Discarding to max Handsize

Hi fellow Wyrdos.

If I exceed my maximum hand size and have to discard Cards, does the acting Model discard the Cards or the Player?

 

To make it more specific: I activate Molly and have max hand size. I now take the Lost Knowledge Action to draw 2 Cards and discard down to my max hand size. Does this discard Trigger Molly's Fading (Memories) Ability?

pg 7 of the digital rule book: "If, after resolving any Action, Trigger, or Ability, any player's hand size exceeds their maximum hand size, they must discard down to meet their maximum hand size."

This makes me believe that "they" refers to "any player," not the acting model.

The way I have been playing it is that a model only counts as discarding if it specifically says they count as discarding.

To my knowledge, there is no rule that says Molly is discarding the lost knowledge cards (while her other abilities says she discards).

So I would say she doesn't get fading.

Yes it's the player discarding the cards not the model
