  1. One of the guys from my local shop pigapulted Ophelia who landed on her feet and blew Lilith's face off. That was about the funniest moment I've seen in our circle.
  2. Taxidermist and Pigapult would be useful.
  3. While I would agree that Weaver Widow can be situtational, I have found that "situational" is almost every situation. She comes with multiple strengths which all directly buff Collodi's crew. First, she is arachnid which lets her ignore annoying terrain penalties. She can even scout into buildings and chase down snipers if needed. Then she picks up a corpse counter after the kill. Second, she is both a scavenger and graverobber. While the graverobber doesn't help Collodi, it allows you to let Collodi pick up his broken marionettes and the Weaver to deny Ressers of their dead counters. You will put them to good use with point three. Third, she acts as LoL's Annie. In fact, that is the name of my Weaver. Teddy (or Tibbers) is a huge target on the field. Doing a Tibber drop after getting 4 counters is a gratifying experience. This will occur at turn 4 at the latest and most-likely earlier as deaths occur.
  4. Weaver Widow & Teddy are a must. Careful with what Shadowopal mentioned as you can only ever have 4 marionettes in a scrap...8 for a brawl. Arcane Effigy is a solid first choice. I often play it along with Mysterious. Brutal is good.
  5. Nice, thanks for the clarification of its use...and undo. As this is my first Vassal module, I'm looking forward to playing around with it.
  6. My friend, who owns a hobby shop, forced me to buy Izamu and the 50 mm Zen insert after I placed an order for a blister of each of the clear blue bases. Honestly, it didn't take much "forcing" as the model looks incredible and I was going to do Kirai or Yan Lo next, anyway.
  7. Not that I've tried yet but Kirai seems to be a solid partner.
  8. They're Just Rats seems to be misinterpreted. To me, it seems clear that the rat can die during its own activation...just not friendly models' activations. I may be wrong on this but the rule does not say it can't be killed in its own activation and even gives an example of it happening with terrain. Poison and other beginning of activation effects should also be added to the same effect.

    Vassal Fate Deck

I'll stick with my Retro Deck for now. But, I do like that they used the Retro Deck symbols.
  10. Is there a way to have a pop up ask you if it is okay before it happens? That way you can verify it is a legit manipulation before it happens.
  11. I think you need a Teddy before you add another Effigy but Arcane should probably be a first pick. My first was Mysterious because the model is cool and it was Neverborn, but Arcane is the one that has helped the most. An extra card and an extra AP per turn is pretty good.
  12. I can confirm from the card sitting in front of me that Conduct gives "+1 AP" so although it is a sneaky loophole against the intended use, it could work as OP suggests.
  13. If post from UK to Canada weren't so damned expensive, I'd probably bite on the Dead Justice but I'll probably wait for a domestic crew to pop up.
  14. Looks like most of the responses come from areas that have pretty much the same meta as around here. Ortegas are solid. Points costs are not always the only factor to weigh. 1-2 Ortegas in with Perdita seems the norm.
  15. Not all high-cost models are too expensive for competitive play. But, when your clan line is filled with high-cost models, it does become preventative to build a really fluffy list that is highly tuned and competitive. I want to use the word consensus...but it may not be right... I see a lot of people taking 1 or 2 Ortegas that really fit into their schemes and then filling their list with lower-costed ranged or melee attackers when building competitively and then running the whole Gunslinger Box when they are just playing for fun. This isn't just limited to the Ortegas. Other crews have similar problems.
  16. Cassandra is too tanned. Sorry...had to nitpick. I hate (read love) nicely painted Showgirls.
  17. I say proxy. If it isn't a tourney...and you said Thursday so I'm assuming it isn't...proxy the cards and play. You would be doing an injustice to your local gaming community by not playing these cool models.
  18. Thou must now contact one of the online card manufacturers and DO IT!!! I would totally love to see a Zoraida player doing this.
  19. I was going to drum roll the first pun but I think the next three+ also deserve it so cheers to the level of wit in this thread! :+fate:+fate
  20. The push is a place within (but not wholy within) 4" as per errata on pushes. It is not directly toward. I believe that Doll Friend also says immediately after, as well, doesn't it? That would mean that you have your choice as they would all be immediately. For the "variant companion," Collodi would activate, do his actions, then all the immediately activating dolls would happen in any order of your choosing. This can pull Collodi further away from the other Marionettes allowing them to push before they take the rest of their actions.
  21. The game is really easy to pick up by watching and then just diving in. The more you play, obviously, the more you will pick up. I still forget triggers and sometimes misjudge which actions to take in any given situation. I've often killed an opponent's model before I moved in with something that could collect a trigger from the death. Experience will make you better but the game is fun from day 1 and, to me at least, fun even when you lose.
  22. A quick pic of any extras in the box would be cool too. I'm a converter...love bits.
