Hey Everybody! I've posted up bits and pieces of my things around here before, but now I've taken some better pictures and decided I'd like to catalogue my painting and modelling as I go, hopefully it will keep me motivated to work! I've painted a decent amount of models for the Resurrectionists, mainly for my starting Master Nicodem. I've also painted up Marcus and have his Beasts on the way, as well as an Outcast Crew I'm excited to start painting. I'm going to log all the things I have to do here so I can try to keep on top of things. I agree with your interpretation, it isn't the Vulture casting the spell so the Fog isn't placed around it. Shame it can't though.

It says on the home page it has been changed as per the manufacturer, but the wording is a little ambiguous. I can't imagine a wholesaler would just stop stocking parts of a range.

Should I be washing my models?

Hey guys, Just looking to get some tips on working with greenstuff, I've been fiddling around with it for a couple of years now and I'm fairly comfortable making amorphous blobs and the like, but doing anything much harder than that seems like it would be very difficult. I have trouble getting the greenstuff to a workable state, I cut a bit off and mix it to green and then dunk my tools or fingers in water and place it where I want it to go, but it's really hard to get it to stick to anything. It prefers to stick to my fingers or the tool, unless I get them really wet, in which case it won't stick to anything. Am I doing it wrong? If I do get it to stick down then doing any kind of work is difficult on it because it just pulls it up and it falls off again. I am mainly using it now to get my models to stand on their base and to fill in the tab at the same time, but even that is hard to do. Is there an obvious problem somewhere? Is it the water? Do I need to leave it to dry after I mix it and before I work it? Is it just too old? I've had the same coil since I started using it 2 or 3 years ago, it's been kept in the freezer. Hey guys! I'm about to start an Outcast Mercenary Crew and I'm thinking I'd like some extra hats to spread around on my models, or at least a few to cover up Alternate Victoria's bald spot. Anyone know where I can get a set of suitably sized hats, Victorian or Wild West style? Only thing I can find is the Malifaux Hats and Guns, which isn't appearing to be my cup of tea, and something from Reaper Miniatures, which doesn't really suit. So, any suggestions would be great! Oh my bad, I didn't word this correctly. I am aware that Censure ends at the end of the turn, but does discarding two cards also end the effect, or does it just allow you to make the Censured Action once? Basically: Discarding two cards allows me to use the Censured Action until Censure is cast again. OR Discarding two cards allows me to use the Censured Action this one time, and then the effect ends at the end of the turn. Therefore if I wanted to use a Censured Action twice in the same turn I would have to discard four cards. Which is correct? Thanks guys :1_Happy_Puppet1:

The wording on the Lawyer's Censure Spell is rather ambiguous, it could be read as meaning that the opponent has to only discard two cards to end the effect, or to discard two cards each time it wishes to make the censured action. Do we have a ruling on which is correct?

Yes, he can, Performer and Mannequin are Mercenaries. The only Mercenaries outside of the Outcasts, I believe.

I like how the model's look skill wise, the highlights and shading are very nice, but as you said the colours are a bit confronting. The purple on the Witchling Stalker is nice, I like it, but the green doesn't seem to match it well, in my opinion anyway. Otherwise it looks good, nice job. The Onryo is great, the colours work well, the blue skin is very drawing, but it fits in well the longer you look at it. The skill on the Onryo also looks very good, I like this model a lot. If you're having trouble with colour choice, then it's always a good choice to throw in a neutral colour, it just helps the other colours to have a reference point. However, looking at these guys you may have a taste for the brighter more vibrant colours, in which case it's just a matter of trial and error.

I agree with LupusFerreus, I don't think the Joker's should be changed, it would severely lessen the tone and theme of the game. I'm sure that if you play a mass amount of competitive games than you are going to have a handful of stories of when a Joker has ruined a well timed manoeuvre, but in my experience it's not really a serious game breaking issue. Reading through the spreadsheet, it does look like some of the fixes might bring the game a bit more in line, but it seems at the expense of theme. A fairly large number of models, especially the Unique minion to each of the original Master's, received some kind of Expert, movement got streamlined in a bit as well. Seemed to me like a lot of the model's would lose their individuality in going towards this kind of streamlining. I'm not to worried about any balance issues in the game at the moment, and would prefer to keep the theme intact. If anything I think I'd be most willing to see some very minor tweaks, and most probably only the area of Soulstone Cache and Soulstone Costs, and even then, on a select few, i.e Seamus and Bishop respectively. Interesting read, but I'm against any major changes.

Nice looking stuff! I really like your lighting effects, and those are the best Fire Gamin I've seen painted! Well done! Also, the Rogue Necromancy looks tiny!

You can bring in any model that fits the requirements, it doesn't have to be part of your crew! Being able to add extra undead to your ranks makes up for the slower movement they suffer from. As Twisted Metal says, don't forget to draw an extra card for Reanimator, I always forget!

Alpha can't be used on friendly beasts, so that's not a possible use for it. I guess you could argue the Reactivate happens in normal turn sequence, but it seems a bit off to me.

Hey guys, The local gaming club picked up Malifaux late last year, but it has died down a bit over time. There's still a few of us here on the Gold Coast that I know of, however the few we have at the gaming group are in Murwillumbah. We want more players! If Marcus uses Alpha on an enemy are they friendly to my crew for the duration of their activation? Situation was, Marcus' used Feral on Viktoria, which he passed, then Marcus used Stare Down to help with Alpha. Marcus then used Alpha and successfully took control of Viktoria. She then went to slaughter Taelor but due to Stare Down her attempts were pathetic and she did nothing. Should Viktoria have been friendly to my crew or is she still unfriendly and thus affected by Stare Down?

I tend to be fine for corpse counters with Mortimer. Exhume is reliable enough to have at least one corpse counter by turn 2's end. However I haven't been using Mindless Zombies for a while, Reanimator is too tempting. A Grave Spirit attached to Nicodem should add significantly to his defence if you're willing to go that way.

I believe you have to cast it if you enter the range, since it does not say "may" or another similar word. However, casting Seduction as a result of this spell will not cost an Action Point, it is free, you do however have to Cast it which means you still have to flip, pass the casting cost and have your target fail to resist. It is not an auto succeed, just a free cast. Still a nice spell though.

I like it, I didn't read all the story because I'm about to have dinner, but the rules are interesting. I shall read it later. Few questions, Coalesce is pretty tough to get off, do you intend to only have it last until the end of the turn. Not sure how much effect Insignificant would have if that's the case. Although the more I think about it the more it seems fair. If I cast Vile Whispers and then repeatedly walk back and forth through you on the same turn is the damage cumulative? Not sure if I'd pay 5 Soulstones for it, maybe 4? I like it though, good stuff.

Thanks for the comments guys! The lighting effect isn't actually quite as powerful in real life, so it's not as noticeable, but the build up to the white isn't super smooth as can be seen in the picture. If there's another chance for me to do some OSL then I'll definitely try harder to get it right. Thanks a bunch for the tips on painting, I've only recently learnt that I'm supposed to water my paints down (after some 5 or 6 years of painting), with the change over to Malifaux from 40k I wanted my models to look good, so I did some research and learnt of my problems. XD Unfortunately with only the internet to help me the progress is a bit slow, but I'm happy with how I'm going. Crew wise I'm trying to stay in theme with the beasts, it's not a very competitive area down here so I'm not too worried about it. I'm aware of my lack of range from the couple of games I have played and I'm thinking a Misaki might be nice, she seems like she'd be easier to paint into the crew, maybe the Gunsmith, I'm not sure yet though. I've only picked up the Marcus Box, Molemen and the Jackalope thus far, and orders only go out for more models every 3 months, so the Night Terrors and Waldgeist are going to be later additions, I'm liking the look of Malifaux Raptors also. Thanks for the tips guys, keep them coming! I've got one Moleman underway and hopefully I'll get him down before long!

Hey, I just used the Roar Spell of the Sabertooth Cerberus, inside the pulse is seven other models, three are friendly and four are enemy. Does each individual model inside the pulse have to take a WP Resist duel and if they fail then Fall Back? Does Roar affect my friendly models, it doesn't say it doesn't so I assume it does affect them, although it seems like a steep cost to pay. Thanks.

Damn, yeah I missed that mould line, sometimes they are so hard to see >_< Most of the paint is watered down, it's just the very edge highlights that I don't water down, because I don't know how to do it. XD If I water it down the water just runs from the high point, making the attempt at highlighting null and void. If I do get it to sit nicely on the edge, by the time the paint has dried it hasn't left any distinguishable colour, and so its a problem. I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong. Hey Guys, I've just recently picked up Marcus' Box Set and a few blisters of other Beasts, eager to paint them up I've done Marcus' so far. I didn't want to go with the traditional colour scheme, so this is what I came up with: This is my first attempt at Object Source Lighting and I'm pretty proud of myself, what do you guys think? I unfortunately could not get his pupils painted, it just wasn't working out for me, so any tips in that regard are much appreciated. Throw me your comments and criticism! I want it all!
