  1. Looks like the miniatures gaming area will be a little further away from the dealers hall than it was last year. It will be at the back of the 'old' dealers hall (and closer to my hotel!). Still, its just a saunter over to the dealers hall though.
  2. I'd like to recommend Pegasus Hobbies. I bought a number of their stone cottages and have gotten nothing but compliments. and they are cheap too.
  3. I understand that you don't have your Rule Manual with you. I don't have mine either, so I guess anything we say is subject to further review and revisions later. The rules require a separate check for LOS and a check for cover. This is done by a 'top-down' drawing of lines from the attacker to the defender. I am not following how the keep blocking LOS would somehow have an impact on the cover check. I don't recall the lines drawn for the cover check being blocked by blocking terrain.
  4. From the diagram in the post earlier in this thread (found HERE), you can see that a line can be drawn from the 'top' of the Crooked man base to the 'top' the rider base. That line crosses both the keep and the platform. Cover is not granted from the keep because the rider is not within 1" of it. It is granted from the platform (if it is a separate piece from the keep) because the ride is within 1" of that. ---------- Post added at 03:16 PM ---------- Previous post was at 03:14 PM ---------- Hey! Its like you're my doppleganger! Same number of posts and same join date! *grin*
  5. This would really set my weekend off right! I know we've seen bits and glimpses, but I can't wait to see the full sha-bang!
  6. I agree with this interpretation. The rider would have cover from the platform unless it was decided by the players that the platform didn't give cover for some reason. You can draw a line from the Crooked Man to the Rider that crosses intervening terrain (the platform). ---------- Post added at 06:06 PM ---------- Previous post was at 06:02 PM ---------- I would agree that it would depend on whether this were two terrain pieces or one. I assumed it was two. ---------- Post added at 06:08 PM ---------- Previous post was at 06:06 PM ---------- it is impeded by the platform.
  7. Love seeing some Guild stuff. Does the one guy have a wok on his head?

  10. If Tuco casts Taint Loyalty on a Guardian that has cast Protect, what happens to the Protect? Is it voided and has to be cast again or is it just ineffective until Taint Loyalty resolves and then is in effect the next turn? Edit: And just as a refresher, 'Taint Loyalty' removes friendly from the Guardian. 'Friendly Target' is a requirement for Protect.
  11. It can happen, but not very often with Immune to Influence. But I agree that Hoffman wouldn't follow after a lure.
  12. The terrain in 6 is only HT1, so they would have LOS.
  13. This is coming up this weekend. Hope to see you there!
  14. This describes me as well. I feel I am a pretty fast decision maker when it comes to strategy. But I spend most of my turn trying to decide if I am in range or not. As an aside, I find this discussion very interesting. This thread, at least in the beginning, seems very pro pre-measuring. I put this question to my local meta on our Facebook page and they were decidedly anti pre-measuring. I find the two viewpoints very interesting.
  15. Good point! I've only looked at that card a ja-gillion times and never made that connection. Won't my next Colette opponent be surprised?!
  16. Don't know what this means....but it sounds bad!
  17. I think there have been a couple of threads asking this question, so I'll just give what I recall as the summary: Enslaved nephilim Abuela couple of death marshalls couple of witchling stalkers perhaps Executioner http://www.wyrd-games.net/showthread.php?32739-Looking-to-buy-my-first-set-Are-the-Ortegas-a-good-choice&highlight=perdita http://pullmyfinger.wikispaces.com/Perdita+Ortega#Building%20a%20Crew
  18. My sense is pre-measuring would speed things up. I can admit from experience that a good portion of my planning time is spent trying to determine if I am in range or not. If that were taken out of my consideration, my turns would go probably 20-30% quicker.
  19. I have mixed feelings about it, but generally lean towards no pre-measuring. I enjoy the challenge of being able to estimate distances and place myself just where I need to be, without knowing for sure. Of course, I've never played it the other way either, so maybe the change wouldn't be that big of a deal. It'd be worth trying out sometime soon just to see how it affects things.
  20. I just made it myself in Illustrator. Unfortunately, every time I get a new box set or update it, I have to go in and mess with it. Its kind of a pain. ---------- Post added at 09:42 AM ---------- Previous post was at 09:23 AM ---------- And also, anymore I find myself mostly working on additional models outside the boxsets. So even though I am making painting progress, it doesn't show on the meter. I kinda like this idea, but maybe I should move on to a % completed meter or something.
  21. Just to confirm, is this still the prevailing opinion?
  22. Good insight. Thanks!
