Xercius
There is a rule in the rules manual that states you get +2 Soul Stones for each scheme you don't take. Does this ignore the maximum amount based on what size of encounter, or does the Maximum still apply? Thanks
0 nerdelemental
Maximum is maximum. So, if the max is 8 and you have 6 left over after hiring you can opt to not take one scheme to go up to your max. If you opted to take 0 out of 2 schemes you'd still be at 8. 0 Masque
I believe this is how it is supposed to be even though the Rules Manual kind of implies the opposite. When you are getting ready for an Encounter step 6 is Hire Crews and the last part of Hire Crews caps the starting size of your Soulstone Pool. Then step 7 is Choose Schemes which tells you to add 2 to your starting Soulstone Pool for each unchosen scheme.
0 Keltheos
But doesn't state it can ignore the max cap before the game begins...
0 Chipacabra
It would be nice if the rules were a little more explicit about exactly when the maximum soulstone cap is lifted.
0 Tiny
How is it not? 8 for scraps 10 for brawls what else do you need to know?
0 Sliver Chocobo
How is it not? 8 for scraps 10 for brawls what else do you need to know? The bag of soul stones can go over this amointment, but I think that's it
0 Kisada
I was under the impression that the limit only applied to prior to game start and went away after. Am I wrong there?
0 magicpockets
Soulstone cache limits are for the start of the game, once the game has begun you can go as high as you'd like. It was clarified by a RM (Sketch iirc) that the copy in the "bag of soulstones" feature was an over-clarification, not an indication that ss pools last throughout the game. 0 Sholto
Interesting - I have always played Colette that despite her shenanigans she could not go over the max SS cache during the game. SS abuse here I come :flaminghe
0 sephiroa
The bag of soul stones can go over this amointment, but I think that's it it can, in game, but not when you are making your crew, you can take a max of 8, but if you find/create one in the game, well, you have 9, easy no? or am i wrong? 0 Drake
it can, in game, but not when you are making your crew, you can take a max of 8, but if you find/create one in the game, well, you have 9, easy no? or am i wrong? You are correct. I often have 12-14 soulstones by turn 2 or 3 in a game, thanks to generating more once the game has started. Gotta love Colette (and Soulstone Miner)

There is a rule in the rules manual that states you get +2 Soul Stones for each scheme you don't take.
Does this ignore the maximum amount based on what size of encounter, or does the Maximum still apply?
Thanks
