  1. Went to my local comic shop today to paint up my Lady Justice contents and to advertise the game a bit more and try to win my Warmachine/Hordes converts over to also pick up Malifaux. Got my three Death Marshals and the Judge done. Lots and lots of really pretty paint jobs floating on this forum but I'm very hesitant to put a ton of effort into these guys as I get upset when paint gets chipped from handling and play.
  2. Picked up the box today Hope Mike likes it!
  3. I want to pick up a crew box for a buddy as a Christmas present and i know that he is a fan of undead themed stuff when it comes to gaming. So which Resurrectionist box set would have the easiest learning curve. I've been buying Guild minis, another friend has Lillith's Brood and a few odds and ends and I'm trying to get another friend into it and he's really liking the Gremlins at the moment. Thanks!
  4. Dunno if you'd find this way off topic but anyway, I bought most of my Mailfaux stuff at the tail end of last year with another batch when the Totems, Peacekeeper, Guard were out. Haven't played yet as I have no opponents but I've sparked interest with some of my friends to pick up some minis. As silly as this sounds, I was actually surprised based on peoples signatures here that it seems like most people just jump from crew to crew and don't really bother too much with factions. It makes sense but I just wasn't expecting it. I just bought everything for the Guild that was available until Abuela O came. Really tempted to get a bunch of Outcast and Arcanist crews right now though.
  5. I really like the way you do your highlights and shading. I bet they really really pop when on the table!
  6. Ice Golemn paintjob is awesome along with the Acolyte alternate that you built! Rainbow Brite Rasputina will have to grow on me still but it's probably just a complete shift from the usual colours that you see her painted in.
  7. That's too cute! Keep up the great work. I would like to see a mini wargame with figs like this and not the boardgame/RPG/dungeon crawl idea that it seems this game is going to be. I'd be happy with an anie style for minis to be sculpted and the closest thing I've picked up are Anima Tactics stuff but it just follows the themes and not the faces. I wish I had the patience and skill to do pretty free hand.
  8. Good job on these. I hear ya on spotting flaws in the photos and then factor in the image magnifying the model it looks really different. I'm in the process of working on my Lady J box too but it'll be on hold as I'm out of town for a week come tomorrow. Keep up the good work.
  9. I really dig the colour scheme! Pity the pure sap from the opposing crew that runs into them on the other side of the tabletop in some dark alley.
  10. Games I've played this year: Hordes/Warmachine Monsterpocalypse Tannhauser Magic: The Gathering D&D 4th ed. Eberron A Game of Thrones LCG Gloom Aye Dark Overlord Space Hulk I've bought a bunch of other games that I've yet to play like Anima Tactics, Cutthroat Caverns, Illuminati, Red November and my Malifaux stuff just came in this week. Games I use to play: Warhammer 40k Warhammer Fantasy Necromunda Gorkamorka Epic 40k Warzone Chronopia Chainmail Heavy Gear Magi Nation Alien vs Predator tcg
  11. Well guess I'll keep my fingers crossed that mine goes thru smoothly.
  12. Definitely like the run down that you've put here. Being more familiar with the WM/Hordes world, I'm not going in blind now with faction and crew selection once the restock happens
  13. How strong is this game going? I remember playing it back in the mid-late 90's. T'was pretty neat back then and a friend of mine wanted to do the RPG. Played the tactical minis game for a bit but couldn't muster up enough Gears to make it worthwhile back then...then shortly after that, more GW games and Warzone took over our Saturday minis sessions at the store.
  14. Are they ever. It seems like a cheaper plastic and the way they have things attached to the spruces were weird too. I ended up with four copies. Sold one to a friend that we played with on Friday night. Worked through part of mine and am wondering what to do with the other two. I'd like to Ebay them with the minis painted up on one but since I have next to no rating due to my only having three transactions on Ebay, all of which were purchases, I'm not sure if I want to go that route. The game itself though, boy was it a lot of fun. I've played with four people and am the only one to have a Space Marine win. Woot! The game really favours the Genestealer but it's all good, the closest board game experience I've had that reminds me a bit of a video game like Doom and AvP.
  15. Thanks for the welcome. It might start off only needing a few models but you know how things go if people really like it. While I'm not a buy every army/faction guy, I tend to get at least one of everything in my army unless it just blatantly sucks. With the feel of the Malifaux universe, what kind of settings are really being used for the terrain that keeps true to the fluff and feel. Reason I ask this is that I notice so many different base styles specific to crews from the studio minis. I'm a bit OCD with themes and would want for example...all of my Arcanists to have related bases as oppose to Rasputina on snow while Ramos is on something else. Not to mention I would also want a Malifaux terrain set instead of the generic winter one I did for the LGS.
  16. Great work on these! I like the darker look on these ice fans.
  17. Great job. Looking at these, I wonder if there will be a bunch of indian models later.
  18. Good work! I really like how Han especially turned out. The coat looks leathery and the wood grain on the weapon is great. The lenses are gorgeous.
  19. I dig! The blue flames are sweet and Lady J looks sexy. It's full of win!
  20. I picked up a bunch of Wissenchaft figures as well as some Wanderers. Apparently all the Canadian wholesalers have dropped it so my local store can't get anymore for me. It looks like a fun game but seems like the support for it is very difficult to get going and there sure seems to be a lack of solid groups that play based on what I've seen online. I really like the angel 'cept for the "high-five" hand but I'm sure if some puttied on and painted energy effects were done to it it'd look awesome. I really like how their studio minis have those really nice soft light colours. Something I need to learn in the way that I paint.
  21. I pre-purchased two copies. Now I'm wondering if I'll sell off the second one or open it up to have really huge boards and a lot more figures running around.
  22. Hi folks. I'm really interested in Malifaux and love the minis and just am enjoying the look and feel of the game. C'mon, ice witches with cowgirls and teddy bear tot'n demon babies will have to grab attention. Found out about the game from the D6 Generation podcast and would love to add this to my gaming since my return to miniatures this year from my long hiatus since '96. I know that the creators of the game are present and am wondering if they know of any Canadian distributors who carry the product. The games manager at the store I frequent couldn't get anything. Only American wholesaler I recall him mentioning was Indie Games but they didn't have it either when he was inquiring. Looks like I'll have to order online first and hope to build a gaming community with this game like I have been doing with Warmachine and Hordes. I'm always trying to get TCGers and DnD fans to expand into wanting to play with toy soldiers. I hope that these forums really have a strong community feel to it and happy modelling and gaming to all!
  23. What are the general play styles of the three Masters mentioned? Can't buy anything locally so am looking at what I want to order and am inclined towards the Arcanists and Guild minis. Play style wise, I tend to start defensive and wait for the other player to make the first move. So I have a tendency, if terrain permitting, to want to wait around the 40-50yrd line of the board in woods or behind a large building waiting to try and get the charge range.
