  1. I completely agree with Kadeton. Maybe another Tokerage and a Desperate Merc. Or maybe some Ronin.
  2. Cast Whispered Secrets on the first turn. Channel Seduction through Necrotic Machine until you cast Whispered Secrets again or Molly casts seduction on her own. I dont see why its a stupid idea? I've done it before. The reason why Seduction is better than Terrible Secrets is because it affects resist and wp flips. Which synergize with Avatar Seamus.
  3. Dead Doxies are good for 3 reasons. 1) Speed: The DDs (double Ds lol - sorry) move faster than anything else in your normal list. With Belles of the Ball, they can motor off "towards" an objective provided it is along a vector that will move them towards their victim of inviting approach. 2) Sybelle Slingshot: When the DDs die, they are slow to die, and one action that they can take allows them to switch places with a friendly Belle within 12 (i think). DDs are belles, and are pretty resilient, which means when they are killed, their killers are usually out of actions. In teleports an angry Sybelle that can then flurry and wail on them. 3) SEDUCTION: This spell can break an opponent. Especially if you are fielding Molly, because she can cast it for the DD, and cheat, and use soul stones. If you are blowing a high cheat card + soul stone to do so, chances are good that your opponent wont resist it. If you manage to hit the enemy master with hit, your target is taking negative 2 flips on all resist and defensive flips for the rest of the turn. This means no cheating or soul stones. You can then proceed to rape the target. This also makes Avatar Seamus that much scarier.
  4. I'm also torn between the Rider, Spiderswarm and Joss. Both have their pros and cons.
  5. You're all lucky its in Newark, my order is still stuck at "Processed". (I should be charging interest! )
  6. Honestly, I wouldnt take Mei Fei without Kaeris. But then you'd have to run her as Arcanist.
  7. Has anyone thought about this, or am I being ridiculous? Its 23 points, but thats a lot of speed... in larger games, you can even throw Von Schill in there too... (say a 40 ss game). Low on activations though. But the combination of Laz and the Mech Rider... thats pretty snazy...
  8. I always find the Dreamer hard to beat. Even after the errata. I find the lack of corpse tokens to be a significant problem, especially for Seamus. You need heavy hitters. Bette is good. Hulking out with Seamus might be a problem as using his standard Succumb to Darkness to pump his Terror level will make you suceptible to being paralyzed by the Dreamer as a 0 action. I might bring the following: Seamus Bette Noire Dead Doxie Rotten Belle Madame Sybelle I tend to throw in a Dead Doxie all the time now, she is a poor man's Jack Daw, but with much more range. Negative flips on WP and Defensive means no cheating, which makes pulling stuff out of formation with the Belle that much easier. Plus, she is a great mechanism for teleporting Madame Sybelle into the thick of things. Only problem is this list is very light on soul stones...
  9. I completely agree with RustySteampunk, Molly is best in 35 ss games. She really is a 9 point SUPPORT model that can suicide herself to kill an enemy master when stuff gets desperate. I have only used her with Seamus and his Avatar, but I see her fitting in very well with Nico as well. She can copy his spells which can lead to an additional cast of Rigor Mortis or Reanimator, and while Nico can bring out the unnamed undead, Molly can summon named beasties like Sybelle.

I run something very similar. Viktorias -Avatar Taelor Convict Gunslinger Ronin Ronin Desperate Merc I sometimes will drop the Convict Gunslinger and the Avatar to swap in Misaki or a Librarian, but I find this is the optimal setup. People constantly underestimate the power of blowing a good second turn hand on the Gunslinger and Desperate Merc.
  11. I really like bringing Molly and Desperate Mercs along. The mercs help with your manefest requirements and become corpse counters to fuel your initial castings. I like using Seamus to summon some Doxies off the dead mercs, and when in the thick of things, using Molly to summon Sybelle. There is nothing more annoying than resummoning Sybelle in the middle of a pack to tank over and over and over. This is what I have had some success with: Seamus + avatar Molly Bette Noire Rotten Belle Rotten Belle Desperate Merc Desperate Merc 5 stones. Plus, if you bring along Seamus's avatar to hulk out, you need Molly to keep the summon option available. That and I find its better to summon Sybelle rather than have her perambulate up the field.
  12. I see both sides to this "discussion." I started playing Malifaux because I really liked some of the models, and specifically the theme. The first thing I did when my friends all collectively decided to play this game was pick up a Seamus box set on look alone. I love the idea of a horde of zombie hookers. Its fantastic. I then approached the game like I did in all other mini games, I built a gang around a theme, the theme being "What would you find in a house of ill repute? Now make it undead." I can tell you for free, that you wont find katana wielding warriors in house of ill repute. Nor autospy victims, animal frankenstein monsters, grave diggers, miners, vultures, Japanese serpent spirits, etc. (Never saw any of that stuff during that documentary on HBO...) And I think thats the "problem" with Malifaux. The gangs are so thematic that a lot of people find it hard to reason why Johan would work with Seamus to slaughter an MSU gang. So you have very distinct themes within a faction. Now don't get me wrong, I like the idea of adapting your list to the scenario and your schemes. It does add a certain element to the game. What I have done, to appease both parts of the game for me: the thematic and the tactical flexibility; was to start modeling proxies for different models that would improve my gang, but remain in theme. To such an end I proxy Jack Daw with Mistress Jacqueline, the BDSM Mistress of the House, who died during an erotic asphyxiation episode. Now I get to use Jack Daw, and stay within theme. And I get a modeling challenge. (I made her from Lilith from Anima Tactics. http://www.thewarstore.com/media/CIS/CISCS1035.jpg I bent her legs so that the toes pointed closer together, lopped off that head and repinned it at a very unnatural angle supported by hobbywire twined with GS to make a rope which I attacted to the sword whip and made the sword whip look like rope. When I get home I will post a pick if I can remember.) I think if this is the way to approach the game if you cant get past theme aspect (like I cant). Stick to a theme and then convert models to suit that them and what the model will be. For instance, I have a Viktoria Secrets Gang. My Convict Gunslinger is a babe model from Privateer Press. (as I was searching for a pic of what I used for Mistress Jacqueline I found what I am going to proxy as a Freikorps librarian to fit my Damsels of Doom gang: http://www.thewarstore.com/media/CIS/FFGCS3006.jpg Now off to find a sexy Von Schill. So you see, you can do both, Theme and Tactics.
  13. So I blatantly stole the Viktorias' Secret Gang idea off someone on this forum, however I can no longer find the original thread to provide credit where credit is due. The theme (I know, I know, themes and Malifaux are bad, but I cant help it) is an all babe Outcast gang centered around the ginsu wielding lingerie models of doom, Viktoria and Viktoria2. So this is what I was using for a while. I'm about fifty fifty with it. But when I loose I get whooped. When I win, I feel its mostly blind luck or really good draws that lead to Vik2 slicing up 2-3 models and riding that to victory. Viktorias Taelor Misaki Convict Gunslinger (using Taryn di la Rovissi, merc solo from Privateer Press, as a proxy) 2x Ronin 5 ss In an attempt to improve my play, I want to improve this. To that end, I have identified what is integral to my gang, and what I can trade out. Integral Core: Viktorias Avatar 2x Ronin 5 ss (I dont want to go less than this.) This leave me with 20 points to play. I have read a lot of articles extolling the virtues of both the Freikorps Librarian and Von Schill. (Mind you I hate both their models so I would have to find suitable lingerie model replacements). I really like Taelor and I am not sold on the Convict Gunslinger and/or Misaki (both been bi-polar in play - from sucking harder than a brand new Dyson to dealing death to entire gangs.) Here's what I figured is a list of what I should bring. I would like your opinions on which you would take and why. Von Schill - I read good things. (No experience) Taelor - hammer mama, tough, can and has held the line for me Misaki - Sorta the swiss army naginata of my gang. Can do everything. Librarian - I read good things. (No experience) Convict Gunslinger - death with a good hand. A little slow Desperate Merc - Seems well worth it, and I can always kill it to feed the avatar manifest cost.
