  1. I just recently pared these two dudes up and dang I have to say it's rather effective. Where one or two head shot's in a round will drain an opponents hand three or four is deadly unstoppable. Get the right cards with these two and your opponent will be scared to cheat fate the rest of the game, they uses even one card and your third head shot will kill. anyone else uses this 16 inch pair of doom? any hand manipulation available to the guild that would make this pair even more deadly?
  2. sounds like you could use more help over at Wyrd HQ
  3. thanks! i know Chris at knight Fall Games has been wanting to do a painting workshop or clinic or something or maybe we can just paint a bit after one of the local leagues.
  4. another week a few new crews for the local boys. I wanted to push myself with the Seamus crew, so i tried some atmospheric lighting, basically they are in a red light district. I know the red reflection does not make much sense but really it's all about making the models look more "whoreific" I tell you one thing it's the last time i try so many color builds with the same lighting effect, getting it to look the same over each model was HARD, in fact I'm not sure i succeeded
  5. it's amazing what paint will do, i had plained a color scheme for nicodem based on his patchwork coat the box set has him wearing, only to check out the mini and realize he has a normal coat on.
  6. new crew for a long time customer. these guys just looked like the villains from 4 color pulp comics so that's basically what i was going for with the wacky color scheme. (green with blue shadow and yellow highlights)
  7. I love to reuse packaging and the malifaux boxes are just so nice... and I will be damned if i take my rifle case for just five minis. so i made this papercraft box insert to get my minis to and from the game store. It's not going to help you pour people who have 40-50mm based minis in your pack but it's perfect for most of the crews so I thought I would share it. go to www.papercrafted.com for the download just print cut and fold and your done, no glue required.
  8. i just got my cowboys, i plan on using the giuld guard to cordon off all the charge lanes and prevent melee from happening altogether.
  9. i really wonder if Hamelin cant hire totems. The rule book does specificly say model rules trump standard rules.
  10. who are you calling good? tyrannical robber barons that indenture slaves with contracts, and still stoop to necromancy and witchcraft. i think the guild is the worst possible good. why kill someone when you could tax them until their dead?
  11. I have yet to play this game enough to make any judgments one way or another. But I will say this. Game balance is about psychology. And even then it's specific to what kind of play the game is trying to reward. It's very easy to design a TCG that is too balanced. tcg players expect to earn an advantage during the game by carefully constructing their decks. If various groups of cards don't work better together then the game is not rewarding the type of game play they value. From the little I have played I would say crew construction in mailfaux has more to do with the scenario and function then anything else (I think you draft your minis after determining all that stuff right?) Draw assassinate take some DPS models, draw treasure hunt take something fast and durable. Like I said balance is ultimately about psychology. That gut feeling you have right after deployment, to the what if's and should haves of post game speculation. If you feel like you have a chance or at least had one, then that's about as balanced a game can get. Not to say achieving that goal is easy, in fact some people will invent imbalances or even be overly optimistic about about a model that could really do with some improvement. so really your goal is to hit that sweet spot where 20% say it's awesome and 20% say it's janky trash and 60% use it because it looks cool.
  12. honestly i don't see a problem with the units in question. really with the victory condition system this game uses the two serve different roles. also... dude a melee killer that provides it's own armor and cover? what more do you want!
  13. i love the H1 models this game offers, so when i saw Hamelin would give me an excuse to play any of them regardless of my factioni had to ponder over what this could do. you could take candy or baby kade, or maybe even a terror tot and work it up to a mature nephilim. or maybe take an arachnid swarm and eventualy split for 3 separate models. so what do you want to take using Hamelin's Growing influence? i would love to hear of any cross faction tactics you may have. also does this rule allow you to take totems? and if so can you take ANY totem belonging to any specific master?
  14. So I did a little more work and gave up on spelling Malifaux in a mirror fashion. I could get it top read but I just don't have enough time to make it work. Just spelling Fate was enough of a challenge. soi how does the image read is it still ambiguous?
  15. never played them (waiting for flgs to put in order) but i would use papa and another one on their own and then chain 3 of them to waste a model that has yet to activate.
