  1. They are simply fantastic, I am a bit biased as I love Bob Olley's work and do have alot of it, but these are some of the best goblins I have seen for some time next to Hasslefree's.
  2. That is sooooooooooo nice, I need to get into these models I think.
  3. I really like that diorama the whole scene looks great and those grubs look really nasty.
  4. Well seeing as it is the first time I have typed it out on Wyrd here goes. Basecoat Catachan Green To shade mix a little black into the base coat and then add as a wash. Reset the base colour leavinng some of the shade showing. Then highlight gradually by mixing increasing amounts of Camo Green into the base colour until you are using pure Camo Green. The next step is not essential but if you have to hand a pot of the old Citadel Colour Green Ink, not the one that is currently available take a small amount and dilute quite heavily and add this as a glaze a couple of times obviously letting each application dry thoroughly. Final highlight Camo Green with a touch of Bleached Bone in on the highest parts. that is all there is to it. As for the boots, base coat Dark Flesh, stipple on first Vermin Brown, Then Fiery Orange and then Blazing Orange. Very lightly dry brush Boltgun Metal to finish. I hope that helps.
  5. Hi all Here is my latest mini, it is one of the new Ork Kommandos and IMO these minis are probably the best Ork minis to come out of GW for some time. I intend to do the whole set of five but my pace is slow these days so don't expect any more any time soon lol. I kept the base simple as this and the others are going to be auctioned off for charity on for a Children In Need project taking place on my forums. The base is precast resin from Back2basix an Australian company that trades on e-bay and I think they are awesome. It is also an entry for a painting contest, I have asked the host if it is ok to post the finished pics before the closing date and he has said it is ok. I hope you loike him as much as I do.
  6. Some nice stuff there, I like hte Marine Council and the Ogryns are not too bad either though I still prefer the FW Chaos Ogryns. I like the DKK quartermaster too, oh hell I like the lot.
  7. Personally I think it is awesome, the colour of the horse is something I would never have dreamed of and it works so well.
  8. Just seen this on Cmon Jim, I like it alot mate and voted you a 9 over there. Excellent work mate. p.s any news on the Carnifex?
  9. Nice, I like the guy with wings alot. May have to grab myself one of these.
  10. Hmmm not too taken with whole set but the ones that are drawing swords are kool.
  11. I like the new Gladiators, I just bought a complete force of Glads off e-bay, I might add one or two of these to them. I also like the Preatorian.
  12. oh yes I love the Ogres, I am going to have to get those and add them to my collection, I already have the others from the Cadwallon range.
  13. Very cool, I have recently gotten into Urban War and some of the minis are superb. I like this one alot.
  14. I see what you are saying Anders, I do like them though. I haven't painted anything from the Warmachine range in an age but I may just have a bash at these.
  15. Thanks guys, I should be updating the site again over the next couple of days. I am going to start a work in progress page next as I have a few things on the go. i also need to get a couple more articles up as well over the next couple of weeks. I fully intend to keep on top of it if for nothing else that to keep a personal record of my modelling activities over time.
  16. Hmm nothing there that leaps out for me and says buy me and paint me. They definitely have a retro kind of look to them. I think that with todays levels of detail in miniatures these may not do so well.
  17. Hi all, I have been messing around with freewebs and have starterd a little site to showcase the miniatures I have painted and will paint in the future. It is only in the early stages but if you would like to look then click the link and have a nose around. http://www.freewebs.com/tidoco/index.htm The forums were just an iodea and will most likely not stay there. I will leave them a while to see if they take off but the site is really about showcasing my miniatures and also sharing with people some of the methods I use when painting minis. If you have any comments to make then there is a guest book that you can post a comment in. Thanks for taking the time to have a look. Cheers Tim
  18. Well GW have got some real competition, they are having to contend with a fantastic miniatures range painted by painters that can give the 'eavy metal guys a serious run for their money.
  19. Beautiful work, I love the nmm I just wish I could get that good with that technique but no matter how hard I try I cannot get anything like a finish like that. Awesome I say again.
  20. If you still have them atacam thaen I am interested in the following Strohm Warriors Archeon Emissary Damrahl Scorpion Warstaff Box Set Drop me an e-mail or pm mate if you see this message. Cheers Tim
  21. Lol I saw that Anders and just ordered both the helmeted and the unhelmeted versions. Oww my poor bank lack of balance lol.
  22. These minis are pretty bad. They will do nothing for the prepainted line that Reaper want to go for. I tend to agree with Lizzy up there with the politics of it.
  23. Me likes and me will have one too. I have bought all of his models so far and this will be no exception.
  24. I haven't really done a lot of miniature painting of late. I have started much but finished nothing. This though is the exception to that rule. I got this mini and a whole bunch of others that I intend to paint of a Cmon member who had to sell them. This mini is called Leonidas from the now OOP Ilyad games range. The mini has obviously been influenced by ancient greek styling but this isn't a historical mini. It also has nothing to do with Sparta or the film 300. It was actually very difficult to paint and took alot out of me to get it to look as good as I think it does. It is certainly my best mini for a while. Overall I like the finished look to the mini. The base is not quite in scale with the figure but it is only slightly if he took his helmet off he could get under the arch without ducking down. Also the base may be a little bit modern for the fig but hey this is fantasy after all. I tried adding some weathering to the lower part of the underrobe but it didn't look that good so I opted to leave it off in the end. I kept it on the cloth on the shield though thinking that was more likely to get more dirty as it would not always be being carried around. Anyway enough rambling, I hope you like it.
  25. If you hadn't said about the metal parts being NMM I would not have guessed. Very nice work indeed.
