  1. +1 for geek games. I cant wait to see him get in to a good sized place with plenty of tables. Fingrs X it will be ready for the easter torny im hopping to run ( rabbit based hopping pun was intended) If you ever want a game stick up a post on http://www.leeds-nightowls.co.uk/forums/index.php and we will see what we can do
  2. First things first.. you need tools Good pair of clippers that have a flat edge... (as much as i hate to say it GW are the best that i have found but they are pricy.) http://www.games-workshop.com/gws/catalog/productDetail.jsp?catId=cat470006a&prodId=prod1095448 Razor saw helps cutting items from tabs that are too chunky for the clippers. (again a gw link as im on the site but there are loads of cheaper places to get the saw from.) http://www.games-workshop.com/gws/catalog/productDetail.jsp?catId=cat470006a&prodId=prod1095446 Files a set of files with differing profiles will help you get rid of mould lines as well as any rough sectiols left from sawing or clipping. Drill and Pins again a good set of drill and pins help fixing the finer sections together and will add strength to the joins. I use ( another GW tool but cheeper are availble) http://www.games-workshop.com/gws/catalog/productDetail.jsp?prodId=prod1095460 As for pins i like paper clips but you can use brass rod If you use brass rod dont use your miniture clippers or saw to cut it as its way to hard for that. this guide should be able to help if you dont know how to pin [ame] [/ame] A sharp craft knife is a must. Make sure the knife is always razor sharp as the more pressure you need to make a cut, its deforms the cut and increases the risk of you slipping and hacking in to your fingers. With my spiders I used a sharp knife to trim the main body from the tab. I then used clippers to get the other 2 legs off. The legs come with a small rod that is ment to help pin hte leg to the main body so dont clip that off. I then used a file to remove the mould lines I then use the pin vice to redrill out the chinmy on the spiders back a quick dry fit to make sure the rods fit in the holes. dabe of glue and on to the next one. If you ever get stuck and are not sure how to fit a miniture together Just stick up a post for help.
  3. How about a combine harvister ?:hmmmm: Im from leeds UK and we are getting a good few gamers playing now.
  4. well if you have a fast unit that can walk 27" a turn and an ability to swap placed with show girls it does get you to bounce round the table loads.
  5. ***** Disclaimer: i mean the following post as helpful and not a dig at any forum peeps. I have read though it a few times and i cant stop it from sounding diggy if taken the wrong way so please dont take it that was Look i even used a pink elephant to make it more friendly ****** So you flip Deliver a message and then pick a crew thats only got HT1 minions? In a friendly game just ask to reflip it as you are wanting to play a crew that would not do well at that scheme. In a torny its up to you to pick a crew that will do well under the tornys conditions. Its like picking up a screwdriver and complaining it cant chop wood. :elefant:
  6. I use Iron powder and vinigar for heavy rust. (can also be used as stink bombs if needed) With the powder you can build up for a pitted affect. I do still have uses for the original ink and the winsor stuff is good for that But if im wanting a wash for general shadeing i use hte GW new stuff. I have been tempted by monpoc stuff but no one plays it in my area and im a henchman for malifuax so im not going to be pushing another game.
  7. Its not quite ready yet needs to get some cookies
  8. With the peace keeper. If he forgets take the peace keaper and put in in a spare sock and Sock-keeper the cheater with it. :damnmate: In this game its easy to make slips like that. In friendly games you let stuff slide and then take the mick about them cheating to try to beat you. ( in a light hearted way.) In tornys its harder I would say that you need to be clued up on hte rules for any faction that you are faceing and need to check your opponant is playing correctly. Its easy enough to take back one move but if its been going on all game then you will have to let it slide as otherwise youhave to replay the game.
  9. Welcome to the forum Just pick 2-3 getting every master is i abit much just to start with, get them painted up and looking good. gGo out and offer people intro games at your local store or games club. Cover all the basics of the game play and have fun, dont get boged down with the rules and getting every thing exactly right as you are still learning the game. If you do have a rule thats a problem dont stop the game for it make up a solution on hte spot and then cheack the rules book later or on line to get the right way of playing it. have fun as the game only gets better the more you play.
  10. The Winsor and newton are good inks. I used them over hte GW one for years.. even when working for GW. Ahhh good memorys of pouring the Winsor ink in to the GW pots so we could use them on the shop floor. That said Devlin mud one of the new GW inks are fantastic. I use them neat for a heavy wash and then they thin well with just water/paint for tinted glase. I now use them over the winsor stuff If you mix the mud with the blue ink you get a great smoke for silver metalics.
  11. Well got a few games in with a good player at the club (rob played you at the torny).. Lost both games. Both due to initiative flips… all 4 I cheated and then flipped lower, I mean lower than a 5 on a reflip. Ahh well they where good games and I learned loads about what I picked for my crew. Gamin. Man I love them sooooo hard they gave me a great opportunity in the first game against collett. The Coryphee did a long range move late in the first turn I managed to get off my defensive trigger that froze the Coryphee in the middle of my crew and if I had first activation I could have dropped the thing with a shattering Gamin and 3 electrical fires from Ramos and tot. but it was not meant to be and I lost the int flip. The gamin can do this to any big guys that you want to try to isolate and nuke down. These guys make great stalling units 5 wounds armour 1 and with arcing shield def 6. I will be keeping them in my crew. At 30 and 40 ss as long as my strategy is more defensive and I don’t need to attack as quickly. Coryphee I used the duet in my 40ss game and I would be using them again as the duet. I don’t think I would like using a 7ss unit with only 4 wounds. Also with out other show girls about you are losing a lot of utility. But dam is it nice to have a walk 9 that’s fast on the table. ( I may try out a Ramos leading dancing girl crew as a bit of fun. ) If I have a stratergy that means I have to get some where in my opponants ½ of the table quickly then I will probably take this over the 2 garming and gun smith. The Gun smith Only used in one game and he made one shot and killed Perditas totem and then got nuked down by an Ortega alpha strike so not a lot of feed back for him atm. I did not try out the SS miner but I may use him over the Coryphee for a cheaper quick attacking unit. I just need to make up a proxy for it.
  12. ok been reading up last night. mechanical rider with this proxi http://www.maelstromgames.co.uk/index.php?act=pro&pre=prp_wmc_cyx_unt_521_000 Keris (winged flame woman probabaly got hte name wrong) for 8 ss Drop the single spider and get 2 giant SPA for 7 net ss spent Coryphée again for 7ss take both hte Gunsmith and the convict for 6ss one of them is probabaly how im going to play it im going to have to havea few games to figure out how im wanting it. As for my tool kit im going for a steampunk R2D2 for the proxi. i have the barrel for hte main body and will plasticard up the legs and stuff.
  13. Ramos Mobile Tool Kit (3) SPA Swarm (9) SPA (3) Convict Gunslinger could be a gunsmith but i have to try a few games with them (6) with 9ss left depending on what im trying to get done in the game Coryphée its great for getting out and grabbing objectives and injecting much needed speed. I am also thinking of 2 garmin for some ranged power. a large spider could also be good and would leave you with a massive SS cash. Going to have to play a few games and see how they get on
  14. well after seeing your crew im taking ramos alon as well Im going to be going with ramos Tool kit 3 Arachnid swarm 9 1 single arachnid 3 That gets me the core of my crew @ 15 pts. The rest will depend on what i have to get done. ps whats the email to send the lists back though to as i kinda might hae lost it :footinmou? have a look here to see how im getting along with putting hte crew together http://www.leeds-nightowls.co.uk/forums/index.php?topic=1904.msg13293#new
  15. There are other masters that can do it. do you need to pick a main crew and any thing that you take cross faction will cost additional SS Have a look at ramos and Levy for one. There are a few more out there.
