Ianthecat2 Posted January 15, 2014 Report Posted January 15, 2014 Hello All I recently bought the Cult of December box and found what appears to be a large iceburg of plastic that doesn't appear to go anywhere the piece had markings indicating that it was attached to a sprue but there were no gaps can anyone tell me what it is It has one flat side and a hole in the bottom and looks similar to the block on the arm of the ice golem Thanks Ian Quote
Oscilioth Posted January 15, 2014 Report Posted January 15, 2014 Well I don't have the box set myself, and this might be something you already know, but these construction instructions may help: http://www.malifaux.com/Instructions/WRD20303.jpg Perhaps, it is the piece on his shoulder, or an alternative to it? Tombanjo Posted January 15, 2014 Report Posted January 15, 2014 I think the extra piece loose in the box is a corrected right arm piece, if you look the one on the sprue with the rest of the pieces has a flat bottom and doesn't fit great, but the loose one has a contoured bottom that fits the arm much better. Mako Posted January 15, 2014 Report Posted January 15, 2014 What Tombanjo said. I seem to remember that being mentioned when she first came out, there's a spare arm lump due to the sprue one not having the right underside shape to fit the arm. Could use it as a bit of basing if you really want, I just left it in the box. Quote
Clousseau Posted January 15, 2014 Report Posted January 15, 2014 The spare piece makes a great ice rock for mounting another model. Nearly mounted the Wendigo to it instead of to the guard, but chickened out. Quote

JimTullis Posted January 15, 2014 Report Posted January 15, 2014 Used the Flat bottomed piece to mount the Wendigo. Thinking about patching the hole in the Golem's arm and leaving the chunk off. Quote

Tombanjo Posted January 16, 2014 Report Posted January 16, 2014 I made my golem without arm piece or ice "nipples" makes for a real clean mini Quote

edonil Posted January 16, 2014 Report Posted January 16, 2014 That'd be interesting to see. Any chance you have pictures of that? Quote

Omenbringer Posted January 16, 2014 Report Posted January 16, 2014 I made my golem without arm piece or ice "nipples" makes for a real clean mini I would tend to agree that the Ice Golem looks better without the "Lady Gaga mother monster" pieces. Quote

edonil Posted January 16, 2014 Report Posted January 16, 2014 That may be correct, but I'll be damned if I paint another one of those, lol. Great model, but I'm quite content with just one... Quote

Carasz Posted January 16, 2014 Report Posted January 16, 2014 I've used it to help a friend remove the wendigo from the guild whatever-he-is. Repositioned the rock in a base, sculpted a hand and a foot and now the wendigo looks as if he parkours over the side of the rock. I got the guild dude to use as a Latigo pistolero as a thanks. Fun, and very worth it. Especially because its easier to paint them all coherently without a random dude with a different paint scheme. Quote
