I agree about the shiny factor. I prefer my models to be dull and grimy......too many bright colours and it puts me off! I do however think the basis for some good minis is there. Try a matt varnish or none at all next time, and see what happens. On a second glance they kind of look cartoony? I don't know if that is the effect you were going for, but they do look like they could have stepped right out of Scooby-Doo! And strangely, despite my earlier comments, I kind of like that! But still too shiny for my taste And bases do need something on them, that would help a lot.

To be honest I never tend to watch the American versions of British shows, as I have been disappointed in the past. I never liked the American version of The Office, or Life on Mars for that matter. So I will stay away from Being Human US as I feel from your description I may again be disappointed. But to be honest, I am never usually a fan of remakes in general as if it ain't broke, why try to fix it? Knight Rider, for example.

Maybe a Guild version could have Sonnia on the outside with the basic message ' To My Valentine ', and on the Inside could read 'From your (witchling) Stalker ' ? And very bad but a Perdita one could have a Pic of her on the front with ' For Valentines I want to shower you in Flowers... ' And on the inside ' Ortega you to Bed! ' (or take -a you to bed). Ok, bad. Tumbleweed blows across the silent landscape.... I'll get my coat.... edit: and an attempt at a Lady J one. On the front a pic of our fair maiden with the caption ' Let Justice be done.....' with the inside reading ' You should be my Valentine ' I have a feeling it will be difficult to get Lucius and Hoffman ones!

Just out of interest, is there a link to anywhere that has all the puppet versions for download? I could scan my books in but don't want to ruin the spines, and so want to get the artwork without the words!!

I will add my vote to Lilith as a good counter for the J-bird. As two of the master's I am currently learning, games between them have been interesting, close and above all, fun! Plus, the minis are very nice!!

I must stand up for MAelstrom Games, I have had nothing but good stuff from them. Once they sent the wrong products (sniper scouts instead of normal). I emailed them, had a reply within six minutes!! I sent the wrong product back (they paid postage) and the correct package turned up two days after! Also this week, i ordered the last few Guild Models i need to have the complete collection (to date), on Monday (24th). It was packing on Tuesday, and arrived on Thursday! (and that was with 2nd class post). So, either I'm very lucky or Maelstrom are pretty much good at what they do. i guess its always the case of we always hear complaints when something goes wrong, but never get to hear the times it all goes smoothly! And the royal Mail do have an indifferent attitude to deliveries these days too, it seems!

Like it a lot! I plan on doing something similar for my lilith crew, black & white, but with cloth in red. Haven't found the time to start yet though!!

Maybe they will just put the Book 1 character stats at the back of Book 3, effectively making the new rules manual the new book 1?!! And in the meantime, have a PDF available onsite with the stats until Book 3 is released? Then I guess they could just bin the old Book 1. Then new players would still have access to the older character stats without having to buy the figures. And as for the fluff, well it could be simply posted on the website, rather like the Chronicles? So, in case I have confused you as much as I have confused myself: New rules manual & temporary PDF with Book 1 Stats Rising Powers as normal Then Book 3 with the Book 1 stats in the back as an appendix.

Ok, A bit of a light hearted post, and I hope its not been done before (or at least recently) but: I notice a lot of us run several different crews. But what if by a cruel twist of fate, you were only allowed to run a single master from now on.....who would you choose, and why? For myself, even though I am still finding my feet in the game, I would definitely say Lady J for me. Apart from the stellar models and access to all that Guild goodness, I just find her easier to play with, and more fun too. I think she's a great starter crew, though if I was stuck with her forever, I would hope I could always find new tricks to pull off!

Hey Deuce, Is that first pic that lady from Mad Men? Whomever it is, if a malifaux movie is ever made, she would be a cert for Lady J. Start the online petition now.....

Need a crew? GUILD GUILD GUILD!

Ok, I have a lot of models to build and was wondering what you guys think is the best superglue available (I'm in the UK) for sticking metal figures together, along with any tips. I know a lot of the models will probably require pinning as well, but as a complete novice to that, I was wondering what glue(s) you may recommend.
