  1. Here's Yan Lo's Crew, or at least what I didn't post of it before. All the water effects are done with Woodland Scenic's Realistic Water. Izzy Izzy Again! The Ashigaru All together now.
  2. So I finally got around to finishing up what I have of Yan Lo's, Jakob's, and Misaki's crews, so I figured I'd post them. C&C welcome! Jakob The Very Hungry Caterpillar His Illumnated Beckoners And the Crew all together
  3. Besides the tubes, I think it's a pretty damn good model. Yeah, it's a little bigger, but I figure the guy who pilots it has to be pretty beefy to start, no to mention, he's got the armor on so he's gonna be taller. He's also incredibly dynamic, which I think is one of the best parts of the new plastics.
  4. You always finish the current duel before you proceed to the next.
  5. Not at all, because in every case of the use of until that I can think of, that word is followed with "the end of the turn," or "this models next activation," etc. This is the way I see it: the effect is going to end in the end step, but they put the "Once..." clause in so that people don't interpret it that you can use it multiple times. Just to clarify this a little more, and this may sound a little strange, but I think the burden of proof is on those who want it to last. We have a standard: if something extends beyond a single turn, through activations, it specifically says so. This wording does not fit into that scheme, and we do have a guide for something that lasts until used. It doesn't follow.
  6. But it doesn't actually say, specifically, "This spell/effect/etc ends..." where every other example of something breaking the rules of an effect being removed at the end of turn does. E.G. Molly's Whispered Secret, or Sam's Flaming Bullets, etc.
  7. I don't think it does last through the resolve effects, actually. "Once" is not a defined end time. It's more of an if-then statement. It doesn't actually define that the suit lasts until it is used, just that it loses it if it is. Make any sense? ** There was a discussion about this at some point, but I can't seem to find it.
  8. Came up in a game today, and we assumed that the answer was yes, but can Brilliance be Shrugged Off? In some cases, it makes sense: The Light Inside is a spell that generates an effect. But in others, it doesn't make sense: Beckoner's Honeyed Words and Huggy's Tendrils don't generate an effect, it states the "model gains Brilliance." To me, the wording is almost precisely what is used for models receiving slow. But Brilliance isn't an effect, it's a characteristic. Any insight on this would be much appreciated, thanks!
  9. There's already kind of a thread for this, just so you know: http://www.wyrd-games.net/showthread.php?40487-What-exactly-makes-the-Zamu-so-powerful
  10. http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1093338811/east-asian-village-for-28mm-gamers?ref=category Google-fu
  11. I've killed Izzy with Izzy, Chompy, and Lilith, and had him killed by minion Misaki, and a Nico dead ball. He's not invincible by any means.
  12. Nix, thought you might like this
  13. I think InteroVivo hit the nail on the head. OP is just an excuse in one way or another. The power curve in 'Faux can be a little off sometimes, but honestly, if you build and play towards the strategy and schemes and get out of the mindset that you have to kill everything all the time, then you'll find that success is easier to achieve. Another way to work around this in game play is to look what else is making the model work. Is he being healed? Kill the healer. Is he being pushed and pulled into position? Kill the caster. At the very least, and I don't condone this kind of play, if you know you're going to be facing a model you don't like, take a hard counter to it. Izamu's hard counter is Ototo, who can crush his face fairly easily. Complaining about something being overpowered is just that: complaining. Do something about it instead, and I guarantee you'll not only have more fun, but you'll be a better gamer for it.
  14. I've just been using a Reaper transport case with pick and pluck, and it works find for me. No breaking, snapping, etc.
  15. Does it matter if they 'fly as painted'? They're awesome.
  16. ________________ Original model/photo of Marcus belongs to Nix
  17. Schilly and McM are fairly well-balanced against each other in my experience, but it really depends on what models are taken. Each crew can gain advantage over the other by using certain models that are more difficult for the opponent to deal with. But the good thing about these two crews is that they are fantastic starting places to branch out into other masters in the factions.
  18. Lynch has a lot of options outside of Neverborn that I have found make him pretty nasty. I like Von Scholl with him for numerous reasons, the least of which is that no one ever expects it. Basically what Lynch really needs, usually, is another beater to have around. Huggy is awesome and all, be he's not a huge mêlée killer all the time. Schilly fills this, as does Ototo, and Toshiro will when he's available, not to mention allow for summoning. I also like to pop in a Torakage every so often for those strats that require more movement, not to mention they can save Lynch's ass and get Huggy where he needs to be if necessary. Just my two cents.
  19. I've also had good luck with the Wyrd plastics and plastic glue. And until you put together one of the Freikorps Strongarms, you can't talk about fiddly....
  20. I took Yan Lo with Izzy, 3 Ashigaru, and Von Schill. Nothing survived.
  21. With Dreamer or Marcus? Seems a little light for either of them.
  22. Actually, now that I'm looking at the cards, Flame Wall isn't terrain, and Ice Pillars specifically say they are impassable terrain. So there's the simple answer.
  23. While yes, you are correct, the model still has to move by the shortest route possible. So if the Flame Wall were dangerous terrain that slowed the model down, then going around might be shorter, but since it's not, they have to move through. Not to mention, and this kind of precludes the argument, the opponent gets to choose the path. This is clarified in the FAQ: It also states: So, as long as it is following the rules of pushing towards - eg ending up closer and taking the shortest route - if it passes through a Flame Wall, so be it.
  24. As far as I'm aware, they would be pushed into it. Flame Wall is terrain, but it isn't impassable or difficult (if I remember correctly), so the model still has to take the shortest route towards the lurer, which would be through the wall.
