Jack Daw Questions

Hi!
I have a question regarding the guilties "ability" to count as enemies. When Jack or the hanged attack them and get the "on your heels" trigger, they must get staggered/attach the curse from Jack Daw/the guilty respectively, right? And then the Jack Daw player also needs to discard a card at the end of their round and the enemy can push the guilty, is that correct? That is of course not so cool 😬 but i guess would still be worth it, getting jack and the guilty faster up the board.

Yes, you have to do the parts of the action.

I think kid55 was trying to say you choose if you want to count them as an enemy, but if you have done toss the noose, then they will take the damage and the staggered, and if you choose to treat them as an enemy you can place in base contact. With horrifying Whisper you have to attach the upgrade.

The suppressed memories is a bit trickier.  I don't think if you have declared the on you heels trigger you can avoid giving them the injustice upgrade, but if you make the attack hoping to get the trigger, and don't fir what ever reason, you don't have to treat them as an enemy and give them the upgrade.

I read “…purposes of actions, abilities and triggers”, as you choose at each step.

E.g. Daw’s Suppressed Memories you choose to trear it as friendly for the action - not attaching an upgrade but doing damage. Then treat it as Enemy for the On your heels trigger.

Or Hanged’s Horrifying Whispers you treat it as an enemy for targeting (and thus attaching the upgrade) and an enemy for the trigger.

Triggers are part of an action, so if the Guilty is treated as a friendly for the action it would still be friendly for the trigger. I have to imagine that if you want them to be enemy for one they have to be enemy for the other.
