  1. Nekima is very difficult to play because the crew is so squishy. But one of the best players in the World Series plays her as their main crew, and absolutely wrecks with her. She slams into the enemy and keeps them distracted, and then the crew grows Mature Nephilim and sends a never-ending stream into the enemy. Very maneuverable, hits hard, but you have to position perfectly to negate every point of damage you can. Dreamer comes in two forms: elite Dreamer and Minion Dreamer. Minion Dreamer was nerfed severely, so I'll cover elite Dreamer. You start with a solid crew and get summons on top of it. You focus on bogging down the game and tying up your opponent so that they can't kill any of your stuff. Then, over time, your endless stream of summons coupled with your solid base crew just secures the game as you grind the enemy to dust.
  2. This seems awesome, but with only Mysterious Emissary able to make hungry land markers, did you find it a bit tricky to run?
  3. To some degree I don't think titles will fix this, partially because I think this problem is an illusion. Yes, for equally matched opponents it is an issue. But there is so much space for skill to dominate in Malifaux, I rarely see it in action (except in the World Series where there are just top calibre players from around the world). But in the NZ meta, even when all I had was 3-4 boxes (Molly + The Lost + Dead Rider + Eternal Servitude essentially), I was getting top tables in tournaments (or winning all the local ones). Once you have ~100 soulstones of models to round out your crew, you can beat almost anything with a flexible crew. So there's budget options I reckon. Although maybe not for facing Explorer's Society. For that, I reckon you need quite a bit of tech since they are tuned pretty high xD EDIT: To put it it another way, I'm not sure I've ever lost a game where the issue was lack of access to models. There was always something I did that lost the game (or on very rare occasion, bad luck xD)
  4. I tried playing multiple crews and it turns out I am way more competitive just focusing on one. It is hard to master a crew (I'm still learning things ~150 games in). That said, I think I've used more than 20 different models with Molly in the world series, so there is an element of 'buy half the faction to win.' That said, at everything but the very top of competitive play, I feel like I can win most games using only 3 boxes.
  5. On the web app, I can't access GG2 schemes in the ruleset tab. And just tested it in game creation and there's no GG2 schemes and strategies there (or any option to select GG2 either).
  6. I believe the answers are : 1. No. The rules specifically say that a model moving doesn't cause hazardous damage with its aura from memory. 2. From memory, you're correct. As soon as the marker gains a terrain trait it becomes a terrain marker, and therefore moving the scheme markers does damage.
  7. Try this: https://discord.gg/QkUapZP3
  8. The bigger issue is removing poison on McMourning's models, so Envy is a massive problem Still, I think you can fight through it. And McMourning will murder Envy super fast.
  9. Faction wise, I know a lot of ES crews hate to see McMourning. He has loads of healing and he ignores the defensive tech of basically the entire faction. And as a leader, they don't have much condition removal. He seems good against Arcanists for the same reason? Can't remember what condition removal they have.
  10. One area where I hope titles will shine is making crews more viable into their hard counters. For instance if you don't declare a marker crew into Ressers because of Molly, maybe there is a non-marker version of the master that allows flexibility if you get the bad pairing.
  11. Oh, Anna Lovelace! She is incredibly good for shutting down places on this map and I'm a fool for not taking her xD
  12. Placing is movement as well. See the movement rules. The only thing that isn't movement is burying (since leaving the table isn't movement).
  13. Yeah, I decided to go the route of flyers and leapers myself as soon as I saw Zipp xD My list: Molly + Whisper + Machine Rogue Necromancy (for Big Brain Brin) Manos Archie Yin Crooligan Crooligan 2 stones His list: Captain Zipp with 12 Cups + Earl So Diversion aura, no leaping around Zipp First Mate Francois Lacroix w/ Inferiority Complex Iron Skeeter Bayou Gremlin ????? Gautraeux Bokor Silurid 4 stones No idea what the Gremlin is doing in the list... But Bokor, Gremlin, Skeeter, and Silurid all seem like things I can manage. First mate I can kind of manage (in that I just ignore it and bog it down, or kill it if it gets bold). Francois is a massive pain in the rump but also a good opportunity. If he mispositions Francois, he could be down to 0 stones turn 1 😜 I assume the Iron Skeeter is with Francois for mobility purposes, so if I stagger Francois, he is sad?
  14. The terrain is super important this matchup. I'm considering... Incorporeal and flying models to ignore the terrain. Leap models to weave between the buildings. Carrion Emissary to block walkways. The scheme pool had me leaning towards Reva a bit, but I'm against Bayou and didn't want to play a marker crew into the best marker-removal faction. So, surprise surprise, I went for Molly 😜 So it'll be Molly vs. Zipp! Which works out incredibly well. Zipp could just completely block off passages for crews to walk through, but Molly can turn that into card draw. So feeling pretty good about the matchup, even though I've never played against Bayou Zipp with Ressers before.
  15. This month is a big one. For many of us, it could be the defining month that determines whether we hit Top 16! I believe currently we have two players in the Top 16 for Ressers: Pergli and IronmanKC81! Trailing behind them is our beloved Molly player... Me xD But whatever your rank, the main point of this series is fun! So let's have a space for all to be involved (even if you're not participating in the month). Feel free to share opinions or questions here. Here's the pool for round 1: Map: Quarantine Zone Note there is a LOT of blocking buildings here, be careful to not get stuck! Standard Break The Line Claim Jump Catch and Release Let them Bleed Research Mission Bait and Switch What are we thinking?
  16. Marcus can also run Wisps or Hoarcats. In my experience, Hoarcats are a LOT better in games where they're not killable by a single activation by every enemy beater on the table.
  17. You do hire your leader (see page 42), but its cost is treated as 0 when hiring. So same result (you ignore the cost of your leader), but technically you hire it.
  18. I believe Youko's cost is ignored, but don't have the direct text in front of me. But the intention was to allow the hiring of a single master in 50ss (or both Viktorias).
  19. Oh gross. I just read those abilities in the app and you're right. Lure: move the target (so the attacker gets to move the target). Bring it: target moves (so the target gets to move the target).
  20. I think Tara suffers enough from the six card hands at 35 that she might be okay. She isn't a 'real' summoner anyway xD. (Because she is so powerful when not summoning, it is almost a secondary part of her kit).
  21. You could check the Tiny Terrors thread where I'm trying to develop a new format. 35 stones, no models over 6 stones other than leader. Or some other tips! Maybe try 50 stone games. You may be surprised how fast you complete them if you make an effort. Most of my games are less than 2 hours now. Or if doing 35, try it with regular pools and maybe ban summons, then see how it goes.
  22. Oh, I should have looked there, thanks! Guess next year's league will be for the starter boxes, we will just manage with cores. Thanks!
  23. I'm going to organise a starter league in a few months, hopefully. From the looks of it, we still don't know much about starters, and I should probably just do a core-box starter league this year?
