One interested Swede here, that has pre-booked a room a bit South on Haxby road. That should be just a short bus drive away, right?
  2. I might have found myself a new career. Got all the way to Oregon on my first time playing the game. Even got into the Top 10-list (Manson). Good bye current employment, I'm off to travel the world in my wagon (funnily enough, when I named my characters I named them after myself, my girlfriend and three of my friends). Only me and the girlfriend actually made it to Oregon, but I guess that's acceptable losses all things considered...)
  3. How do you feel about Diestro on Perdita herself? Giving all her opponents - on defense flips against her in melee, while she gets the in-built ram, should give her the ability to take out most minions/enforcers without any trouble.
  4. Just a question here, shouldn't Misaki basically be dead after two attacks from Lilith? If Lilith hit with two attacks, Misaki used Misdirection, and whatever took the hit discarded two cards each time, that's basically two Lilith-attacks still hitting Misaki, doing 6-12 damage (with + to the damage flip). That's why I think it's not OP at all, since if you just chuck the two cards you get a perfectly valid hit on Misaki, especially if it was a low mask that triggered it, giving you a straight or even a + flip on damage.

Just a heads up, there's been a few mentions of buffing your own buried models with Fast, but note that this isn't possible with Karina's action since hers read: "Target enemy model gain that condition." Is there any other way that I'm missing?
  6. I'm guessing you've read the novel Silver Crown then? Really loved it as a youngster, Jonas and Mari were my personal heroes (and Evan was sort of... there. In my Rage pack I also used the Kailindo Stargazer featured in the novel, can't remember his name now).
  7. I also prefer vodka. Vanilla-flavoured at the moment. Anyway, anyone else ever played the Rage CCG? It took place in the White Wolf Werewolf: the Apocalypse setting. I won a few local tournaments with my OTT Black Spiral Dancer-deck, before I traded it all for a King Albrecht-deck which was all I played afterwards (not very successfully I might add. Stupid sticking-to-the-stories-idea... (I loved it!)) Great minds think alike, appearantly!
  8. This past Saturday, the 9th of February, I played in my first Malifaux tournament ever. What follows is a report of how my games went and my thoughts and feelings about the tournament in particular, and the tournament experience in general. The 12-player tournament was organized by Peter (Seregon on the Wyrd boards) and took place in Uppsala, Sweden. It was the first Malifaux tournament held in town. About two thirds of the participants came from Uppsala or nearby Stockholm, while a few players had travelled quite a bit to take part. Many of the local players were beginners, me probably being one of the most experienced. The tournament was 30 Soul Stones, Fixed Faction, Fixed Shared Strategies with Unique Non-Master/Non-Faction Schemes. I took Ten Thunders as my Faction, as I had just finished my Misaki crew, and also had my Lynch crew finished since earlier. Game 1 – Shared Land Grab against Glenn with the Viktorias. My first game was against a really nice guy named Glenn, using the Viktorias. I had played against the Viktorias before, but never against their starter box, which is what he used, so it was my first time facing Johan, Bishop and Taylor. Thinking I needed a few more models to score in Shared Land Grab my crew consisted of Misaki, Yamaziko, a Torakage, an Archer and two Wastrels. For Schemes I took and announced Holdout and Eye for an Eye, while Glenn also took Holdout and Grudge on one of my Wastrels. During the game I used Misaki very offensively, charging Johan in the first turn, dispatching him at the start of the second turn, moving on to and killing Taylor before turning around and taking out Gun Vik. In the meantime his Viks and Bishop had been slicing up Yamaziko, before my Archer managed to kill Sword Vik with a lucky shot. The final turns mostly consisted of my Wastrels grabbing quarters for Land Grab, while my Torakage, Archer and Misaki threw themselves in front of Bishop to sacrifice themselves for my Eye for an Eye. The final score was a clear 8-0 to me, and I was in the lead. Game 2 – Shared Beatdown against Denniz with Perdita. My second game was against a great guy I’d met before named Denniz, Synthet on the Wyrd boards. He had an extremely well painted Perdita crew which had given him a big win in his first game. For Beatdown he took Perdita, Santiago, Nino, Abuela, an Austringer and a Witchling Stalker. His Schemes were Stake a Claim and announced Eye for an Eye. My crew were Misaki, Ototo, Yamaziko, a Torakage and an Archer, and my Schemes were Kill Protegée on Abuela, and Frame for Murder on Ototo, both announced. Once again, I used Misaki extremely offensively, using a house in the middle of the board to hide her behind turn one, before charging into Nino and Abuela turn two. In the meantime, my Archer overperformed once again and took out both the Austringer and the Witchling Stalker, and putting enough hurt on Santiago to get him in his crazy mode. This ended the life of the Archer, as Santiago used Rapid Fire against him and completely blew him away. During all this Ototo had been threatening Perdita, forcing Denniz to kill him giving me my points for Frame for Murder. Misaki once again proved she is great for mop up during the final turns, as she took out both the badly hurt Santiago and charged into and killed Perdita, after I ran her out of stones using the rest of my crew. Perdita did take the Torakage with her before dying, but at the end of the game I still had Yamaziko and Misaki alive, giving me a final score of 8-1. Scarily enough, after two games I was on 16 VPs, and poised for a tournament win if I could win my third game. Game 3 – Shared new Treasure Hunt, against Emil and his Showgirls The final game of the tournament was against Emil (emilfrojd on the Wyrd boards), a fellow I’d met when I was a kid about twenty years ago, during my first forays into Wargaming. He had played extremely well and was also on two wins with his nicely painted Colette crew. For the final game he took Colette, Cassandra, a Coryphee Duet and a Performer/Mannequin. His Schemes were Stake a Claim on a pile of rocks in the middle of the board, and Steal Relic, both announced. My crew was the same as in my last game, so Misaki, Yamaziko, Ototo, a Torakage and an Archer. For Schemes I announced Bodyguard, and kept Grudge on the Mannequin hidden. In the first turn we both played quite defensively, though I used my last activation of the turn to move Misaki up and into contact with the Treasure counter, hoping to win initiative and move away with the treasure right away. This almost proved my undoing, as initiative went his way turn two, and he companioned his whole crew to try and take out Misaki. The Duet began the assault, giving Misaki negatives on Resist flips through a trigger, and Cassandra and Colette followed up with spells. Colette also took the opportunity to steal the relic. Miraculously, Misaki survived, though I had to burn through four Soul stones on Damage Preventation to survive. Deterred, but not dead, Misaki grabbed the treasure and legged it, while the rest of my crew put themselves between Misaki and the Colette crew. Yamaziko hung back a little farther, using her Healing spell to get Misaki back up to full wounds. The rest of the game consisted of Colette and her crew harassing my crew, while Misaki stayed away with the treasure. The Archer was once again a real power-house, using Yajiri to give himself blasts he managed to take out Cassandra by shooting at nearby doves and splashing damage onto her and Colette. Ototo did what he does best, charging straight into the Colette crew, taking out the Mannequin to give me a point for Grudge, before dying to the return attacks from the rest of the Showgirls. In the fifth turn, the Coryphee caught up with Misaki, and I had to burn my last stones to keep the attacks from hitting her. Luckily, Misaki survived once again, and opened turn six by ripping the Duet apart. At the end of the game, I had held the treasure for four turns uncontested, Misaki survived giving me Bodyguard and I had managed to kill the Mannequin for Grudge, meaning I ended the game on 7 VPs. Emil succeeded on both Steal Relic and Stake a Claim, so the game ended 7-4 to me. The tournament was over, and I had scored a whopping 23 out of possible 24 VP. During the tournament, the organizer Peter had run a quiz (with bonus questions provided by Gamer’s Lounge-Bill / Nix), and during lunch all the players could look at all the crews and secretly assign each crew a painting score between one and three points. At the end of the tournament all players was also asked to secretly rank how fun their opponents had been to play against, by giving their most fun opponent 2 points, their second most fun opponent 1 point and so on. The final results of the day were: Top 3: Me, on three wins and 23 VP Elinore (Sybarite on the Wyrd boards), on two wins and one draw, and I believe 17 VP Glenn, on two wins and one loss, and I think 15 VP. A prize was also given to the person who had scored the highest in sportsmanship, painting and the quiz combined, which turned out to be Markus (Soundwave on the Wyrd boards). A prize for most Black Jokers flipped or played during the tournament went to Niklas, who managed 8 (the same as Elinore, but the organizer decided one prize was enough for each person). And the much coveted Slop bucket, our newly instated version of the Wooden spoon, for last place went to Dave (fishtank on the Wyrd boards). The organizer also let slip that I had scored five out of possible six points for Sportsmanship, while Elinore had managed to get the maximum 33 points for painting, closely followed by Martin (KML on the Wyrd boards) who scored 32 points. All in all, the tournament was great fun, and really well run and organized. I was pleasantly surprised to find the spirit of all the players so friendly, and will definitely take part in more tournaments in the future. Hopefully, this was only the beginning of a great Malifaux event-scene in Sweden. Thanks for reading! /Martin
  9. Thanks again for all the kind words everyone! I must definately try out the Army painter washes, they seem to be awesome. Nuln Oil isn't bad either, its just not quite as good as the old Badab Black. Thanks for the link! My first thought when I saw the picture in Storm of Shadows was of Clockwork Orange, so I've really been looking forward to getting my hands on them and painting them. Thanks! As RIosian wrote, the white recipe is on page two. Thanks! I've been following your progress on the Relic Hunters on twitter, they are really coming along nicely.
  10. A big thanks again everyone! I'm really glad you like them. The white takes some time, but is actually quite easy once you get the hang of it. Over a white basecoat I wash with GW's Badab Black (Nuln Oil in their new colour-range, though Nuln Oil isn't quite as good). Then, using a very watered down white, I highlight up to white again, leaving the darker grey created from the wash in the recesses. Using a really watered down white means you need to do a lot of layers before you reach pure white, but you get a lot more control over the final colour that way. I hope that's helpful!
  11. Thanks a lot everyone! The bases are premade, bought the from an eBay-store here: http://stores.ebay.com/fenrisgames The base style is called Regular Floorboard.
  12. Hi, Just wanted to show off my two Wastrels, painted this week for a tournament this Saturday. I'm sure you can guess where I got the inspiration for the colour scheme. Cheers!
  13. Thanks! Tokaji: Yupp, Lilitih, two Tots, two Youngs, one Mature and one Desperate Merc. Most of the models are from the game Carnevale: http://vesper-on.com/index.php?page=shop.browse&category_id=10&option=com_virtuemart&Itemid=7〈=en while Lilith herself is from Troll-forged miniatures: http://trollforged.com/shelf_fantasy_Fishmen.html
  14. After finally getting my act together and taking some photos of my Neverborn crews, I thought I'd put them up here. Any comments and critique is extremly welcome! Cheers /MrManson
