Up we go and engaging

King of Draconis

Question

Can a model with only Up We Go melee action engage an enemy with Flight?
By defiinition it can, as it says: Every model has an engagement range based on the range of its longest (melee) Action. If an enemy model is within a friendly model’s engagement range and the friendly model has LoS to the enemy model, the friendly model is considered to be engaging the enemy model, and the enemy model is considered to be engaged by the friendly model.
But Up We Go clearly states that a model cannot target another one with Flight.
So does the engagement come to place? If so, can the engaging model do a disengaging strike? If not, does the one with flight trying to leave the engagement range do a Disengage action? (Not getting any slower, but still being unable to do any interact actions?)

Yes it does engage the model with flight.

The flight model can take the disengage action to leave engagement, and generally needs to because it can't charge (it's engaged) and can't walk out of engagement.

The up you go action can't be used so if that is the only option, the push distance won't be reduced. ( just like if you choose not to attack).
