Mako
Well, it's that time again where I admit I've not been totally idle... Chronicles volume 9, of course. Ta da!
SpiralngCadavr
Wow, crap. love the front leg and little glossy edges. Lotta motion in that. edit: oh, just skimmed the chronicles, derp. Well, looking forward to reading exactly how you did it Edited December 4, 2013 by SpiralngCadavr

Mako
Heh, thanks guys. I was experimenting a bit with that base, so I'm glad it has some movement to it! There's no way I'm admitting to the hours I sank into painting every facet on that thing though. All I can say is, I'm glad I only have one! edonil
I am so, so, so glad that this model is already painted. Otherwise I'd be tempted to do something stupid like try this kind of stuff. Impressive good sir!
Bacms
Mako your rubbish is always insane, always the article I look forward to see on the chronicles. That looks awesome might have to copy it at come point

Viruk
I knew I could expect awesomeness the moment I saw "Mako" written on the first page of the Chronicles and I wasn't disappointed.
Mako
Aw, thanks guys! You'll make me blush. I broke my thanks button again... I'm still finding new tricks with microballoons and texture gel, seems to be fairly versatile stuff. Pain to work with though!
RagingRodian
I like him! It shows that a talented painter can do a lot with just a handful of colors!
thewartoad
As always Mako...SIMPLY AMAZING!!! Hands down my favorite - The Ice Golem!
Mako
Thanks! I've been away for a month with no painting supplies, but to settle back into things I've started work on another piece I got at gencon (Shar the Traveller, 54mm, from Morland Studios). She took a bit of prep to get ready, but I've managed to start work on the dress today. Only one half of the bodice is done, but it should show what I'm aiming for with her dress:
Webmonkey
the patchwork is awesome looking already
Mako
Cheers Web, hopefully I can keep it looking decent across the whole bodice and skirt! *grin*
Mister Shine
Needs more tartan
ModollerMorgan
Been ages since I've stepped into this area and it appears I have been missing out. Nice work as always Mako, continue to impress us.
Wings
Now that's going to be a lot of work. Looking forward to seeing how it progresses!
Mako
Thanks all! It's a quite useful design at the moment, as while I recover from whatever random plague I got last week I can only paint for a short while - just long enough to do one fabric panel it turns out. Got a bit more done on the bodice, but the skirt will be a large area and I'm going to run out of patterns...
Normski
The Plague explains the lack of WIP pics in WAMP forums lol nice work so far mate!! should turn out well cool.
Mako
Mostly recovered now it seems, so here's a bit of work on Shar: And a little bit of malifaux too. Starting to work my way slowly through my ten thunders, as I feel like focussing on them for now. Lynch, Yan Lo and Misaki's crews to do... Webmonkey
it's looking really good.
Viruk
Very nice mix of colors there. I think you might try to smooth out the edge of purple material as the contrast between it and green is a bit too strong but then I realize how small the surface you're working on is and it probably won't be noticeable later on. Also, can't wait to see your take on TT, especially Misaki's crew - you've shown how well you deal with Eastern themes in painting before so these will be a treat for sure.
Mako
Thanks guys! I still need to go back and add in shading and stitches to that side of the bodice, so the boundary line between the purple and green will end up the same as the original half of the bodice, rather than as the stark line it currently is. That will reduce the contrast and neaten the edges up, as well as giving it more shape. Might do that before I finish the skirt, might leave it til the skirt is ready for it too. Also, 54mm herringbone pattern was painful and I never want to do it again...
Mister Monkey
That is madness I say.....madness! But good looking madness.
Wings
That does look like it's eventually going to drive you utterly insane. But it will look so beautiful! So definitely worth it (for us at least).
