Nathan Caroland
I'm not a huge enthusiast on MSB Toys miniatures but I have to say, this is just a damn cool miniature and we need a paint class on this bad boy in the future. Anyhow, this just looks plain MEAN.
Ritual
Man, that IS cool!! :240:
tidoco2222
I like it, a painting class on that mini would be great.
Klute
Hit and miss MSB. That ones a hit for sure.
gi6ers
Yep, thats a good one. Will definitely get round to ordering some of those one day!
Mosch
No sir, I don't like it. I fact, I didn't like any of those elephant men miniatures. Don't know why.
Klute
Thats how Ive felt about the others really but this one has a certain edge to it that Im liking.
Nathan Caroland
Yeah, a majority of the MSB line just doesn't catch my attention, but like Klute said, this one has that 'edge' to it that just makes it damn interesting to me. Looks like he means buisness.
EricJ
It does have attitude, and is well sculpted, however I think that it's not for me. Also I am very tired of minis standing fully face forward with a weapon out to either side.
Nathan Caroland
Found another one that I like.
gi6ers
I like the frog blokey! Apprently they have had a price reduction across the range too...I've never painted resin (apart from bases) is there any difference in priming etc? EricJ
I like this one more
tidoco2222
Ha ha it's like Wind in the Willows gone mad. I like this one alot, I think I'm going to have to get one of these. It brings a whole new dimension to the Crazy Frog.
Ritual
Stick a scooter helmet on him and paint him blue, Tim!

Klute
Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaarrrgghhhhhh Anything but the crazy frog. Are these from the new Monkey range I wonder. Some of the stuff there is good.
Nathan Caroland
Yup, from the Monkey King line. I like the fact that they are taking a stab at that myth/story. A bunch of the stuff I 'really' don't like but there are some real gems in that line. Of course, like everyone, tastes vary.
Gonzoangel
I like the frog dude, but the elephant does nothing for me.
Mosch
Yup, from the Monkey King line. I like the fact that they are taking a stab at that myth/story. A bunch of the stuff I 'really' don't like but there are some real gems in that line. Of course, like everyone, tastes vary. I have read the complete story and I have no idea who this character is supposed to be. Still, he is a wonderful miniature Sha Monk looks great, a little fatter than I imagined him, but still great. Idiot/Chu Pa-Chieh needs three more prongs on his rake though. I love Sun Wu-Kung! He does look a lot like Dragonballs Son Goku though, but then again, the Dragonball characters are kind of based on that story. I wonder if that monk is supposed to be Tripitaka? He doesn't really wear travelling attire, does he? (By the way, here are the other minis: http://www.apocalypseminiatures.com/store/pd-1680285532.htm?categoryId=9 )
Spacemunkie
Their sculpts are definitely getting better. That frog dude is pretty nifty. Some of the castings of MSB stuff are awful though. I reckon their mould maker is hammering the Fimo and it's resulting in poor detail reproduction... Beware the older minis especially. You have been warned!
Nathan Caroland
You did some work for MSB for awhile didn't you Scott? Anyhow, all their stuff is resin right? What is the difference from painting resin vs. metal - is there any at all?
Mosch
Resin is pretty hard to clean well and I can't get my primer to stick to it Also if you accidentaly swallow some, your tongue will feel funny and after some time you will experience strong pain in the area of your stomach. Don't ask me how I know, just don't swallow it or breathe it in. Painting metal feels totally different from painting resin, but there are not actualy so many differences, except maybe that delicate parts in the resin are pretty likely to snap off. Man, I would really like some of those Monkey King minis, but I can't pay - no credit card. Apocalypse Miniatures won't accept Paypal and I don't want to send a money order, had a bad experience with it. Does anyone know another store that sells them?
Spacemunkie
MSB stuff sold by Apocalypse is all metal. The larger stuff MSB are selling on their own site is resin. James has done a great job of making some crap minis look very good. Proof that painting matters!!!
supervike
There are plenty of MSB stuff that I think looks great. Just too many miniatures, not a big enough wallet!!
