  1. You can play the Molly box as is, but you will need to realize that it lacks killing power outside of summons (which would generally be an additional purchase, as summoning back crooligans hardly helps with killing) and Molly's own attack spell. You wouldn't be hugely competitive against players with free selection of models, but against certain other boxed sets you could do fine. For instance, the Molly box set is much better at running schemes than the Rasputina box, and has certain ways (impossible to wound, hard to wound, the mist -> soft cover) to mitigate Rasputina's killing advantage. In this case, your scheme running advantage is so big that if the scheme pool is some combination of scheme marker schemes and interact schemes (distract/cursed object), with no killy schemes you can almost guarantee a Molly box win. In another example, the Somer box is a matchup where your Crooligans might feel somewhat killy, as bayou gremlins are pretty squishy. I'm sure there are other boxes where the Molly box as is could hold its own, especially with a good scheme pool. Conversely, yes, there are boxes that would present stiff challenges to the Molly box. I don't think a starter box vs free and open crew selection list, will be a fair fight in most cases (again, there are a few exceptions).
  2. Casts Blistering Fog. Grats to Pinky(aaron) and the Brain!
  3. Regarding art spoilers in printed work: I think he meant stuff like Chronicles. For instance the Ice Dancer art was spoiled in a Chronicles earlier this year (possibly even just before the wave 3 beta, can't remember by now). The Arcane Emissary was also spoiled a long time ago in a Chronicles, on the cover I think. Oxfordian Mages were also in a Chronicles before book 2 was released with their art. And there are many other examples that could be brought forth if my memory worked better. Perhaps not "printed" by traditional standards of paper and ink, but perhaps you could say "published" instead.
  4. And beware the potentially hilarious autocorrect mistakes.
  5. FWIW, "bars" is likely autocorrect for "bases" (similar location of letters on a standard QWERTY keyboard), easy to miss if autocorrect changes it without asking for confirmation. Color me interested, though I do hope it uses proper mechanics for the scale of the game. One of my huge pet peeves for Warmachine/Hordes is that there is constant pressure to play with more and more models, but the game still resolves around individual model activation resolutions (even when activating a "unit"), so can take stupidly long to play if neither player offers up an easy assassination. This 'problem' is compounded by having certain extremely simple game mechanics that would otherwise suggest a quick game.
  6. I know, I was simply making a comment on the model and art.
  7. It is difficult to tell as she is missing most of what typically defines a person as female.
  8. Packing of orders doesn't even start until August 5th when the Wyrd team returns from Gencon, so you'll likely be good. I love the new store, shipping, and everything about the process this time. I have had issues in the past but this time it was completely painless (except for the wallet part, but no nerve endings there so I'm fine). I wish I had more money to throw at Wyrd.
  9. First $100+ order in. Debating on second order. Might just support FLGS (assuming I can get them to bring in product). Shipping was not bad though, so quite happy there.
  10. Keep Calm and Order More Product!
  11. Funny but true. With all the models being mercenaries, you could have a list with both henchmen and both enforcers from the starter box in the same crew (assuming you're doing a Neverborn or Guild crew). If you do a non-Guild/Neverborn crew, as mercenaries you could still take both henchmen or both enforcers... Silly Neverborn Crew Leader: any neverborn master Henchman: Angeleyes & Dr. Grimwell Enforcers: Nurse Heartsbane & Scion of Black Blood Minions: Bloodwretches etc...
  12. I get the same "resource not found" page when I click on the link you provide Aaron. I get the same error when I go to the Resources page and click on either the picture for the Vassal download or the words "Vassal Module". Perhaps it is a permissions thing if you can access it but we cannot?
  13. Darn these thousands of miles of ocean between me and civilization...
  14. I'm not seeing a significant difference (other than the domain name). Is that just me?
  15. But when will those models be out? j/k I know you're not in production...
  16. Brewmaster is Book 1 and I'm happy for Wyrd that they've finally gotten him out.
  17. Hmmm, as both are Mercenaries, you could stick both, together, in any crew you make. Just for the giggles.
  18. The full rulebook will have: Rules for Wave 1* models (essentially army lists). General background stories and short individual background stories for each model entry. More art. *Wave 2 models are in the Crossroads book, with Wave 3 models coming out in the new Shifting Loyalties book to be released at Gencon. Note that models come with their rules on stat cards in the model's packaging (assuming you buy new models and not older versions of models or second hand models), so you don't need the model rules in the books to play. Having the model rules available can help you plan your purchases, so I do suggest getting the full rulebook, Crossroads, and Shifting Loyalties at some point in time. Wave 1 & 2 models are also available in the respective Arsenal Decks, though those Arsenal Decks are primarily meant for players with older models from the previous version of Malifaux to be able to play with their models without having to rebuy the models for stat cards. As a new player this shouldn't be an issue for you unless you buy models secondhand or visit the 'out of production bin' at your game store (which may still have some version 1 models available).
  19. Set Contains 2 Crews (8 models) 8 Stat Cards 2 Upgrade Cards 2 Quick Reference Cards Quick Start Booklet Free Digital Rules Manual 2 Fate Decks 2 Measuring Tapes I'm not sure what the Digital Rules Manual will consist of, but I would imagine that the Digital Rules Manual is similar to the physical Rules Manual, which contains only rules for the game, and no model rules or background stories. http://giveusyourmoneypleasethankyou-wyrd.com/collections/m2e-books-accessories/products/wyr20009 Sigh, I really should refresh before posting...
  20. Heresy. Wearing a hat and carrying a spare is the only way to ensure always having a hat on the dangerous streets of Malifaux. Do you know how unfashionable it is to not have a hat? Obviously you're not a gremlin player. The only thing better than a larger hat is more hats!
  21. That's what I meant with the add-ons comment, though I could have been more clear. Did they finally catch up on Book 1? I recall a few (non-brewmaster crew box) models were outstanding until recently.
  22. Yes, as of Gencon '15, all of the Book 1 and 2 Masters will be available in plastic. No known Book 3 masters, so yeah, Wyrd will be caught up, with just add-on (non-crew box) models waiting for release.
