  1. Consider a performer or two if you're attempting any poison stuff, plus they scheme around people, which can be handy in some situations. I'd consider this for head hunting, put on negs, lure, then slice. Fingers could easily be subbed then no need for the terracotta. Just start with misdirection, grab it either way, let brewie dump hits onto samurai as needed. Can always obey on the samurai to shoot, too. 50 SS Ten Thunders Crew The Brewmaster + 5 Pool - Running Tab (2) Fingers (10) Samurai (8) - Favor Of Earth (0) Wandering River Monk (7) Performer (6) Performer (6) Terracotta Warrior (5) Akaname (4) (exported from CrewFaux)
  2. Yeah he's best for the no cheat aura imo.
  3. The charge debuff is the reason for that upgrade and it has saved so many models, that is one upgrade I'd be hard not to take. Don't think I've pulled off the reaching part. I think 7 stones is crucial for her or any summoner.
  4. Shenlong + peasant or kamaitachi then other stuff
  5. Succeed simply means win the duel even if no damage happened for whatever reason.
  6. Yasunori, teracotta, ama, plus your favorite scheme runner or cheap activations. Some of my favorites are low river monks, wandering river monks, and 10t bros. Also a fan of effigy.
  7. Yeah really unsure what you're getting at here. Emissary can get the double focus with an ace, give out fast with no TN (upgrade required) and still shoot something using that free focus, then use a 0 action. Yu is great, just definitely not totally better than the Dragon. They are a bit different, though have plenty of similarities all for similar price in ss.
  8. I fully agree regarding 10t bro they are good, not op.
  9. The emissary has to damage with an ace discard.
  10. Samurai are worth it, especially with lynch. They output decent damage, survive with armour and dig for aces very well. I'd say them vs snipers is more of a play style choice and both are viable. I'm not a big fan of sh5 on either of them though. To the sniper's case the long range and from the shadows means you can get a shot or two starting turn one.
  11. Tanen is probably best for his no cheat aura and slowing down aggressive models. The summon helping is going to be very situational.
  12. Sounds like you need more practice with her and get Yasinori. Yu is not that useful with her after my testing which was discussed in the long Asami thread. Betty is ok, though not great. She is best at handing out 6 damage on one hit. I don't like her with Asami much as I want my high cards for summoning mostly. Keep playing her, she is on par with Shenlong once dialed in how she works. Just like him she's versatile.
  13. I used to as well, now I try to find 2pts for wandering river monk instead.
  14. I like the summon trick there. I've done that with killing a summoned peasant, though this sounds easier.
  15. I'm a fan of ama no zako, especially with asami for more flying 1ap charges. Though this might be tainted by my love for her looks too. The above are also good suggestions. Really depends on what gap you are looking to fill. The two models you have will most likely suit your needs for beaters.
  16. 2ss for two activations, that alone makes them worth considering. They also get a fair amount of schemes in place for blowing into place and help shen power up with conditions. Late game they might garner you a free ss if you're lucky and they can contest many scheme marker based schemes. For a more forward active play style, kamaitachi is a good choice too. Best used with lots of upgrade switches. Otherwise, he does not need anything being so versatile. Some call him a suport master, which he certainly can be, though he also can beat well, scheme well, pin things well, tank decently. Versatility is his key trait. Utilizing this at the right moments is crucial to over coming the fact that at most of those things I listed there are better and more specialized models/masters available. Back to op. Because of the above I won't give any specific lists, rather pose the question of how you want to play him different and then fill gaps based on that which he is not covering for a particular strat/scheme. In the right circumstances, all models in 10t can fit into a shen list. Do you need more bodies for the strat? Does something need to die, who will do the killing? Am I distracting and surviving? How fast do I want to be able to move? Am I dancing around and never engaging? Who does the work if my 1-2 scheme runners are offed? There are many ways to play and win with Malifaux. Strategy and schemes make a lot of difference in what works well in a list. All this and we have not even covered looking at opposing faction and standard choices for your meta.
  17. There are some good threads of masters in the forums and for each unit pull my finger is a great place to start. Are you new to 10t or Malifaux? Having miniatures who can kill each other is often distracting from playing to win in this game for example.
  18. I agree here, Misaki is fun and can be competitive, her box is full of models I almost never run. If you want a model to kill things dead, Yasunori is the beater to reach for imo, not Ototo. I suppose the plus to attack from Torakage is nice, however, most times I'd give sword to a dog in the first place.
  19. I think at this point it's rather easy to play 10t without any infiltration. Was not the case early last year with many models still waiting on their models to release.
  20. Ha, first step! That's a good one. Been playing miniature games for over 20 years, this is definitely not my first step.
  21. I looked it up on beginning of activation effects, Pg 33 states that if you have multiple at the start of activation effects, you choose the order, so they are not simultaneous.
  22. If already clamped on, it does allow you to stay with them if they succeed with disengaging strike out gets away by some other means. If they fail the disengaging strike or simply move with in engagement you're going to get to strike them for real. Here's one... Are clamp down tests simultaneous if multiple traps are engaging a model? If so multiple tests can be forced.
  23. So I'm about to play my sixth master in 10t and Yan has got the go ahead. So what are your tips and tricks you use with him? Who do you like in a list with him? Any go to strats or schemes? Any you avoid with him? Currently planning this as my first trial...
