Dreamer vivid nightmares

Vivid nightmares was added to the card as an errata because lucid dreams was too good without some form of control added to it. So it is intended to reduce the power of lucid dreams

Lucid dreams will still improve your deck composition throughout the game, but now at a much lower level than was possible before. 

So the main use of Vivid nightmares is to stop your opponent quitting in disgust because you have a deck that only contains severe cards...

There are two very niche cases when you actually want some of the removed cards back in your deck and Vivid Nightmares can be (slightly) useful.

- The first one is if you have volountarily removed high cards from your deck to use with Stitched Together and all the Stitched die. 
- And the second one is if you don't use Stitched and just happen to flip three good cards when using Lucid Dreams.

Dreamer was obviously much better without Vivid Nightmares, but it's not completely negative.

as a layman, I continue to think that lucid dream or vivid nightmare should be reworked, at least for dreamer1: I'm not saying that it is a mediocre master, the fact is that the mechanics of lucid dream already imply the possibility of discarding even just high cards. (which in any case absolutely does not mean that by discarding them with vivid nightmares you will use them in the next turn)

furthermore, putting half of it back into play rounded up is really a lot, and honestly it doesn't help improve the card drawing, and it doesn't make it worse imo. rather it would make sense to put a fixed or perhaps increasing number back into play depending on the turn.

 

or something sacrosanct could be to put a piece with tools for the job among the nvb, given that it is the only faction in the game that lacks this ability...

It should definitely be reworked. 

Lucid Dream was too much pre nerf, but the nerf made the ability so ineffective it feels moot to even go through the motions.

But with Burns and Madness you might argue that Lucid Dream was right where it was supposed to be.
