  1. Thse look lovely. Especially the emberling and Mei Feng.
  2. I will also be available for demo's, there's one player who's coming for a demo allready, so feel free to join in!
  3. Laminated mine as well. I usually don't mark the cards with markers, but use dice (left-over from games that use dice) to keep track of wounds.
  4. For me its finishing models, each painted to a slightly higher standard than the last. At the end of the day I want to play with fully painted crews as well, and this approach helps. I try to set a goal to try out specific techniques, and then concentrate on that for a specific model. Sure, I end up with models I might have painted to a higher standard, but that's where the load of unpainted models come in. There's enough to paint, and worse-case scenario I end up buying some new Malifaux models For example, for my fire gaming I concentrated on painting fire. The rest of the model is painted with my 'normal' painting level. For Kaeris I concentrated on thinning my paint better and doing more layers, etc.
  5. Again a bump. We will be running week 5 of Dead of Winter on saturday 16 feb. Week 6 for Dead of Winter will be held in Leiden at The Tafelridder. I will post up the event here soon!
  6. Had a productive weekend, and managed to paint the rest of the Kaeris crew. Kaeris. What I am happy about is the colour scheme - it really pops! The base is cool as well, although I don't think it comes out as great on the pictures. I don't like the orange cloak. It was a hell to get it to look as it is, but I wanted it even smoother. For the rest I am quite pleased, it's a step in the right direction to get my painting skills up. The gunsmiths turned out a bit dark. I like them, they make Kaeris stand out even more. I didn't want to give them orange cloaks as well, and couldn't think of something more original then grey cloaks They are very detailed models with some hard to paint details because they are so small. Now to decide what will be the next up to paint. Really want to have a go at Ramos, but still waiting for the bits to make the bases. Feedback and comments are more then welcome!
  7. Sorry for the late reply, missed your comment earlier. Here is the basis for my sheet. It's not mine, but from tye dead tau project (now malifaux blog): https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0AgETHSSrWLNYdEdSSE5URGdvTmlQNlI0d1BXNWZBLUE&usp=sharing ---------- Post added at 10:35 PM ---------- Previous post was at 10:27 PM ---------- As for the coals I used the same techniques I used for the rest of the model, but with different colours. First I gave the coals a good cover of the base colour, a fiery red. Then I watered down a bright orange and washed the coals, so the recesses had an orange glow. Then I worked up layers of red progressivey mixed with more black untill the final layer was a black gray. Look at it like reverse highlighting; with the lighter colours in the recesses, and darker colours on top/at the edges. I hope this makes sense
  8. Cool, I am painting my Kaeris crew at the moment as well. I like the blue/pink contrast. It's very strong. Do think the dark blue might be a bit too dark for my taste.
  9. Thanks for the kind words, Jasonfly! Been a while, but I got my hands on some more miniatures. Finally I am still waiting for stuff to arrive to do bases for my Ramos crew, and in the meantime I played a game with Kaeris and fell in love with her. Really like the burning token mechanism. Too bad that at the end of the turn all tokens are removed, and they only do max 1 wd or slow for all of them. Had an opponent with 3 tokens, and kinda expected them to either tick off one per turn, or have him get more dmg/more slow because he had more tokens. Anyways, I started painting the three fire gamin. Tried for a yellow/orange fire, with blue fire (butane fuelled?) for the bolts and some glowing coals at the bases. I am still no painting wonder, or good at fotography, but still proud of them, as I tried out different painting techniques.
  10. For 2014 I can make at least one Dutch team, maybe two. Not this year though. There's a small chance for one this year.
  11. Those look amazing! I like the contrast with the wooden floor. I's hard to paint white, but you did it very well!
  12. Those look awesome! You can grab your Colette crew and go make some mannequins now
  13. Welcome to the community! Malifaux is a wonderful game, and you will really enjoy yourself with those crews. I will leave the specifics regarding the setup/start to others who master the English language much better then myself, but I like to mention a selection of threads that helped me out when I started with Malifaux. One for each faction, talks about getting into the faction and what would be a good starting point. Obviously the Neverborn and Guild threads seem most appropriate: - Neverborn on a budget - Guild on a budget But there's also a thread for each of the other factions, just check Boshea's signature (that can be found in the threads I pointed out above). You already discovered the pullmyfinger wiki, which is a great help as well!
  14. My order just came in. I started out with the Arcanists on a budget suggested start, but decided to go for the Ramos box instead. Mostly because I love the Steamborg, and like the Ramos sculpt (but I love the alt as well ). I ended up getting all models at least half viable with Kaeris, Ramos and Mei Feng. So everything but Rasputina ice stuff and beasts. <3 BTW, I noticed that the spider swarms that come with the avatar and the Ramos box come with one 40mm base, and do not include 3 30mm bases for the spiderlings. Good thing I ordered some bases with them to make scrap counters, but it's worth noting that you need 9 extra 30mm bases to build spiderlings out of three swarms!
  15. I am also getting Ooran to inrease my options. Colette is a blast to play, and the replies so far are a really good start. Gotta love the duet!
  16. /bump We will be running the next Dead of Winter campaign day at the Alphen Games Guild 2 februari 2013! See you there!
  17. Very nice. Will really catch your eye on the table
  18. Looks very good! The Colette's look evil Nice paintjob, and wonderfull looking bases.
  19. Cheers! Thanks a lot. On a sidenote, I read this post on my iPad the other day. And went over to your webpage to find this download. Couldn't find it there, so I had to go back to the forum for this post. Is it an idea to have a Vassal link/download on your website?
  20. We have a gaming club in Alphen aan den Rijn where we play Malifaux among other things: www.alphengamesguild.nl Also there's a gaming store in Leiden, De Tafelridder, where Malifaux is being played. I got a Dutch Malifaux group going on, you can find it in my signature. There's room for Dutch players to find eachother there.
  21. Great paintjob! Do you have any tips for us novices how to train to become a better painter?
  22. Trying to sell my Black Templars atm. Have reposted them to Ebay after the first unsuccesfull sale. i ask less then 50% of new value. I don't feel the market for second hand warhammer is that good here. WarmaHordes stuff seems to sell more reliable.
