  1. Was planning to bring Sybelle as she's the only one I have nicely painted

  3. Definitely sign me up for the Saturday please Dave.
  4. Just to point out the Lure doesn't go off if you flip a 3 as it has a TN of 12. It's a tad ambiguous with your final point as to whether you mean you cheat or not, but I thought I ought to point this out. I think we are all on the same page though. All of your other points are however good ones, although if you have to cheat yourself 3 times with reasonable cards it's still quite a resource drain especially if you have a split hand. 3 3s does suck though. To add my own experience to the debate, I played a game on Friday vs Lynch with Seamus. As a bit of background, myself and my opponent have played Malifaux since the 1st edition, have previously helped with play-testing new bits for Malifaux. We both attend UK tournaments with my opponent having placed top 3 on a few occasions so I'd like to think we have some idea as to what we are doing lol. Although I wasn't playing a "Belle-spam" list I did end up with 4 Belles on the table for the majority of the game. With the "Not too banged up" upgrade on Sybelle Lure is pretty nasty especially if your opponent doesn't have any movement shenanigans to get their models back out of trouble. I managed to kill Graves with the combination of 2 Belles Luring and double pouncing on him. (essentially 6 Ml AP from 2 Activations) I can now see much more how a "Belle-spam" list can output damage, with the shear amount of attacks normally on a isolated model the chances are you're going to do weak damage every time and you kill models with death by a thousand cuts. My opponent wasn't aware of this discussion on the forum so afterwards we had a chat about it and discussed whether we thought from the brief experience in the game we played that "Belle-spam" was a problem. We both agreed that any situation where a model is spammed for any reason tends to indicate there's a problem in our view as we feel that varied, at least semi-thematic crews should be competitive. It is debatable as to whether Belles are being spammed in general as there's a clear example of someone in a specific group being very successful with such a list however we are yet to see it over here in the UK in tournaments or otherwise. We both also came to the conclusion (remember neither of us have actually played with/against a full on "Belle-spam" so this is just theoryfaux) that in our experience, with the level of terrain we tend to play on and with the crew compositions that we encounter etc, we were struggling to see how the Belle-spam could be so successful in one play group. We agreed that the NPE factor would be large for the opponent and the crew would be competitive but the utter domination seems a tad strange. I think this thread is a brilliant idea and very constructive, however I think we need to be careful about saying things are overpowered, unbeatable etc. without the trend shown in the Chicago group of players being replicated elsewhere. Obviously that's what this thread is for and I hope to be able to get some games in with a pure "Belle-spam" list in future to see what's what.
  5. I think with pigs it's important not to go too pink unless you are going for a cartoonish look. Especially with mud I find pig skin is only slightly pinker than the way human caucasian skin is typically painted... Depends how realistic you are going though I guess.
  6. Hi Guys (and Girls), I'm looking to take my first real foray into using water effects, but obviously don't want to mess up any models I use it on! Any recommendations on products or techniques to use. Pics of your examples would be even better!! I'd rather not use anything too toxic if possible and I'm only using it on a regular gaming base so pouring into a mould etc isn't really what I'm looking for (yet anyway!). Any help would be greatly appreciated.
  7. I'd definitely be interested if you could ship them to the uk!
  8. For this I'd definitely go for Seamus due to the board control capabilities and the power he has with the Flintlock. For deployment I'd pick bottom right as it leaves a nice amount of cover for me to hide in if the opponent goes shooting heavy (think Nino people!), it also has open ground in front of it leaving few places to hide from the flintlock *devil*. My list would be as follows.. Seamus Onryo Onryo Belle Belle Molly Necrotic Machine 4 stones Onryos are in there in case my opponent takes Hoffman, with the Necrotic machine to try to instakill anything that gets a bit too close. More board control. The rest is pretty much standard fare, worst case Seamus will try to make opposing master insignificant. Stay focused on my own strat and schemes then try to deny as much as I can while doing so. Simples *wink*
  9. Hi guys I'm selling all of my terraclips as I don't really use them to be honest. They have been used once with all of the pieces popped out and either bagged or elastic banded together appropriately. The set is only missing one ladder as i broke it as I was taking it out of the backing card. All of the steps are fully assembled and all of the tokens are present. There are 2 connector packs along with the 2 boxes which should allow a full 3x3 board to be made. I'm just looking to make as much money back on this as possible as the sets are absolutely pristine! So ideally I'd like £25 for each set and £10 for the connector boxes + postage. Or £60 for the whole set + postage If you want pics I can email them.

  16. Is that not exactly what I said..?? So either you agree with me or both of our maths are wrong.. I think we should put this H2W vs high Def argument to bed and move on. What schemes do you think are our best and with which masters? I know we don't have any guaranteed 2vps like kidnap or sabotage but which ones do you take and which ones are a definite no?
  17. I disagree that Molly in a Seamus crew is crap, what she provides is exactly what you say a "bad" Seamus however the way I play it is that this then gives Seamus the freedom to go off and achieve objectives/beat face/terrify the opponents crew etc without being tied down to his crew. Also a fast model with a walk of 7 is a little scary whoever you play with.
  18. ^That. Not quite sure where you get that from? The odds of flipping Weak on a straight flip is exactly the same as flipping a Moderate. This then also extrapolates to flips where the probability of 2 moderates is the same as 2 weaks, the deciding factor is that when a moderate and a weak is flipped you have to take the weak making negative flips on damage very powerful. The H2W means that you will be flipping more cards for damage in all likelihood meaning the odds of a weak coming up will not only increase but you will nullify the opponents hand as they will be unable to cheat. Edit: Ninja'd by Karn but I think we pretty much agree, when you are going to have a negative flip anyway yes H2W isn't that big a deal it's when the opponent is going for the straight flip with high cards from their hand that it really comes into its own.
  19. ^ That I dont get where people have got this whole Nico is so bad he's not even worth considering from..
