One note on Ramos's soulstone count. I asked about this a while ago in the context of balancing starter box tournaments and it was suggested that Ramos's starter box be counted as 19 points - one steamborg and one spider swarm, with the other spiders used for being able to split up. This doesn't align with the *bases* that are included in the box, but it does make the point total much more in line with the other boxes, gives extra spiders so that you're not proxying the instant a swarm splits or builds, and generally seems to come off much more balanced for the starter. And having played Ramos as my first and primary box, once you get the hang of him one steamborg and one spider swarm is plenty to lay some hurt on.

I've been curious to see this get resolved, too...

Pardon me if this has been asked and answered, but I didn't see a thread... Is Leveticus ever going to have a starter box? I see that it doesn't really make sense to give him one now with the miniatures for Hollow Waif / Desolation Engine / etc. not yet out, but it'd be sweet to know whether I should wait to buy the box if there's going to be one or if he's one of those special cases that's just going to go without. I'm played him proxied and I'm really excited about getting him ready to roll for real...

Ok, I think I'm just spoiled for context then, since the other box I own is Zoraida and I haven't pointed everything yet to know all of them. Makes sense to me!

Thanks - to clarify, though, even if the others are parted out, how much would you expect players to field? Just one swarm, with all the other bots parted out so you can split, is only 19 points, which leaves the box undergunned next to almost all the others. You could play it at 25 with a swarm and two singles, I guess, and keep the extra for summoning...

It's probably too early to tell, but what's this going to mean for Ramos in battlebox-style tournaments and the like? He seems to have cornered the market in raw points value, but it also seems unfortunate to just tell the Ramos players they can't play with their battlebox and have to part out the bots or sub in other figures.

What kind of play style are you after, and what's worked for you in other miniature games as a general army vibe? Do you want close combat, ranged combat, board control, lots of fodder, fewer heavy-hitters, or what?

I thought it was only when the piglets started outnumbering the gremlins that you had to worry? You know they're conspiring against you - it's that shifty look in their eyes and that curl to their tails.

The online store here does have a provision for buying individual stat cards - you just comment in what cards you want. It doesn't specify whether they only cover the older ones or not, but I'm guessing that they'll happily sell you any of them.

I'm just curious what comes with what as far as arachnid stat cards: 1) Does the Ramos starter box come with just two swarm cards, or does it also include any regular Arachnid cards? 2) Do the Arachnid blisters (the ones with cards at least) come with just a swarm, or also with one or more regular arachnid cards? It seems that for every three Arachnids you need four stat cards, one swarm and three regular arachnids, and I'm just trying to figure out how to best and most cheaply assemble that many stat cards... Or, alternatively, for tournament play is it acceptable to just have one card for each type (swarm and regular) and keep track of hit points on the rest by other means (paper, dice, etc.)? Finally, how does this affect the cats (I haven't got the book yet and I've only been able to look at one briefly, but I'm guessing they can split too)? Thanks!
