  1. I have fought the Viks a few times in my local gaming group, and they are tough. I have not had to fight them with Seamus but it is the minions that really do the work anyways. I normally don't make a list until I know my statergy, but here is what I normally take with Seamus. Rotten Belles and Dead Doxies are good with their synergy. Night terrors and Canine Remains are what you need to grab objectives. Punk Zombies are great for dealing out the combat. Crooked men are also great with Rotten Belles. That is about what I can offer. I am sure the others will offer their advice also.
  2. So a new week starts and time to get some more models done. Might be a finisher week as I only have 10 resurrectionist models left to paint. Now the big question is, where is my opponent?
  3. I like it! Good idea on a theme for the crew. I will be watching this thread. Nice work on the graveyard also, very nice.
  4. Good point, missed that one. Still at 25, but the next will be at 30 at least. Got to take the training wheels sometime.
  5. Why thank you, good sir. Yes, everyone in the group thought is was pretty awesome also. I would have to say of all the people on the forum so far, I think an encounter against you would be very entertaining.
  6. Ok, my gaming group wanted me to post this and ask the good people of the wyrd forums. I have an idea how it should work, but I will see what everyone else thinks. Ok, there is the set up: Guilder Greg is standing on a height 2 fence/wall/rock. In contact with the terrain is Neverborn Puppet (height 1) and 1" away from the terrain is Neverborn Doll (height 1). Guilder Greg has a 1" range on his melee attack and it is his action. Can he use one AP to attack Neverborn Puppet and use another AP to attack Neverborn Doll?
  7. My gaming group will be working on some campaign rules in the next couple weeks. Although the models do not become better, you do create a master that gains exp and learns new abilities and spells. I will post it up after a little playtesting. I have also thought it would be pretty cool to do a "Malifaux Quest" type of campaign, something else to work on.
  8. I can see no reason why you would have to drop it unless the model died when it hits the ground.
  9. Ok, so it is Friday night and time to post up what I got done. A slow week, mainly as I am running out of minis to paint. I got a convicted gunsliger proxy done, Alice Rutger (the model I am using as my master in our Malifaux campaign), and 6 gremlins. Working on making a photo box so pictures will be posted a little later. So the total for the week is 8. Let's see what Ironskullbo got done.
  10. Nice little crew you got there. I seen that rafkin proxy, it is from reaper, right? Always makes me think of the Boogeyman from Gorillaz. Like Killjoy, very fleshy.
  11. Time for another Malifaux event at the lair. This time it is a duel with your single favorite master to see who has what it takes to rule the Lair. Check out the details below: Where? Dragon's Lair /8316 Blondo St /Omaha, NE When? Saturday the 19th What time? Starts at 10am and runs till 4pm Cost? $5 fee that goes straight to prize support The set up? Random Core encounters, Fixed Master, Domination Format. Models need not be painted and proxies are allowed as long as based on correct sized Wyrd bases. Crews are 25 soul stones.
  12. Having player many of the games you named, I can see some points but not others. The idea of surprises is kinda a given in any game you play. Warhammer does this, if you don't buy the opponent's army book. War Machine is just as bad, if not worst than Malifaux, as you have no chance to react to your opponent's actions. To me, setting up all your models in postion then having all models pull off the combo/feat and just watching your opponent take it as he can't react until his turn, takes less tactics than Malifaux. There are so many things that can go wrong in a game of Malifaux, that pulling off that combo just makes you feel better. This also follows the same as planning. You plan, but you plan on your feet. Having your opponent take a turn right after you, really makes you think on your feet. But you do plan in Malifaux, you pick your crew after the statergy is flipped, you pick your schemes after you know what your opponent is taking. If you did this in Fantasy or War Machine, you are playing a totally different game and the player that goes first is most likely to win. As for set backs, Fantasy and War Machine are far worst. Play a game of Fanasy and have a 400 point unit with character disappear on the first turn. Play a game of War Machine and lose on your first turn because you placed your caster 1/2" out of postion. Sure you can lose key models in Malifaux, but you can still turn it around and win. Malifaux is the only game in all the games I have ever played that is still fun no matter the lost or win.
  13. Wyrd's mindless zombies are pretty cool, the only problem I have with them is the fact there are no models in the game that look like the zombies if they were alive. I mean there is a guy in a suit, a big oaf, and the pilgrim lady? It would have been really cool if wyrd made zombie version of the other factions models, and not just guild. Maybe a zombie showgirl, zombie nephilim, or even a zombie gremlin.
  14. Nicely done. I couldn't image painting an undead army in 4 days little lone a wood elf army. One of the reasons I didn't have too many elves in fantasy, too much to paint.
  15. Sure thing. Most of the ones pictured in Ironskullbo's are Confrontation models (another great skirmish game). They are pretty hard to find, but alot of them find Malifaux perfectly. For me, the grave spirit and Deborah are horrorclix models, Gina is a heroclix, all the mindless zombies are from Reaper's Chronoscope model line, and Big Jim is a Reaper mini. Reaper Chronoscope has a lot of really good minis that fit in with Malifaux.
  16. Got a few more pictures to add to the thread. I should point out that all the pictures I have posted so far are of models I have already painted BEFORE we started this thread. The models I paint up during the week will posted later. With that said here is the rest of the crews. Here we have Yamada, Sid, Nicodem, Mortimer, and Axel. Here is the mindless zombies that follow Nicodem. Lucy, Nurse Z, Doc Z, and John Doe Last of the bunch is a treasure chest, Big Jim, and Xiufang. Xuifang will most likely end up a gunslinger for Kirai. That is all the old stuff. From here on out, the new stuff starts to show up.
  17. I like them. Nice and clean with a good color theme.
  18. It was a tough call between 1 and 6. I liked the pose on 1 and 6 is also pretty cool. The smoke is a little heavy, but still pretty cool.
  19. Yes! Finally you guys are back. Nothing makes painting as fun as having a good podcast playing in the background.
  20. Well, Seamus will be the better out of the box set to start with. Ramos will give you a good amount of points but lots of stuff to put together. Som'er Teeth Jones will need more models to get you started. Having own and played all three, I would rate them from easiest to start with to hardest as follows:Seamus, Ramos, Som'er Teeth Jones. Rating them from the most fun to play with as follows:Som'er Teeth Jones, Seamus, Ramos. That is my take on the matter.
  21. Yes, I too need to work a little on the lighting subject, but this is the best camera I own and that is as big as the pics get. Figured I would post up the rest of what I have already finished before the thread started. Here is Nurse Green, Nurse White, McMourning, Sebastian, and Chomper These are my Night Terrors and Canine remains. Both coming from..dare I say it, GW. The canine remains are just proxies until I get the real remains and the sorry to say this, but I am not a fan of the night terror models. Here are some clix models that I cut off the base and made into Malifaux miniatures. There is the grave spirit (again, another Resurrectionist model I am not a fan of) Gina and Deborah, two extra rotten belles. Last pic is of Miller, the only minion I have painted that is not in a box set. Enjoy
  22. Total it took about 3 days. In fact, here is a picture of The Redchapel gang. Here is Olivia, Cassie, Seamus, Madame Sybelle, and Fiona. I figure Malifaux has such character I should name all the models. Here is Seamus and mini Seamus, or as he is know in our gaming group as "Wee Baby Seamus"
  23. I focus mainly on Resurrectionist. As of right now, I have the RedChapel gang, The Body Thieves, and the Undertaker's Lot done. I only have Molly and the rogue left in the Horrors box. After that, it is minion time. Once I paint at least one of every minion, I will move to a new faction.
  24. Good question. One of the guys in my gaming group lost his Rasputina card. It will be nice when all cards are in the shop for purchase.
  25. Isn't Adam also the name of Frankenstien's monster in the book? Think I heard that from someone once.
