Keranis
So, another painting log sees the light of day! A short intro is in order before the pictures though - I started playing this game as little as 2 weeks ago, after having had a kinda long break from miniature gaming and painting. I Decided i needed something new, and since my brother and cousin (my regular gaming mates) had been eyeing this game up for some time, I took the plunge, and ordered up some 10T stuff - Mei Feng, Rail Golem, Metal Gamins, Yamaziko, Oiran and Thunder Archers (and had intended to get the Misaki box along with it, but the store i usually turn to had run out)... Anyways, picture time! Mei Feng and her Rail Crew in all its glory: I know it's not the best photo, but thats what i can do with a 4 years old phone-cam, and with no photo booth... Some Scheme and 2 Scrap Markers for the crew: And lastly, Yamaziko, 3 Oiran and a Thunder Archer: (They have since had some tufts added to their bases to match the rest of the bases, and the 2 other Archers have been painted, but i just havent taken a new photo of them) In the coming week or 2, I should get some exciting packadges - Misaki's crew box, Fuhatsu, McCabe, and Yan Lo and his Ancestor buddies, and to finish up the Rail Crew, Willie... So stay tuned!
Nathan Caroland
Nicely done - like the paint schemes and the base cohesion.
MasterDisaster
They really do look good! Great work. I hope to see some more of your work.
Keranis
Nicely done - like the paint schemes and the base cohesion. That's something that's always been important to me - especially when it comes to armies/factions that tend to not have a consistent look, having the bases all look alike really helps bind it all together
Keranis
I actually have a few more updates now! Even though only one is a 10T model... Story behind me painting Neverborn: They're a birthday present for my brother Fuhatsu: Teddy and the 3 generations of Nephilim: I wont be painting much 10T the next week or so, due to having 13 more Neverborn on the table, that have to be ready for my brother's birthday next tuesday
Argentbadger
These look really nice. I like the cohesion in the Rail / Last Blossom crews, though I suppose it will look a bit more jarring if you mix and match them on the table. How do you get such lovely skin tones? Keranis
Well, Fuhatsu and the Rail crew have been painted using the same "formula" - GW Foundation's Tallarn Flesh, followed by an Ogryn Flesh Wash - once dry, drybrush fairly heavily with Tallarn Flesh, and then a final, light drybrush of the new Kislev Flesh... Yama and the Oiran + Archers were painted a bit earlier, and instead of being drybrushed, they were painted normally with Kislev Flesh And yeah, the cohesion is important to me, as i plan to play all my crews as 10T
ataraxianj
Very nice color palettes for both factions, it really ties them together!
Keranis
Thanks! Next week I'll hopefully start working on my Misaki Crewbox, or if i get it, the Yan Lo box, plus his Ancestor buddies
zFiend
Really good looking crews. I like it how well the pruple and yellow go together. I was going to paint my Yan Lo with yellow scheme but had no idea what other colours to use, I might have to borrow your colour scheme Also that is an amazing gift to your brother! A painted crew, props on that.
Keranis
OK, i think i have enough models to keep me busy for the next month or so - Got my Misaki crew a few days ago, and took some "time off" from painting Neverborn to paint up Ototo (no close-up yet): and then I got some new shinies today, and started assembling! Which has resulted in all these lovely miniatures being on my painting desk for next month: So not only do i still have a few minis to paint for my brothers' birthday (almost done with the Nephilim, only missing Lilith and the Cherub now ), but i now have 3 entire crews to paint up for myself! Gonna be a busy June
Keranis
And it's update time! I now have the entire Mei Feng crew painted up, since i finished up Willie! Also painted up Shang, using the same basic technique that i used on the Emberling: Will post a full Mei Feng crew photo some time tomorrow - and then i should have Misaki and her full crew up before long as well!
Keranis
Today we take a look back - because today we have photos of 2 full crews, all painted up 'n shiz! First up, Mei Feng and her Foundry buddies: And then, we take a look at the newcomer, Misaki, and her Last Blossom crew, who has been joined by the Thunder Archers and Fuhatsu: Anyways, I'm off to paint up Yan Lo and his Ancestor buddies, so ciao! zFiend
Those colours are so well put together! Very good looking crews!
Keranis
Oh dear Tyrants of Malifaux, has it really been a MONTH since my last entry on this log? Wow, i really lost track of time... Anyways, here's some newly painted stuff for you all - I present to you, Yan Lo and his Ancestor buddies! Oh, and the crew i painted for my brother? it got done in time! Here's a look at Lilith and her children: Next thing on my plate, is McCabe and his crewbox. I've also made the "mistake" of getting into yet another miniatures game, Firestorm Armada - so if there's any interest in seeing big spaceships in this log, then i guess i could show a few pictures as i get them painted
Keranis
More stuff! Got McCabe and his crewbox done! Shows how much one can accomplish if focussed on the task at hand Anyways, picture time! And that's all I got for my Ten Thunders - it's scary, actually, having all these models finished, since I've never had a full finished army (or whatever) of anything before So what's next you ask? Well, as i discovered when i first started, eBay is a dangerous place, and I managed to snag a Ramos box, 2 Spider boxes, and some Convergence of Cyriss Reflex Servitors (to act as Electric Creations) and a ton of magnets to magnetize the spiders and bases for them, all for about 40-45£... Unfortunatly, I wont be able to work on them next week (vacation stuff), but the week after will most likely see more stuff on this blog
Inquisitor Wall
The crew is looking great. I really like the look of Sidir and the entire yan lo crew.
Kotep
All fanatstic work! I wish I had those skills!
Keranis
Thanks for the kind comments - to be fair, most of it's only basecoat, wash, and maybe a drybrush :S it's unbelieveable how lazy I've gotten with my painting after discovering GW's Wash/Shade line
zFiend
Oh man those are looking up nice! I like your McCabe a lot. What made you go with white hair? It really suits him!
Keranis
I dont actually know why i went with white hair, except that it'd make him stand out a bit more (as if his pose didnt already xD)
zFiend
Well it really works!
Keranis
I thought so too, so good to hear that others think the same - sometimes it pays off to go with that crazy hunch

MadMalkav
How are you doing the bases? Is it with the newish citadel basing paint? Curious as I've not been happy with my results using it.
