Nathan Caroland
I have two, one that I thought was killer till he got around level 9 and one that was simply frickin' useless until level 7 (got his arse beat almost every time). Now, that's turned around a bit and he is smackin' them down with the flail and avoiding attacks left and right.
St. Anger
Ok, I created the "Malifaux Marauders" clan. Join it here: http://mybrute.com/team/34510 I just submitted my request to join...
Ritual
The clan is growing! I don't know the purpose with forming a clan, but I guess there's something....
Scorpio
It's funny how some Brutes are doomed to become hopeless and some just get better and better. It's really random. I was dragging for many levels, and then I got a second weapon, which really helped things along. Luck of the draw. I avoid anyone with a flail, or multiple pets, because, wow ouch. Morf
Bears are broken... Unless you got Hypnosis. Which gets really really funny. One of my brutes has it and I pick on Brutes with super low HP (they usually have bears).
Ritual
The net is also great when someone has a bear.
Scorpio
I tend to target people at my level with slightly better stats than me, and slightly more hit points. My high agility and that crazy staff I have tend to have me coming out on top of said fights. People with much higher hit points tend to wear me down. And people with much lower stats tend to have some other advantage, like bears (which I thankfully have yet to encounter) or a flail or club or what have you. I still fear Killit'n'grillit's whip, too.
Chameleon
I've just requested to join (or at least I think I did as I pressed join and it just took me back to the previous page without any update on my cell.) I think I'm quite lucky with my brute as I started out with a club so seem to be doing ok!
Nathan Caroland
My worst one seems to be my best now after he picked up the flail and leveled last night and got 'Howl of the Damned' which runs off all the beasts that someone shows up with. Love it, find someone with low HP, go into a battle, right off it does Howl, their critters run off, smack down comes shortly after.
Ritual
Today was a good day. I killed off one opponent with Immortal and one opponent with both flail AND a bear. :approve:
St. Anger
I just went up against an opponent at level 6 that had 2 dogs... That was tough... Needless to say i didn't survive...
Scorpio
New things to avoid: characters with the 'destroy your weapons' trait. Eek.
Ritual
New things to avoid: characters with the 'destroy your weapons' trait. Eek. "Thief", "Impact" or "Sabotage" are not fun (unless you have them yourself... ).
Chameleon
Haven't come up against any of those, but I came up against a bear today and that wasn't much fun!
Morf
Wowzers! I started a new Brute and it got shuriken, Vitality and Hammer (the skill) for first 3 Levels. After Day 2, nine fights nine wins. The shuriken is crazy, it seems like he sometimes throw 7-8 of them before the enemy can react.

Wren
Is there a way to tell what opponents can do before you get into a fight that I'm missing?
Ritual
No, I don't think so. At low levels you can assume that if someone has many health points, or high values in some of the characteristics they don't have many weapons or abilities. But at higher levels you can't count on that anymore.
Scorpio
Is there a way to tell what opponents can do before you get into a fight that I'm missing? I just cut and paste their name into the URL to check their cell. http://BLAHBLAHBLAH.mybrute.com/cellule But really, I only do that when I'm curious. Hmmm, not that I'd probably bother to do it each time, but I'd never thought of getting around it that way. Genius!
