  1. Great shading on the clothing on both, especially McMourning's apron. I also like the color choices for both - nice to see a McMourning that isn't so cartoony. As for the eyes & faces, here's the tutorial that I used to teach me how to do it (you've mentioned before that you like the eyes on my models...) http://handcannononline.com/blog/2011/04/05/tutorial-painting-expressive-faces-and-eyes-2/
  2. That's great work for your first mini. I can't believe you did that with a size 5 brush! I'm looking forward to seeing your future work.
  3. Another great painting job! I love your style. I'm looking forward to seeing your whole crew together when it's done.
  4. Really great paint job - it's so clean! Love the pink on Raspy & the colours on the showgirls.
  5. Thanks to some good advice (thanks Durek), the purchase of a tripod, and some practice, I have much better pictures of my minis. I'll add them to the first post after I finish with this one. I finished my cowgirl Ronin this evening. I haven't sealed her yet, but here are some pics.
  6. The best thing I've found to unclog my bottles is a T-shaped quilter's pin. I can't claim to have come up with the idea - they used these at the speed painting contest at Gen Con. I like them because the T shape at the top is easy to grip. Here's a picture: I was able to find some at my local Michael's. You can probably also find them at a sewing shop.
  7. Great paint job. The cleaver looks amazing! Very life-like (and suitably gross). It would be nice to see a better picture - I find it hard to pick out details on his body.
  8. Time for some works in progress! I've been trying to get my Viks and Ronin painted. They were some of the first Malifaux models I got and I finally feel comfortable enough painting to tackle my Viks.
  9. I like the colours, and your highlighting is really good. As for the line on her face, cut the lady some slack - it's hard to find time to wax when you're being shot at. *grin*
  10. Oooh, shiny! I really like the metallics on the constructs and the colours on Ramos.
  11. Finally decided to look up the manual for my camera so I can take better pictures. That being said, my camera's at least 5 years old so some of my pictures will still be grainy. Here's a close-up of the tattoo on my Convict Gunslinger.
  12. I've also started to work on my Sonnia avatar. I haven't painted Sonnia herself yet, but here's the dragon. The highlighting/shading on the yellow doesn't show up very well in the pictures, for some reason.
  13. It's been quite a while since I last posted. I hadn't painted in a couple of months, but I finally started again last week. Since then I've finished one model and started on several others. Here's my finished Convict Gunslinger...
  14. Oooh, very nice! I really like the colour scheme.
  15. Really nice work. I particularly like the belles - they're super creepy!
  16. What a stunning crew! Your paint job is amazing.
  17. Really nice work. Love the leather-look of their clothes.
  18. Really nice work. I like the colour scheme on the Freikorps.
  19. Here's my one completed work from August - he's been matte varnished since these pics were taken, but I haven't gotten out my camera since then.
  20. Really great work! Personally, I'd yellow up the trousers a bit though.
  21. Wow! The custom decks are a great idea, and you did a really good job on them. Can't wait to see the finished product!
