  1. How about Harmless? It would give them some staying power and fit with the fluff. Might make them more expensive though...
  2. But the "warm" orange is a good choice to contrast the "cool" blue and green of the rest of the model! If you just went with white or grey you wouldn't have as dynamic a palette. Admittedly it might make the eyes stand out even more though... Nice job!
  3. Cheers guys! Some good stuff there. Looks like most of them are resin then. I think that should work!
  4. Does anyone know of a company in the UK that does display bases for models? Basically just chunks of wood but preferably with some interesting knotting. As an example, the base that the guy on the left is standing on:
  5. We're having a bit of a debate over the rules for charging. Does a charge have to be one straight line or can your charge have a bend in it? (in effect, two or more straight lines connected at an angle). An example would be charging round a piece of severe, open terrain. So that you have LoS across it but cannot reach the target model by crossing it directly. Also Lady J charging round a corner (ignoring LoS with her blindfighter thingy).
  6. Glue gun? Kind of awkward to work with but you can very quickly build up bulk with one.
  7. I converted up a couple of plastic Black Orcs from WFB with Chaos Knight heads as my Wardens. I think they worked really well but I would say that!
  8. Most of my rats are GW. Most of the rest of the crew is Wyrd though I have some Studio Miniatures zombie kids that get used as stolen...
  9. Just make sure you're shuffling your deck properly when you play Goggy!I think I'll only be able to play on the second day as non-Wyrd proxy models abound in all my crews. I'm assuming Gaining Grounds means they're not allowed?
  10. Boooo! You bowed to the pressure! I'll have to unbook my room at my house for the weekend! It's completely thrown out my plans to walk from Clifton to Old Market!
  11. Graaah! Change is baaaad!Seriously, some of you guys need to lighten up and remember that Malifaux's a game, played with toys, by geeks.I'll be there with my toys, geeking out and trying my best to win the sportsmanship prize! (so I won't be playing Hamelin)
  12. Haha, I feel your pain! Don't worry though, he's totally worth it. My Hoffman never leaves home without his trusty metal steed. Your metals are incredibly rich. What's the recipe?
  13. When you've got such a small amount of models as you have in a Malifaux crew you might as well use brush on varnishes. I use a coat each of Vallejo Gloss and Matt Varnishes. Gloss gives the protective layer and the Matt dulls it off. Worth a try! You can be pretty liberal when you paint them on, it all just shrinks down to coat the model when it dries.
  14. 1. To date my group has been playing it so that when a model receives a blight counter, they had it for the rest of the encounter. Is that correct? When playing today, the argument came up that maybe blight counters, like other effects should be lost at the end of the turn. 2. If Hamelin dies, does The Void still remain in effect? I somehow managed to let Hamelin get killed (I know!) but then we weren't sure what to do about card mechanics.
  15. Haha that's an awesome Hamelin proxy. Utterly terrifying! Where's that Keito model from? Might be useful for a crew I'm planning at the moment...
  16. I'm planning on getting Azumi as an alternate sword-Vik for a Japanese Yakuza Viks crew I have ideas for. There's a female ninja by Taban that I'm going to use as Misaki. Generally it doesn't matter too much if the weapons a model has don't quite match what their stats say, as long as it's justifiable.
  17. Oh, oops! You managed it! Yeah I can definitely see what's going on more in the putty photo before the primer. He looks really cool! Is he for Malifaux? What's he representing? An Ortega?
  18. That should do it. Just needed the URL the photo in the IMG tags, none of the HTML. Looks good but I'd need some more angles!
  19. Yeah, if he's casting protect he's only got one AP left so that's 4" of movement in the first turn. I've definitely had games where I've thrown PK into melée in the first or second turn, leaving the Guardian playing catch up. It does tend to work ok though because by the time the Guardian's made his way into the fight Hoffman's still alive so the guardian just soaks up the damage for the rest of the game...
  20. One problem I have with The Guardian is his lack of mobility actually. I run a construct heavy Hoffman crew and If I'm wanting to surge forward to take on the enemy I've got the Peacekeeper and Wardens going forward 15" with Hoffman and the Mobile Toolkit going along with them automatically. This tends to leave the Guardian playing catch-up for at least the first couple of turns. Any tips?
  21. I like it! What's he made out of? I really like his left hand actually but I can't see, from the photo, whether or not he has a right hand yet.
  22. The sneakiest part being that the tots can kill your own rats to get blood counters and then the rats just come back! I haven't actually tried it yet, haven't got the models, but it sounds like it could be pretty fun (for the Hamelin player at least!).
  23. Let me guess, you tried a few games and realised how awesome he is? If so, that's exactly what I did! All looks awesome. The bases are great and you've got nice, strong colours going on. Are you going all Wyrd with your minis or going for other companies?
  24. So many rats! Whoever commissioned you must have money to burn! Makes me glad I'm not a tournament player I play Hamelin but I've only got the 3 Malifaux rats from the original box and a ton of proxies. Awesome wok on all your stuff!
