  1. 'Big enough' to tell you myself? Im not quite sure what I did to deserve that hostility, as far I remember all Ive done is paint prizes for you for free. Apologies for not letting you know I wasn't attending, I assumed it was the other way around (as in, I should tell you if I wanted to come) since I also havent bought a ticket. Sorry for causing any confusion, and thanks for the offer of a place. Thanks, Jon
  2. Sorry mate, really hope I didn't sound condescending. Just trying to help and the guide is really straightforward. Beautiful paintjob like I said. Particularly love the green coat, it really makes her "pop" in-amongst all that flame Awesome job on the flames too- with so much area being flame it'd be easy to mess that up, so great job.
  3. Better still, check out this link to fix your own images... http://www.coolminiornot.com/articles/1724-the-gimp-photo-manipulation Beautiful paintjob, now we can see it
  4. Very cool, gorgoeus paint job! I can't wait to see more .... but get rid of that God-awful background for your photos. Plain black, plain white or gradient blue would be fine. With the yellowish colour at the bottom and the blue waves, she almost looks like a Hawaiian chick on a beach.
  5. Wow, excellent work on a model that probably isnt one of Wyrd's strongest sculpts.... you've done a brilliant job bringing it up to scratch! Can't wait to see some paint on her
  6. Very nice work! Love the cactus bases for the Ortegas. Where are they from? They dont look home-sculpted (I've tried before..... not as easy as it looks, and I can sculpt a fair amount)
  7. Xander?? Where are yooouuuuuuuuu? *echo* You've been neglecting your blog, the interwebz is not happy. Joking apart, any progress? Really excited to see more paint go on these guys Alyce in particular.
  8. Google is your friend I use Photobucket, but ImageDump is pretty much the same. Flickr is an alternative.
  9. Would love to know where you got the bear from? I know you said it was a 1:32 scale gladitor set but what any idea what company? It's a great basis for the new bear!
  10. Awesome paint job!..... but you need to blast that bad-boy with some matt varnish! He looks a bit shiny and the varnish will take that away. The stuff I use is Army Painter Anti-shine, but I hear Dullcote is better.
  11. I meant Lucius, but it wasnt Judge Dredd I meant...... not sure why that name came into my head. Cant think of the character I was thinking of now.
  12. His Avatar could be a blue police-telephone box? .... sorry, couldnt resist. I actually think this is a great idea, if we have Jekkyl/Hyde, Jack the Ripper, the Pied Piper, ........ why can't we have Dr. Who!?
  13. Beautiful skin tone, lovely painting. Can't wait to see the rest! My only suggestion would be to tone down the eyes with a glaze or two- looks like you have used actual white for the eyeballs. Many painters tend to use an off-white for the whites of the eyes, and a dark grey for the pupils, as it makes the eyes look less glarey.
  14. Wow, I'm amazed. Excellent work! I agree about the OSL on the Seishin, it would be nice if they glowed, but they still look great without it. Will the rest of the crew fit into the diorama too eventually?
  15. I was considering this site.... http://www.printerstudio.com/personalized/custom-playing-cards-gifts.html
  16. Absolutely awesome crew, can't wait to play them at the Leeds Wargaming Centre! The freehand is stunning and the lost love... just, wow. Congrats on winning the Leeds Iron Owl painting comp prize too!
  17. Managed to get some paint splashed onto the Lawyer (despite him being the model I never actually use in games, havent got him figured out yet....). Awesome sculpt.
  18. Sorry, its been a while since I posted. Firstly, I managed to get C. Hoffman finished and managed to take away a runner up prize at the Leeds Iron Owl painting competition. Given what I was up against, I was very pleased! Unfortunately I wasnt so pleased with the paint job I did on Hoffman, it certainly wasnt my strongest work, but given the competition on the day it would have made no difference whatsoever- the winning pieces were outstanding. I also managed to finish up work on Lucius himself. Quite pleased with the finished model, especially given that the face was my first proper attempt at NMM. The base includes part of the carpet from the inside of his Mansion- a sneak peak of what is to come when I get around to working on the display base!
  19. Wow...... I'm really impressed. The mural is incredibly good, and a very fun a Malifaux-ish subject too! Would love to see the rest of the diroma all put together. I assume every model in the crew will eventually fit in?!
  20. So- anyone picked up book 3 at GenCon today, and know what Perdita's Avatar form will be? The girlfriend is hoping for something big and cool, like Perdita riding a horse or a gun carriage.
  21. Wicked Von Schill conversion! Much prefer it to the original.
  22. Not really, sorry. I have the standard GW pin vice, it comes with two drill bits and the smaller one is around a half mil- the smallest you should ever need, and perfect for a standard paper clip. The large drill bit is around 1mm the perfect size for large heavy-duty paper clips too, conveniently. Before inserting the drill bit, if you tighten the vice up first to the point where the drill bit can't slide in any other way than straight, you should be fine! Remember, the "chuck" in the pin vice (the piece that holds the drill bit) are usually reversible if you unscrew the vice completely- one side is for larger bits and one side for smaller. Can't recommend the GW one enough- certainly done the trick for me for many years.
  23. No such thing. Should be able to get a half mill drill bit in there, and part of a small paperclip, even if its very very short.
  24. Awesome idea- wish I'd thought of this first! I may be stealing it in the future! They look terrific. Can't wait to see some paint on them!
