  1. Duplicolor Sandable Primer. Available at pretty much any auto parts store in the US. White, Light Grey, Dark Grey, Black, and Rust. $5 for a full size rattle can. best primer I've ever used (and it's actually a primer, not a black spray paint like what GW sells).
  2. be aggressive, then sacrifice when you're gonna lose the model anyway. As long as it's early enough in the turn. The Leveticus trick is nice, too. Killjoy still has a hefty price tag, so a cheap totem or a large game is my preference.
  3. your assumption would be incorrect. Zee has it right. Non-unique is the important term there. A non-unique Beast is one of which there are many of in Malifaux. While you might give the December Acolyte the Beast characteristic, that is merely 1 December Acolyte Beast. see this thread for Eric giving the answer.
  4. Lilith looks good. As for advice, darlining where the stockings meet her boots and thighs, where the grip meets the pommel of the sword, and where the hair meets the coat will make it pop just a little more. I've finally started listening to that advice myself this year, and the 2 crews I've painted up look much better than the models I painted a few months before, even though they were painted a bit rougher to get them ready for Gen Con.
  5. Malifaux Matters is probably a better place for this thread, but I like the idea. I agree with NE about the M/W.
  6. If you paid attention at Gen Con, I know he mentioned them at least once. Then again, it was in the booth, and that place was CRAZY!!!
  7. I'd allow it at any local events. She won't be legal for official events, though. Don't think you're too concerned with that, but I'm just putting it out there.
  8. pins in the feet, and a pin vise or exacto handle to hold it. base work is done separately, with the model placed prior to the pin (but after the hole) so i can drill the matching hole in the base before painting. also have a few hemostats (curved and straight) floating around from my days are a body piercer, and they get pressed into service from time to time as well. I've also got a nice fat wine cork, and a tapered cork attached to a 40mm base for holidn models. When I was painting my Otergas, I had 3 pin vises (they've just shown up or been left with me over the years), an extaco handle, and a pair of hemostats holding the models since I was going to be doing their denim at the same time to keep the colors consistent. Witch Hunters saw 3 pin vises, an exacto, and a cork.
  9. It's all good. Even without his abilities, he's an amazing model packed full of little details. He's worth putting in your crew just to put him on the table.
  10. Just wait until redstripe is running around with one, too. She'll be back on the painting table tomorrow and Sunday, actually.
  11. You'd think that was done intentionally or something...
  12. Honestly, any of the Guild boxes are straight forward. With the triggers, they tend to show off why you might want to cheat for a lower number just to get a specific suit. Seamus works similarly, and helps to show off some of the fun that can be had with Willpower.
  13. Love Misaki. She's really versatile, and a nice price for what she can do. Her ability to force a reflip on starting totals can be great sometimes as well. Extending her range to 6" can get you that extra attack you need, and making that attack with Melee Expert leave you free to duck back behind some terrain to protect you from a retaliatory charge. Plus, you get more hot chicks in your crew. In my crew above, there's only one male model. (No, that's not a typo.)
  14. Hey man. haven't seen you since those games at DW last year. If you're back in the Fredneck area next year for this one, you're more than welcome to join us. We'd be happy to have you around.
  15. at in a 30 stone scrap, she gets 5 from me. Resist, heal, or just make sure you kill someone. Either way, Viktorias with stones get vicious. Twins Taelor Convict Misaki Johan
  16. Werecat's got the right idea. Hans tends to be a late turn piece. Explosive ammo into a melee is pretty fun, too. Convict + Hans is pretty fun, and it's a decent way to get a few cards to disappear before the headshot.
  17. ah, good ol' Kev White sculpts. Chaos Dwarf you got there.
  18. well, there are already Silurids, Waldgeists, Hoarcats, Molemen, and the 2 in the Order of the Chimera starter. As for what might come next, only Eric knows for sure.
  19. The response to the costume contest has been even bigger than we imagined. If you're anywhere near the area, this is really shaping up to be an event that should not be missed. Of course, if you're not in the area, there will be a report on the event in an upcoming issue of Wyrd Chronicles.
  20. Marcus approves of your basing plan. Sonnia is still looking at you suspiciously.
  21. TBk beat me to it. I want a scale shot. and what thickness did you start from? I was thinking of something like this myself earlier today.
