  1. True, but I also like the utility of Teddy's Terrorize, as it opens up a lot of space to get your durdle engines up to full strength. If you bog your opponent down long enough to get 4 summons off, you're really snowballing.
  2. Any thoughts for beating Witness with Outcasts? My friend and I were just brainstorming factions for our upcoming tournament, but we know some of the players ordered Witness models so want to be prepared. Not sure Outcasts have any solid plays into Witness?
  3. New The Dreamer Crew (Neverborn) Size: 50 - Pool: 5 Leader: The Dreamer Totem(s): Lord Chompy Bits Hires: Pandora, Tyrant Torn Teddy Wicked Doll Ancient Pact Wicked Doll 2 Ancient Pact Candy This could work as well. Two beaters, two schemers, two ap, and candy as support is a pretty good combo. Can even fast both the beaters pretty efficiently!
  4. One heads up about double summoner builds is they feel really strong if opponents let you durdle, but can be weak to aggression.
  5. I actually run Gokudo a fair bit. Saving that stone is nice! Komainu didn't see much play with YL1, so it'd be a shame to remove them entirely.
  6. I'll try some builds without komainu hopefully and see how it goes. I quite like the idea of removing take the hit and empty vessel so each minion has something unique, but not sure if that'd make komainu garbage tier.
  7. Possibly, worth testing! When facing Witness so far, I've felt like all I have to do is make Damian have some bad activations and the crew fumbles from not having enough threats. So I'm curious what happens if you increase the threat density.
  8. I think 3 gamin, miya, lohith, and 2 OOKs gives you 5 house the soul and 7 cycles into the config every turn... So cycle 7 cards + whatever other shenanigans you have seems like heaps. EDIT: For reference, here's my current draft of a sample list (you'd adjust OOKs based on matchup and pool) Try Ooks (Arcanists) Size: 50 - Pool: 3 Leader: Damian Ravencroft, Unbound Totem(s): The Puzzle Box Hires: Lohith Miya Murakami Soulstone Gamin Soulstone Gamin 2 Soulstone Gamin 3 Coryphee Duet Arcane Effigy Effigy of Fate References: The Configuration
  9. We already got 12 awesome new maps, but there's room for several more if anyone wants go get in with some submissions!
  10. Just realized that the Damian player can likely just counter Yan lo with some soulstone miners to slaughter the minions. Damian is likely going to get scarier once people start teching his lists. I might give Damian a go to see how viable that is xD
  11. That was a momentary brain fart, they corrected it in text later
  12. I really liked Yan lo 2 and Mcmourning 2 on leylines, but double masters with a summoner feel a lot better on those strats that let you score with summons. Molly and Seamus remains pretty great, mechanically speaking. Hoffman is the most frequently complained about second master I think, and Mei Feng is the strongest combo there. Bayou shenanigans with like mah Zipp are still extremely strong.
  13. I suspect Guild is in a pretty good position to handle Damian. All the run and gun models are helpful, and apparently Hoffman can pose some real problems for Damian. I beat a third time Damian 1 player with nellie as well, since Lone Marshal and Pale Rider and stuns was pretty brutal as well.
  14. Well, was a great outing for my first Guild experience. 3-1 is a pretty good result, especially since the loss was to a Guild player who knew my models better than I did xD Nellie seems strong, but her best trick falls over a bit since you can block the stunned just by getting focus on your models. Exclusive interview still seems incredible this season, so would be keen to give her more of a go. Lucius... Still a monster at scoring points, so still feels like every Guild player should have Lucius in their arsenal! I considered playing Guild again for the next event, but decided to skip the event for a break instead.
  15. And the rest of the videos: Round 3 game: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pRXNyxygCko&t=2s Round 4 pregame: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bX4BioT9eN0 Round 4 game: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P5VzQI2AGrc&t=1625s
  16. One sad I have about Philip is I'm not sure he's an appropriate buff for competitive play. I'm not sure buffing Philip will make the keyword competitive, particularly in the current environment... But if the goal is to give a boost to some of the weaker keywords so they at least see some table time, I still think this would be great!
  17. Well, smashed some games with him pretty well. I do feel like Yan Lo is our answer to Damian, so if Yan Lo gets nerfed we'll be in an awkward place with Arcanists (again). Although maybe McMourning 1 will get buffed For me, with a power level target being the original masters, I'd still like to see Yan Lo toned down. I've been building some lists for playing with the models I own (rather than borrowing Komainu), and finding that on paper Yan Lo is way weaker without the move 7 komainu. So there's an argument to try nerfing the Komainu first to take away their reliquary +2 move, and if that doesn't work to hit Yan Lo. But I think Wyrd prefers to hit things all in one go, in which case the safer bet would be to nerf Yan Lo directly, hopefully not throwing him into the dirt xD
  18. I'm not sure there's much content that really qualifies as competitive. Probably the closest would be some of the Malifaux World Series games, but that's largely just recordings of games (and are videos rather than podcasts). EDIT: I do a few competitive list building videos, but they're pretty sparse and only represent a handful of masters.
  19. The issue with all the calls for errata is tons of models need errata, so depends on their priorities. Usually only 2 or 3 masters get buffed per errata from memory. So you're probably right.
  20. Yup, Valedictorian for the stun! Between her ability to survive his attacks and the stat 7 stun, she feels like a must. No card draw against him, but the ability to kill Marco or Miya in one AP is also pretty huge.
  21. Just beat Damian 2 on Cursed Objects (with Yan Lo). Things that helped: Dance around his gameplan Kidnapping Lohith to an extreme degree (24 inches of movement over two activations) Getting an advantage and then running away (Yan Lo teleported from north east to southwest corner of the board). Stunning Damian still feels hugely worthwhile for that AP tax. Huge pressure on his models throughout the game, so he was forced to spend configuration resources keeping Lohith alive with infinite stones for example. Overall, being able to outmaneuver his bubble as well as keeping him constantly spending resources defensively helped a lot. I used the standard Archie/Vale/Chiaki/Sun build, but took two komainu this time. I think using OOKs that line up well against his offensive tech seems really important. Although I'm not sure how many factions can put together a package like Archie (htw, terrifying, leap, health pool) and Valedictorian (htw, armor, stun).
  22. I sent Archie on one flank, and Yan lo on another. Archie died, which left Yan lo to rampage his back line. But I was only able to kill 1 or 2 models a turn this way, which wasn't fast enough.
  23. You'd have to change it a bit. That'd just make them friendly AND enemy, and you can't blast off friendlies. Although in general unresisted damage is very undesirable IMO xD
  24. But more seriously, interesting ideas! I think buffing/using zombies more is a good idea, but also even with these changes might still be pretty weak? He still wouldn't feel like he has any real master level AP. Perhaps something where he could do damage based on number of zombies nearby?
