Mirarii
Got my Raspy box and the Ice Golem came with a 50mm base but his card says 40? Was it just a mispack? I have an extra 40mm, so it's not a big deal but I wanna have an idea so I can base and paint him.
Omenbringer
Yep it is a mispack, he should be mounted on a 40mm base like his card says. By the way, there is a great tutorial on how they created that awesome base for him in the Wyrd Chronicles link to the left.

Thanks Omen, and yeah I saw that when I read through them a while back, thanks for reminding me.

Ratty
No problem, if you want something a bit less intensvie though there is always the goto link here. I'm not a huge fan of Bicarb as I find it discolours over time, I generally use snow flock and PVA, though I will give the Snow flock and water effect a try. dsmiles
Snow flock here, too. I use Woodland Scenics Soft Flake Snow (SN140). Also, I used Micro Arts Winter Shale bases on my whole Raspy crew.
Omenbringer
Definately agree that bicarbonate is not great (over the long hall mostly, several problems with it besides the yellowing mentioned). I am a huge fan of the Snow Flock and Water Effect method. It produces some very nice snow (from mushy to fresh fallen and everything in between). EvilGinger
Hot glue is the traditional method of doing slushy muddy snow as you can leave all sorts of marks in it whist still warm.
rascally
Had same problem with my Cult of December box set. 50mm base for the Ice Golem. I think I have a 40mm base from a model that I wont be putting together just yet so I'll use that and complete the other model when I can buy some 40mm bases, but it's rather annoying. On the bright side, I have an extra Ice Pillar base ;-)
dsmiles
You could e-mail them and get the correct base. Their customer service department is awesome like that. I recently bought aJustice, and she didn't come with a base, and I had no intention of using one anyways. I e-mailed Wyrd, and (even though I told them that I was putting aJustice on a scenic base) they sent me a 50mm plastic base for her. EvilGinger
I get packs of lipped bases fro Spirit Games which I use for lots of things since I first found discovered them playing warmachine several years ago. they are £1.10 for 10 30mm or 6 40mm or 4 50mm. I generally have plenty to hand should I have a mispack which I havent for malifaux or I drop the dratted thing whilst opening the blister which I do quite a bit. Omenbringer
There is an edit button in the upper right corner of every post.
rascally
@dsmiles - it did occur, and if I can't find a spare 40mm base I may yet, but, great though their customer service is, I can't be doing with waiting that long and I'd have to buy one anyway :happypuppet2
SteamPants
#(#*@&!! I already built him on a scenic base and painted it all up! I used the base that came with the box set. Great, now I gotta go take some heavy duty cutters to it. I guess this is what happens when you paint first before playing. This is going to be a pain to fix....
