  1. I don't see how trying to build a good crew and actually trying to win when playing a competitive game would be selfish. You're from New England, right? What do you think about this: I think Tom Brady is way too good, especially with under inflated footballs. They should errata Tom Brady to only allow one touchdown pass attempt per quarter, because otherwise it creates a negative play experience for my team. Not arguing at all. Just voicing greviences and having a healthy debate. Trust me, I am not near the only one that gets irked by these changes. I'm hoping someone at Wyrd actually reads this stuff on here and maybe will consider their customers feedback so they don't end up losing a lot of their customers.
  2. Yes, ignoring Jokers for simplicity, flipping a 6+ from a deck will occur 62% of the time, where as flipping an 8+ will only occur 46% of the time, thus making it more likely than not that you will have to cheat a card from your hand now, if your lucky enough to have the card in your hand. And if you do have the card in your hand, which would be a pretty high card at an 8+, you will lose that card for other things, such as summoning some spiders with Ramos, etc.
  3. If these models are so problematic, then they shouldn't have released them that way in the first place. Un-fun? For the opponent of said model I guess, not the owner of the model. So you errata it and then it becomes "un-fun" for the owner of the model. Look, I think everyone is missing the point. The point is, when you purchase an item as a consumer, you expect it to work as advertised. When you spend your hard earned cash to buy something, and then a week later it does not work as advertised, you're going to be pretty ticked off.
  4. Or here's another idea. If Wyrd insists on "nurfing" models, then they should offer a refund to those customers that have bought those models they decided to "nurf". That would be a good gesture to their customers.
  5. Not true. With the crew I was running, and the situation I was in, I needed every card in my hand. Without going into detail on the game I played, which will take too long, going from needing a 6 to an 8 pretty much guarantees you having to cheat a card, which is a huge. Hell, they could have at least lowered the cost to hire from 12 to 10 to make up for what they took away from it. NPE? Not familiar with that term. And the belles will lure you almost every time. How many Wp 7 models do you know of? Off the top of my head without looking, I can think of one that I own, and she's a master. A belle will beat you 8 out of 10 times on lure, which will pull you off strategies, pull you out of range of your buffs, and totally ruin your game. If anything needed an errata, it would be them. But I still don't believe they should errata them. Instead, I will find ways to keep them from luring in the first place, as hard as it is. Why should the people that invested time and money in their belle models be punished? I can think of many more things in the game that is way more powerful than needing a 6 to summon or focusing to get 18" on a measly 1/3/4 attack. (Think Seamus' hat trick to deny damage, even on a red joker, the Two Victoria's buffs and killing spree, etc.). Again, they should compile all this and wait till a new edition. I think they tick off more people than you think. Part of the strategy of this game is trying to find things that work well or defend against the things you mentioned above. Also, the fun part is finding and building a crew you like to play and that works well. I play other games that I worked hard to get a good list for that I could win games with. It took time and money, but I was rewarded when I found out a good one that worked. And I don't have to worry about those companies coming along and changing it! It seems to me that when a good crew or combo is discovered in this game, they come along and destroy it. My guess is because they don't want a "good" crew that works, because then people will quit buying models after they have said crew. I don't think it has anything to do with "health of the game". I think when a crew gets too popular, it is a detriment to the sales of their other models, so they change it to cause people to go buy other stuff.
  6. I just got in from a game I played this evening where I found out about this new errata. What a bunch of crap! I just spent over $150 last week to assemble a new Arcanist crew. Just got them painted, put them on the table tonight, then my Mechnical Rider can't summon on a 6 because I'm informed of this stupid errata! I flipped a 6, which should have worked, but because of the errata I had to burn a high card from my hand, which totally screwed up one of my later activations. Then, to make it worse, I couldn't drop the scheme marker where I wanted cause of the errata. I contacted Wyrd last week about my disdain for errata they put out, and my suggestion on how they could fix things they need to fix without changing the models stats (I.e. Making an upgrade for a model to counter such effect). Their response was basically to say sorry, tough, and make no acknowledgment of my suggestion. I guess their answer it to errata some more stuff this week. Some of you may have read my previous posts on this issue of errata. This is not the first time I have ponied up cash for models that they come along and screw up after the fact. I think I am done spending money on this game. Every time I do, they change what I buy, and my money is wasted. I spent two weeks of reading, researching, and $150 spent to acquire this crew, and the most expensive ($ wise) model of the bunch gets errata for the worse and ruins the whole strategy I had for using it. Most of the time, this errata makes no sense. You change my austringer where I can't spend (1) AP to focus to get an 18" range for (1) AP of a measly 1/3/4 attack, yet a Rotten Belle can Lure twice with a Ca 7 with an 18" range with no TN or Focus requirement? See, makes no sense. I'm not saying the Belles should be errata-ed, but just an example to show how these errata do not make sense nor fit the purported purpose Wyrd claims. Wyrd, please take note of this disservice to your customers. You are going to lose customers due to the way you do this errata, and I am seriously thinking of being one of them. I can't spend money on something that could potentially not work as advertised. I now have over $100 worth of models you have nurfed in the last year. I will go play other games that don't change things in a blink of an eye when someone happens to play good with it. God forbid anyone figure out a good strategy and try to win a game with it. My advice is to make an upgrade for models to counter said strong effect, or wait and compile data and change it when you release a new edition. Or, just maybe, do the model's stat right the first time? One last note: Why does the forum change the word "nurf" (with an "e" instead of "u") to the word "cuddle" when you post on the forum?
  7. I say an upgrade to increase the range of Ramos' Summon the Swarm, so he can remain at a safe distance from enemies while summoning. Also, an upgrade to boost his defense at least +2. Df 4 is way too low for a master, especially with no decent defensive trigger like Riposte, Nice shot, my turn, etc. While speaking of upgrades, I remember seeing one that prohibits the target of your attack from using soulstones. Do the Arcanists not have access to one of these? Would come in really handy for Eliminate the Leadership.
  8. My advice would be not to buy the Wave 1-4 books. They are already obsolete because they errata a bunch of models and are now inaccurate. Trust me, I learned the hard way. Bought all the books, studied, ordered a couple hundred dollars worth of models, then found out a good portion of them had been changed for the worse through errata.
  9. I mainly just use it for the card draw. I played the local henchman the other night, and he kept cheating his low cards in his hand on duels he was losing anyway to keep his hand smaller than mine so I couldn't card draw with the scales.
  10. I would only ever use tip the scales on my own models. At Ca 3, it's near impossible to do it to an enemy.
  11. True, you might need some more cards after having to discard two to do the 0 action. Or, if you have a high enough card in hand, you could Tip the scales for ++. This sword fighter upgrade really resembles the Trick Shooting of the Lone Marshall. I like it.
  12. Oh come on, you don't think Lady Justice would pet-sit for Perdita? ?
  13. Wow! That's awesome. Looking forward to that. Now, if they could just remove the Perdita restriction from the Enslaved Nephilim, I'd be set.
  14. Someone told me that Lady Justice is getting an upgrade that will make her super strong. Anyone know much about it?
  15. Not to go off topic, but why is it the word "cuddle" shows up in the forum when you type the word "n--f"? (Name brand of a spongy type ball)
  16. Basically, I'm suggesting that they should allow soulstone use to gain a suit after the card is flipped from the deck. So if you need a ram, and you flip a 13 ram, you won't need to use a soulstone, but if you flip a 13 mask, you would need to use one, etc.
  17. True, but you can still take Guild guardsmen. Guess that doesn't make it a declared Guild faction though. If I were to pick the best Guild only master, hands down Perdita. Given, I haven't played but a couple of Guild masters, but after looking at all the stats, she seems to be the strongest, plus I have played my best using her. I can't seem to see what all the hype about Nellie is. To me, she looks really weak. Other than having great damage prevention through cheating, and the ability to drop a scheme marker outside of AP, I don't see much else that she has to offer.
  18. Yes! I've yet to play him or play against him, but after reading up on him, he looks really good. The fact that he can take Guild and Ten Thunders gives tons of options. My favorite Guild models are the hounds, cheap and super good. With McCabes totem, they all become significant, without having to be close to each other. 4 dogs for 12 points, all significant, that's huge. Plus if he takes Toshiro, you can also take Punk Zombies! That's three factions in one crew, all great models.
  19. Yes, but by changing it like I suggested, it still would not be too powerful, because soulstones are still a very limited resource, and will still go quick regardless.
  20. I'm fairly new to the game, I started with Perdita, and have now started playing Lady Justice, plus I plan to expand further. There is one thing that I am missing, my Enslaved Nephilim! Since he has the restriction of only being with Perdita, I can't take him in other crews. I really need his shackled action! The only other push I have currently is the Judge's stand for justice, which has a TN you must pass, then Francisco's upgrade, Hermanos de Armas, that gives a push towards him, but has a limited range of 5" and requires you to push into base contact, which could block you from doing things in some cases. None of these are near as good as the Nephilim's Shackled action, which has great range and movement, plus can be done twice since it is 1 AP, and nothing required to get it to go off. Ive looked through all my books, and have yet to notice a model or upgrade I can take to match what Shackled can do. Can anyone recommend a model or upgrade to get this? If not Guild, a mercenary perhaps? Thanks.
  21. Another vote for the Lone Marshall. He's a Guild Marshall, so he benefits from the buffs with that crew. Also, I never play Lady Justice without taking at least one Death Marshall recruiter.
  22. One thing I'd like to see change is to allow you to burn a soulstone for a suit after the card is flipped, not before. That way you don't waste the stone if you don't need to.
  23. You're right, it seems many games are going digital. Warmachine is one that I know of that makes updates to models electronically. They have cards as well, but also an app that people use instead of the cards during the actual game. Call me old fashioned, but I prefer books and printed cards. I rather pick a up a printed Rulebook and skim through rather than swipe through an iPad. When I game, its nice to escape the world of electronics. It is a pain in a way though, as my game bag is super heavy from all the different rulebooks I have ( the new Warhammer 40,000 Rulebook is heavy and huge). But I deal with it. I do however make use of the crewfaux app to build my crew, but that's about it.
  24. Ok, thanks. I just played against Seamus (got crushed by the way), and my opponent was of the opinion that if he succeeded in luring my model, if it stopped in another of his models engagement range that has terrifying, I would have to pass a horror duel because "I ended a walk action in its engagement range". Like I figured, it was not actually an actual walk action and subject to a horror duel.
  25. I did a search, but could not find my answer, so any insight is appreciated. The lure Action states : "Move the target model it's walk. The model must end the move as close to this model as possible." Question 1: Does the walk have to be in a straight line, and/ or do obstructions stop the walk, or does the walk continue around the obstruction? Question 2: If you are moved your walk by the lure action, is it considered a "walk action" for horror duel purposes? I assume it is not since it says to "move the model its walk" and not "enemy model takes a walk action commanded by this models controller". Thanks for the help.
