First of all, thanks to everyone who commented on my pictures. I read every single comment of course and I will try to get better

Henrik, evil Warrior, is my first entry. As I said I was going for a comic look.
First of all, after about two days I noticed that his right leg looked kinda thin. It seems I have off a piece of his leg when I added the gradient in the background. I also left a white "extension" on the shoulder skull. I missed both problem when I sent the picture in and really have to do better next time.
Now about the "paint chips".... there actually aren't any. My primer seems to have introduced little white spots - there are more than those mentioned, look closely at the base, the cloak and the wristband on his left hand. I don't know why this happened... sometimes it's all fine, sometimes it does this. I had no time to correct it, so I just left it as it was. I'm using model master dullcote, by the way, so if anyone has an idea on how to solv that problem just tell me... it annoys me to no end.
lizcam, about the eye... I did this on purpose. I agree it seem as if I just can't do eyes, but I just thought it would be funny in a dark way if he lost his only good eye
About the skin... those are Reaper paints, the triad ones. I went from the dark skin triad to the tan skin triad to the light skin triad and I think it worked very well. There was not much definition, I agree, but it's not that bad... I've seen worse.

The other one is the Warsmith. This is actually one of the Mini Exchange miniatures I received.
I always thought metal is simple. Well, it's not. Giving attention to metal means going over the are again and again while seemingly nothing changes. Personally I am quite proud of the burn marks on the gun barrel and the rust in the recesses - this was actually a lot of work, I used several shades of brown, purple, yellow, red and Vallejo smoke. The oil is black, smoke and green.
I know it sounds like a stupid excuse, but it works a lot better in person, when the lightsource moves and reflects differently from the areas.
By the way, there was not single drybrush stroke used
Some people wondered what the base is supposed to be. Well, the part epople wondered about - the yellowy thing on the edge - is supposed to be asphalt with a small concrete wall thingy... I saw this in actual German barracks and it seperated an area for military trucks from the surrounding field. I have no idea how it is called.
I agree that the asphalt sucks though
Thryth asked what I used... The rocks are cork, the basic dirt is ground up pumice. The asphalt is thin cardboard, glued in several layers. The wall thing is a piece of plastic - don't know where I got it from, it was in my "looks kinda interesting" - bin. The sunken in barrel is actually part of my old, broken chair. It covered the screws. I just sawed off what I did not need. The sludge is Vallejo gel stuff... forgot the name and I'm too lazy to get it out of the basement I added some neon green paint to dye it.
The tubes are really bright to provide a very strong contrast to the metal, but I did not want them to gleam so he won't look too cheery.
About the barrel... it just caught all the light "automatically" so to say. I just now wondered if maybe I forgot to dullcote it....
About the metals bluring into one another... I kinda desired this effect, but not to the point that it made details hard to see. I'll try even harder on my next mini
Once again, thanks to everyone for the comments! They will help me win next time
