  1. I downloaded the card file to my iPad. It was a ZIP file. The iPad copied it to “Files” then directed me to open it with “Pages”. (I normally download pdf to iBooks, but it would not allow it). When I opened it in pages, it was there, but every time I tried to swipe between cards, it would lock up, presumably due to the size of the file. If the cards were able to be downloaded individually, rather than as a zip, it would probably work. I looked at the Dropbox app, but it requires a google account, which I don’t have. I’ll just wait for my faction pack to arrive, assuming it does, because the retailer told me that he didn’t receive all the product do to the distribution issues.
  2. Thanks for your insight, but I have never been to Gencon, nor do I subscribe to social media. This forum is as close to social media that I get. So if a google search won’t pull it up, most likely I won’t see it. You may be right about the iPad thing, but that still doesn’t explain why Wyrd won’t update their website and make these things more easily available to all. I’d even pay for a download if they offered it easily. To those above, thanks for the info on the core boxes.
  3. Who is Kyle and do you have a link for the twitter page you are referring?
  4. I understand, it would at least be nice to know what comes in the box. For example, I already have Lucius, but I will need a few other Elite keyword models. Knowing what will be in the core box will help me know whether to wait for the core box or try and find some existing stock to make my crew. This whole release has just been frustrating. I pre-ordered the faction packs from a retailer that I’ve ordered from many times in the past, but am still waiting for them to ship. Evidently it is caught up in the distribution debacle, and no estimate for when I’ll get it. Plus, no updates on Wyrd website for rules, cards, anything. It is still the link to the RPG site for 2nd Edition. I did find the files for the cards and rules on some link on this forum for something called Dropbox, but the card files are so huge and in zip form, my iPad won’t handle it. It locks it up. I was able to get the rules downloaded at least. Im not going to rant and rave and bash Wyrd and continue to carry on like some folks in another thread, but if Wyrd is reading this, I implore you to reach out to your customers and try hard to fix these issues. I know some is a distribution issue, but the impression made upon customers reflects upon Wyrd. This, along with not updating your website, etc, is not going to make customers happy. My local game store has stopped carrying Malifaux even before the new release date because, according to the owner, “Lack of communication and support from Wyrd”. Please address these issues. OK, that’s all I have to say about that. So back to the original topic, does anyone know what the Lucius and Dashel core boxes will contain?
  5. So I have porused the release schedule from Wyrd’s letter to retailers, plus have done several Google searches, and cannot find when the Lucius and Dashel core boxes will be available, nor any of the new models I am looking for such as Agent 46, etc. On top of that, there is no info on what models will be included in any of the core boxes. Does anyone here have any idea on when to expect these and other products to come our way and more info on what they contain? I’m not sure what the heck is going on, 3e is released and Wyrd can’t even update their own website.
  6. Does anyone know if any of the new models released in a future Core box will be avaialable separately? (i.e. Agent 46, Alan Reid, etc.) It would be a shame to have to buy a core box of 6 models for only one model that I require.
  7. I just read through the 3e rulebook. Do summoned models no longer gain slow and come in with half health? If not, summon looks pretty powerful. From what I read it looks like the only restriction is they can’t interact on that turn.
  8. I’ve yet to play a 3e game, still waiting on my faction packs, but I so far like the hiring rules. I like how they limit your hiring to a keyword unless you pay a soul stone penalty. This will help prevent these cheesy tournament crews that many were using. This will pretty much limit crews to their theme. I think it will be good for the game. I also like the limit on models. No more spam is awesome. Now if only GW would follow this model!
  9. Does anyone know if Crew Faux will be updated?
  10. Yes, if your distributor is dropping the ball, you fire them and hire another to move your product.
  11. Thanks! I was looking all over the Wyrd website. Guess I was in the wrong spot.
  12. It’s June 28, where’s the rules at? I can’t find anything online.
  13. I am not too in tune yet with the new edition, but it sounds like it will be less complicated and generally cleaned up. This gives me optimism. I quit playing about a year ago due to how insanely convuluted the game got, and all the BS and shenanigans associated with it. It was no longer fun to play. Im eager to experience the new edition, unfortunately though, Malifaux may be dead in my area. Everyone quit playing, and now the local game store will no longer stock Malifaux. I think the players laid back when the new edition was announced, but got tired of waiting since it took so long to release and went on to other games. The store has quit stocking Malifaux due to the disappearance of players, and evidently, due to poor communication and customer service with Wyrd. A big complaint I hear from the store is a lack of support and communication from Wyrd, plus a boggled roll out of 3rd edition. Hopefully, the players will return at least to give 3e a shot.
  14. I’ve been off the forum for quite a while, as I haven’t been playing malifaux for about the past year. When I heard about this new edition a few days ago, I’m cautiously optimistic that this new edition will bring me back to the game. I have much invested in time and dollars with models, so I would love to get excited about it again. The core mechanics of malifaux is great, but the game just got to the point where it was so complex, it made it frustrating and a miserable experience for the average player, not to mention a beginner wanting to get in on it. The last set of schemes and strategies are a perfect example. I counted no less than 10 different conditions and requirements on one scheme to make you eligible to score it. Even after reading it multiple times, I still missed some things. It makes for a confusing and complex game setting and not an enjoyable and relaxing experience that a game should be. I realize that these current strats and schemes are the product of multiple “fixes” over time to stop cheesy and over the top combos that had an unfair advantage. So I feel a new edition is needed. I really hope this new edition will simplify the game and make it harder for the “experts” to exploit certain combos and loopholes, and allow the average player to relax and have fun with the game.
  15. As some of you are elaborating on, the game is getting far too complex, more than it needs to be. Some characters abilities and actions are so complex that it is more confusing and frustrating than anything else. Like: "When "x" models are within "x" range, you may take a test with TN "x", and with a tome, you get "x" ability until your next activation if "x" models have already activated this turn, and no enemy models are within "x" range of "x" scheme markers. After resolving, you may push "x" inches." ...........When you do get everything aligned and finally pull off this feat with the 20:1 odds it took to do it, your opponent has a model that negates "x" ability and it was all for nothing. Now, admittedly that's a little sarcastic in nature, but that's how it feels sometimes. I would prefer to see more models like Perdita that are simple and straightforward, instead of all these other models that are way convoluted. After looking through my model stat books, the new models continue to become more and more convoluted. Things were better when it was just Perdita, Lady Justice, Lilith, Seamus, etc. Again, I feel a new edition is needed to clean up the models and simplify the strats and schemes.
  16. How is giving my opinion trolling? I am sincere in everything I post. I like this game, but am frustrated at times with the ever increasing complexity and constant errata. I feel it's time for Malifaux to undergo an overhaul with a new edition that simplifies many aspects of the game. In a couple of other games I play, they just recently released new editions. Over time, those games had become extremely complex and began to lose players and interest. They released new editions that simplified the game, and now those games have had a huge resurgence despite their age. I suggest this is where Malifaux should go.
  17. That's the whole idea, since Malifaux is not very balanced, and has powerful crews and weak crews, it would allow a weak crew a chance to win against a powerful crew. Hence, it would add balance.
  18. After reading more of these strategies, I'm scratching my head. The strategy with the table quarters, now instead of most models in a quarter, its most soulstone cost in a quarter. Do they realize how much of a pain it will be to keep track of that? It's easy to count individual models, but to keep counting and keeping a sum of different models for you and your opponent turn after turn? They just added about an hour to a typical game with that one. And no more always available Claim Jump? That was one you could always count on going into a game. Knowing claim Jump was always available, I could build a crew to be able to accomplish it every time, leaving me only two other strat/scheme to worry about come gametime.
  19. And it still would be. You'd still have to accomplish the strat to get to flip the card for VP. Adding an element like this would help balance the game, especially when playing a mediocre crew against a solid, powerful crew. I play another game that has a similar concept as this, except it uses dice instead of cards. Many VP are determined by rolling D3. I have played against powerful armies that nearly totally routed my army, but I was still in the game at the end due to scoring VP with concepts such as the random dice roll and random objectives (like schemes).
  20. Another suggestion: On some strats, when scoring VP, flip a card. If it is weak, score one VP; moderate, score two VP; if severe, score 3 VP; Red joker, score four VP; and black joker, no VP. This would be fun and add more randomness to the game, along with an element of luck.
  21. Is it just me, or are these strategies/ schemes getting more complicated? Even in gg 2017, I would have to read the card multiple times and still I would get something wrong. These new ones are even more complicated. I wish they would move in the opposite direction and clean up these strats and schemes up into a more simple format. For example, how about: -kill model "X"for "X" VP -get "x" VP for first model killed - get "x" VP for holding an objective - get "x" VP for most unenaged models in a randomly drawn quadrant, etc. Those are just examples of simpler strats and schemes that would, to me, make the game much more enjoyable. This game is complicated enough as is. I haven't been playing it much lately due to frustration of the game and also the constant nerfing of every model I buy. I want to get back into playing, but I have a feeling this will just frustrate me more.
  22. Ok, thanks. I thought CrewFaux was the official Malifaux app. Just looked it up, it's in App Store. Thanks
  23. I just checked CrewFaux. The updated cost of models are there, but not GG2018.
