  2. Nice work! I particularly like your whites - they turned out really well. Those magical mold lines are a pain. They've appeared on me a few times.
  3. Interesting discussion. The Viks are (and have always been) my primary crew. I quite like their new look, although it's a toss up whether the plastics or the alt sculpts are my favourite. I really like the new ronin, but I also really like the old ronin too. For Taelor, I find the new sculpt superior if only because they finally got rid of that hated underboob (I stand by my conviction that a hardened criminal like Taelor wouldn't go into battle without any support). The student of conflict is a tremendous improvement (both looks & rules wise) on the old one. I'm one of the ones who bought their box at Gen Con and for the record, I'm a lady but not a lesbian.
  4. I am loving your work on this diorama! Please don't sell yourself short - if my Infamy minis look half as good when I finally get around to painting them, I'll be really pleased!
  5. Just as another note, the Oiran are now just 10T models not dual faction 10T/Outcasts.
  6. I was admiring your work at Gen Con. It's nice to see some pictures of it without the display case glare. Love your colour choices!
  7. Had the pleasure of seeing your models up close at Gen Con - your painting and base were both fantastic, as always. Kind of bummed out that I didn't get to meet you though - I had a lot of sculpting & painting classes along with True Dungeon and didn't get to spend too much time in the Malifaux areas outside of Friday evening.
  8. Hmm, I had no problem ordering from the Wyrd store last year. As I recall, my Gen Con order got to me in Canada with no issues in about 3 weeks.
  9. Yes! Need some fan service for us ladies!
  10. I know I've said it before, but your painting is amazing! I think I have to stop looking at your thread until after GenCon though - kinda makes me feel like entering the painting contest with my own models is pointless. *sobs over paint tray*

  12. I would also LOVE to have a painting and/or sculpting seminar from you at GenCon! I am in awe of your painting & sculpting skills.
  13. Come out for a 4 week Thanksgiving/Christmas league & painting contest at the Games Nook, 1855 Lasalle Blvd. (next to Rhythm & Cues), (705)566-7885, starting on November 10, 2012 from 7-9 pm. Judging for the painting contest will occur on the 4th night of the league (Nov. 29th). To enter, you must have a painted crew (Master + 20ss worth of models). You may use a Master previously submitted for one of our painting contests, but you can not reuse any other models. Models must be painted by the person submitting them. For more details, contact evaine@hotmail.ca EDIT: added store phone number.
  14. In addition to the Halloween story event, we're having a painting contest! Judging will take place on Friday, October 26 at the Games Nook from 7-9 pm. A prize will be given for the best painted crew (20 soulstones or more). All painting must be the work of the person submitting the crew. Contact leap.sudbury@gmail.com for more information.

  16. Interested in Malifaux? Come out and give it a try!
  17. How did that poor girl afford breast implants when she can't even afford clothes? I really am happy to see most of the thought on the thread regarding this model though. Even though I covered up Taelor's under-boob due to personal preference (I don't think a hardened criminal would go into battle with her boobs flopping around), I have no problem with nude models. Many of them are well done & quite beautiful, falling into the category of art. This one, however, makes me think of a 12 year old boy drawing a picture of what he thinks a naked woman looks like & yelling "boobies!" while doing it. I definitely agree that Wyrd's women actually look like real women. As a geek mom, I'm hoping that my daughter will some day take an interest in my miniature hobby. If she does, I will have no qualms showing her my Wyrd models. This one though? I wouldn't even let it into my house.

  19. Don't forget economics as well. A lot of people (I'd actually probably say most) can't afford to drop $500 in one shot on non-essential items. I certainly can't. So my Gen Con purchases will be limited to exclusive models, the new book, and maybe 1 or 2 other models. The rest will have to be bought slowly over time as I can afford them, thus sending money to the smaller retailers.
  20. I think Reindhold is an excellent suggestion & you should be eternally grateful to the obviously very intelligent friend who suggested it. =D
  21. Thanks again for all the advice. I'll have to try out several of these suggestions, assuming my friend is willing to keep playing Raspy. I do own the Student of Conflict too, I just forgot to include him in my list - I was typing it from memory. I'll go add him as soon as I finish posting this. As far as getting my Freikorps off the painting table, it's just a friendly game so he's quite willing to let me proxy. I had considered taking Von Schill as a Henchman or the Librarian for support.
  22. Thanks for all the replies. I really do appreciate all the help I can get. Tiny & Dumb Luck, I appreciate that the Freikorps would be very effective against Raspy - I've beaten her before with them. That being said, I'm trying to figure out how to beat her with the Viks. There may come a time where I'm in a Fixed Master game where I have to take my Viks and I'd like to have at least an idea of what to do. Like I mentioned, I'm not great at changing my attack strategy when playing Malifaux - I never played any other mini games, so I'm a little behind the curve when it comes to wrapping my head around things. Most of my gaming background is RPGs, so for 20+ years I've done co-operative combat situations on the table top. I still feel a little guilty the rare times I destroy my opponent. Also, I like playing my Viks. They're the reason I started playing Malifaux in the first place. On a side note, I'm a her not a him
  23. Thanks Boscotopia, CannibalBob, and Rathnard for the advice. Malifaux is the first miniature game I've played and I'm still somewhat slow when it comes to thinking outside of my usual play style. We haven't got our next game in due to a nasty summer cold my friend contracted, but we'll be playing again this weekend. I'll definitely use some of your suggestions. I don't think I've used Bishop once since my very first game of Malifaux - I'll have to dust him off & give him a try. I guess I should have expected Marcus' main PR agent to make the unorthodox suggestion
  24. Thanks for the advice. We're playing again tonight, so I'll have to give it a try. Never thought to charge through the Snow Storm.
  25. Definitely like the idea of David Tennant as Hamelin. Personally I see Milla Jovovich as Viktoria. Maybe I'm just too big a Resident Evil fan... Von Schill is totally Michael Ironside in my head. Can't picture anyone else playing him.
