  1. Got to agree. His legs seem to be a different scale from the rest of him.
  2. I was looking forward to seeing the non-nightmare Whiskey Golem. Looks very similar, although it looks like it's had a bit of rhinoplasty done.
  3. Lenny's aura doesn't count as a flip, therefore it does not count towards Luck o' the Draw. It would be different if it said it healed for every in the duel total.
  4. Not what I expected at all. The snake, tribal paint and the hat make me want to paint him purple like Witch Doctor from Dota 2. I just hope his rules live up to the design...
  5. I love these write-ups. Keep them coming, please.
  6. I just thought they were supposed to have wide smiles, not evil. It's hard not to look evil with sharp teeth, though.
  7. "Ze healing is not as rewarding as ze hurting". Not sure if anyone will get that. Maybe I should take a leaf from Malal's book. I feel like Slophaulers slow the crew down a fair bit, even with Reckless (4" move, then heal). You can Saddle, Toss etc. but that of course means no carting Lenny about or launching Francois into someone's face. I still love them, but I can remember games where they just weren't ideal and that's not a complaint.
  8. I rather hope that the Gremlin Emissary rides pigs into battle (and is a Gremlin).
  9. Oh man you're right, she's almost staring straight into the brim of her hat.
  10. Wouldn't want to play Knifey-Spooney with Mah... Bit of a gravity-defying hat there on the Little Lass, though.

    Gators

Anyone use these hefty creatures? So-so defense, poor willpower and worst of all, insignificant. They can't plant scheme markers, can't remove scheme markers, can't recover from the Distracted condition and can't lift heads in Headhunter. What they do have is Melee Expert, Ruthless, Unimpeded, sweet triggers and small push. Also McTavish has the option of Mud Toss. I love the idea of Gators but I'm put off by their lack of ability to contribute to so many schemes/strategies. So how have they worked out for you?
  12. It's the Insignificant that kills the Gators for me. Good luck trying to use them in Headhunter.
  13. I don't think we could even really have a functional faction without Slop Haulers so yes, thanks are owed to the beta testers! As for the rooster rider, I'm looking forward to trying them when the plastics eventually hit. They seem the very definition of glass cannons.
  14. So you're a fan of the Pig-a-pult then? Ace. I enjoyed reading your mini-reports. Well done, Verdeloth.
  15. I'm sure someone will give you a more direct answer, but you should check out the GMorts Chaotica unboxings. Specifically, look at the "Starter Sets" for M2E under each faction. Most of them will outline what the rough maximum soulstone costs from each box are.
  16. Ah, I meant Black Joker on the damage flip. Thanks for the quick reply.
  17. Surprised this hasn't come up yet for me but still, the text for Grab On reads: Grab on: After damaging, target gains the Slow condition. End this models activation. Is the activation forcibly ended even if the model fails the duel or flips a Black Joker?
  18. Don't forget the good ol' flipping an 13 followed by an Ace via . Nice article. Some examples on how to turn a losing into a draw or even a win would be nice as a follow-up.
  19. Well the combo seemed much less worthwhile when I realised that Lenny is "immune" to Fast. Ah, but the idea isn't to get Reckless for "free", it's to get both Reckless and Fast. Student of Conflict's only 4SS as well. Oh well, back to the drawing board.
  20. That must have been a serious relief! I wasn't as lucky with a Bayou Gremlin's arm and foot but there's a bit more leeway when green-stuffing those, I think.
  21. I was wondering about the viablity of a Lenny, Pig-a-pult and Student of Conflict combo. Forgive me if someone has suggested this already. The initial caveat is that fast requires (2) so she'd have to be immobile and deploy within 4" of both of her recipients. That's a potential 3 piggies Turn 1 and a Fast Pig-a-pult each Turn thereafter. which is very dependent on starting cards. However, you could forgo Lenny for a couple of Stuffed Piglets as cheap ammo. Also, if push comes to shove, you could always Launch her into engagement. Main problems I see are the soulstone invesment and the fact that at least 14ss worth of models can't interfact. Not too great for Headhunter unless you've got something else to pick up the markers. Similarly, for Guard the Stash, that's the same amount of models that can't contribute to the Strategy.
  22. Even if you get nothing in your hand, it also means you've just burnt two trash cards. Worth a soulstone? Perhaps not, but it's not a meaningless action considering you're not going to flip them now. Same here, but I'm starting to reconsider since it also imposes a to the damage flip. Not only does it increase the chance of lower damage, it likely prevents them from cheating. If nothing else, you're making them burn cards. Interesting blog post since it's such a difficult mechanic. You need to know your own crew well, know your opponent's crew and be able to think several moves ahead. Considering all the models that can generate cards, flips or soul stones, it gets even more complicated!
  23. Painting looks lovely and clean. I particularly like the Waldegeists.
  24. I think this is sort of the problem with focusing so much on one game, not that I blame anyone since we're commenting on what's available. It's up to everyone to try out more Ulix so thanks Bodiless. A Warpig being able to charge two separate models and still end up within Ulix's 6" SitR range seems out of the ordinary whether it's due to unfortunate placement or insufficient terrain. You don't want to be up in a War Pig's face regardless of who is leading the crew. A is going to allow it to pinball anyway via its trigger. I imagine a deathstar approach, surrounding Ulix with big pigs (and possibly Lenny) would seriously limit his area control on a good table. You're making yourself weaker to Lure and should have trouble locking down scheme runners. Anyway, thanks Hateful Darkblack for actually trying him and posting your thoughts.
  25. Absolutely. You can target the same model three times (although it may be compelled to leave the 6" range) but there's a number of downsides compared to a typical Obey like Zoraida's. You can't target an enemy, you can only declare charges, you require a each time, you can only target pigs, it's got half the range of Obey and if the enemy's killed, the pig can rebound onto friendly models. I'm not saying it's a bad ability, however I don't think it's fair just to say he shouldn't be able to generate that sort of AP compared to other Masters. I'm aware that not everyone thinks that but it's a very specialised and specific kind of AP production. In general, I think the Piggy list that Ulix relies has a number of perhaps unique downsides that people just aren't used to. Among the more obvious is that you basically have no shooting and the crew has to clump up by design or lose the effect of auras (and control of the pigs). Someone earlier in the thread referenced the game's meta and I think that's very relevant. A number of games have had that faction or character which seems overpowered when introduced and then slowly creeps down the rankings as people become wise to their tricks and aware of their downsides. If he's not tearing up and dominating at higher levels of play, that's a good sign to me.
