Zool
Has anyone found a good way of making your own miniature leaves for use on bases? Preferably a technique that doesn't use those scrapbook punches because 1. The scale is usually too large and 2. They are hard to get where I live. I am looking for realistic DIY approaches.

Zool
Thanks for the links Valhallan42nd, unfortunately where i live online orders are not an option if they can't courier and even then import duties are too steep, so really want to make my own.Dgraz the birch tree seed is a great idea ! dgraz
That's what I use (I'm sure there's some in my painting thread). I've also seen some places that sell them. ..which cracks me up. ..though I guess could be helpful where they don't grow. I've seen them colored which I've never bothered with. Zerker
Mixed dried herbs. The kind that you find in a five year old jar at the back of the cupboard. Use thin PVA glue to fix and seal them.
mythicFOX
For leaf-litter I use red bush tea and green tea.Mmmm tea...
Zool
I think the tea would be a good solution. We grow red bush "Rooibos" here in South Africa where i am from, so very easy to get.
Tinweasel
I've done several approaches. I made my own jungle terrain/plants from cut and CA-glued paper for a Golden Demon winner:I've also used birch seed pods (on bases below) from Secret Weapon Miniatures (although really anything would work - the leftover seed "husk" from pine cones, ground up dried oregano, loose dried tea, etc. Whatever works best... (And personally, I had no qualms paying for sifted and packaged birch seed pods where someone else did all the work and I was also supporting a friend's company.)
