outcasts: Leveticus, Victoria, von Schill, Tara, Jack Daw, Hamelin, ?? Ten Thunders: Misaki, J.Lynch, McKabe, Yan Lo, Mei Feng, Shenlong, Wong Gremlins: Som'er Teeth, Ophelia, Zoraida, Brewmaster, Uliz, Ma Tucket, Wong My question is: who is missing? I searched all my materials, and unless something escaped my notice, Outcasts have one less master. Otherwise, loving 2nd edition: Jack Daw came as a colossal surprise but must say a pleasant one.

I cannot get over the fact that Wyrd first made a single Redneck Gremlin with a crew of drunk gremlins and boars, then broadened the material with new minions and Henchmen. Then going into full faction mode with more Boars and mothers striking with huge spoons and... ... Including a freaking Luchador redneck!

Never heard of the piece but definitly gonna research it; seems interesting. Thanks. But, the list seems alittle strange... no room for other models? And also, doesn't Miss Pack use the rules for a Nurse? I mean that you have a lot of support but nothing real to support. How about taking a Belle to use as Amber? Or Bete as one of the others, replacing Rafkin?
