  1. I just had my second game with Mr. Cooper, not just a blast, but an extravaganza, as my Cooper had a re-match vs the swamp hag. Break the line, Corner I took Detonate and Breakthrough Zoraida chose Outflank and Claim Jump. And we both ignored Research Mission. My crew : Cooper and his monkeys, Baritone Lola, Vasquez, Angelica, The Duet and the big showstopper The Beast Within + 6 stones. (I only took Vogel/Beast because I bought him for Lucius in M2E, and I really wanted to finally field him). My opponent brought : Mama Z, McTavish, The Mate, Bokor, 2 Silurid and some Gupps. I placed my markers leaning towards the left flank, while Zoraida placed one in the middle (telegraphing Claim Jump) and one in the right corner. Turn 1 : I sent the Monkeys out to scout ahead, while Lola, Vasquez and Angelica moved to secure the left flank - facing off vs a Silurid and a Gupp. Z moved her heavy hitters towards the center, while sending a single Silurid to the right corner where it managed to kick the can. Then Colette opened the ball with a few Presto-changos sending the Coryphee and the beast 8” up the field. The Coryphee kicked the center can, split and kicked it again, and were now stating down at McT and the Mate. Meanwhile the Beast charged towards the rightmost corner but failed to reach the Silurid. Turn 2 : Vasquez and Lola secured the left, kicking a can and burning the Silurid and gupp into ash. Angelica managed to kick another, but McT caught up with her and gave her a nasty gator bite. Meanwhile in the center, one of the coryphee was killed off, but the first Mate didn’t finish the job, instead he made his Claim Jump. While the Beast fought to no avail with the Silurid securing the rightmost can. Score Cooper 1, Zoraida 2 Turn 3 : Lola and Vasquez came to Angelica’s aid, setting McT on fire and giving him a good thrashing, but he managed to kill poor Angie. The Mate managed to kick the center can back across the line, as the last Coryphee ran to obscure Z’s vision by stabbing her eyes out. In return it took a beating, but still held together. Cooper got back in the game, kicking the center can back across the line and then showed the mate his fanciest sword trick. While the beast finally managed to eat the rightmost Silurid, but the can was still on the wrong side of the line. Score Cooper 2, Zoraida 2 Turn 4 : I suddenly had an epiphany, I needed to score more than the strategy. I had the Coryphee right on the edge of Z’s deployment zone, but with the Mate threatening to appear from the rear, I decided to try and murder the Bokor instead. It failed and were torn apart, and the grumpy Mate appeared from the corner and hurried towards his center Claim. The beast transformed into Vogel, bringing him in contact with the final can, and two interacts later, it was across the line. Lola and Vasquez gave up on trying to murder McT, instead they surrounded him with scheme markers for Detonate. Score : Cooper 4, Zoraida 2 Turn 5 : saw some masterpiece fate manipulation from the swamp hag. Cooper started by burying the first Mate, but he still managed to stake his final claim. While Lola and Vasquez suddenly realized that they’d been to eager in setting McT on fire, and with a little euthanisia from the Bokor I was denied my second Detonate point. Final score : Cooper 4 strat + 1 Detonate Zoraida 1 Strat + 2 Claim Jump - Vogel/beast performed quite well. There were some rough patches of severe terrain on his way to secured the corner - which he could ignore. And once there he had ample power to secure the marker with his 2” reach. Lola/Vasquez are a deadly murder duo, piling on Distracted and Burning, combined with their speed. They’re true Nightmares. I finally got the hang of using the doves and Presto-Chango. I’m far from proficient, but I now see the use and once I master it, tears will fall. But teleporting the Coryphee and Beast won me the game. The Coryphee is scary, but walking a tightrope vs Mama Z with their low willpower. Still, having four AP is impressive. I don’t know whether it was worth sacrificing them in that way, and maybe I should have focused more on simply scheming, once they were reduced to one, but… it worked. And now I think, I’ve wrapped my head on the whole dance apart thing. - All in all, it was a great second game with Cooper. Playing the performers is a wonderful dance - much like the Wood Elves of 6th. Ed. Warhammer, but just like the Wood Elves they feel borderline broken. Compared to my Neverborn I suddenly feel I’m playing on Easy mode. What do you think about Performers? The silurid saw what was coming - a giant werewolf. A view down the centreline. Having cleaned up the left flank, Vasquez and Lola kicked the final can and prepared to go save Angelica from the evil gator guy. Cooper facing off vs Zoraida after sword tricking the Mate - or rather exchanging courteous glances. The centreline mid round one. The final setup. The Mate staked his Claim, while McT denied me my Detonate by burning to death. Cooper thanking Zoraida for putting up a good fight, then exchanged tricks of the trade on puppeteering.
  2. GAME OVER So the game is now over. MI brought : Mr. Cooper and his monkeys, Baritone Lola, Vasquez, Angelica Durand, 2 Coryphee, Thin Lizzie w. Magical Training to face : Mama Z, First Mate, Spawn Mother Gatreaux Bokor, McTavish, a gator and a silurid. The nature of the board, divided it into three zones, a right, a middle, and a left - and even Mama Z had trouble reaching beyond. The left flank quickly turned into a skirmish, when the spawn mother and the first Mate rushed it. They were met with my ball carrier Vasquez, Barritone Lola and Thin Lizzie, but by sinking tons of soulstones into Breath of Fire the opposing henchmen were incinerated by turn 4 (and Vasquez eaten by Gupps). As I was the attacker, I was the only one with direct access to the centre, which were rigorously defended by Angelica and Cooper, as the swamp things (McTavish, a ball carrying gator and the bokor) tried to Breach it from the right flank, but when my Coryphee arrived from my right flank, it brought that advance to a full stop. Turn 3 was a stalemate - we’d both scored 1 strategy point, and I managed to Detonate Charges. A lucky monkey planted a red joker between Zoraida’s eyes, but-i was far from scoring Assassinate, as she wouldn’t allow it to explode But by turn 4, Lola managed to grab the ball and score a touchdown on Zoraida’s half. Meanwhile on the right flank the Coryphee stabbed McTavish to death, but then turned on Cooper and forced him to vanish in a puf of smoke. This in turn allowed Cooper to appear out of the monkey engaging Zoraida and perform a sword trick on her before disappearing once more - Z tried to get the Bokor to help, but it only managed to get her to 6 hits. So that was the first point of assasinate. 4-1 Turn 5 was just for show. A desperate Z tried to get healed by a Bokor, but no amount of healing works against a Sword Trick and a 13 popping out of a monkey, but before burying Z, Cooper teamed up with Lola and Angelica managed to get the ball in the centre, while the Coryphee held the opposing ball gator back on the right. So the final score 3 Strat, 2 Assassinate, 1 Detonate - vs - Strat 1, Vendetta (spawn mother vs Vasquez) 0, - Coming from Neverborn, I’m amazed by the performers. They’re fast, they hit deceptively hard and there’s plenty of defense. And the new Distracted condition is pure evil. I never really wrapped my head around Cooper, he mainly handed out Stunned and Distracted, and did his sword trick. But never really found out how to use presto-chango. Not that it wasn’t enough since he and the Coryphee held back the opposing point makers. The doves were nice, I managed to use a couple as stones, resummon them, then focused on using them as homing missiles. I wasn’t impressed by Angelica either. Although she managed to kill the pesky silurid posed to run the Strat along with the gator, and her extra move allowed me to get the final Strat point, but she never did something really cool. Then again… The tandem Fire Breath of Lola and Vasquez was devastating, Focus, stone an extra tome and pour on the burning with blast. After I had both the first Mate and the mother on burning +4, I knew the left flank was mine. Celebrity and Detonate Charges are a match made in Malifaux - it just felt nasty. But any advice on Cooper/Colette and Angelica would be much appreciated.
  3. So I’m finally putting Cooper on the table to bedazzle the world - although I could need some pointers, as it’s his first time on the stage. the pool is : Wedge Corrupted Ley Lines Death Beds, Vendetta, Catch and Release, Detonate Charges, Assassinate And my opponent will field Mama Z So how would you go about this?
  4. I’m gonna miss her Fears given form. And yes Mood Swings can be a game changed
  5. I’m looking at Pandora Tyrant-torn Original Pandora was the least interesting model in her crew. Basically just a gun platform. New Dora looks as if she’ll take a much more active part in supporting her crew, while being able to summon thevpoltergeist will allow a much more reckless use of it - and make room for aversions. Lucius is my second, Again Lucius wasn’t the most interesting character to play - despite being quite powerful. But his dishonorable version will be out there, taking heads and chewing bubble gum while still manipulating his crew.
  6. Stop wondering and just get the crew that makes you want to paint the most. You're inevitably choosing 'wrong' anyway and/or you're gonna need multiple masters, so stop overthinking and just doing it – you're gonna have a lot more discovering what's 'right' when playing anyways. - Besides... Pandora is my favourite master, and nothing really beats a murder baby with a giant frenzied teddy bear.
  7. I couldn’t care less about complaints about the state of a game, that changes in a year. I just want quality products
  8. Does it matter? The game changes every year, some things get more useful others less. Yet the overall balance is good, and we’re rather far from the Sandeep vs Nidodem end of M2E. - I’m much more worried about the declining quality of cards, printing etc. Recent cards feel more like they came from the office photocopy machine than a proper printer. I’m starting to suspect we’d get better quality from chinese bootleggers by now.
  9. @NabijisI find Candy to be amazing in any crew, she’s having an impact far beyond the resources you need to sink into her. She basically just needs a 13 of Masks/Stone to guarantee her teleport, and from then on she will just wreck an opposing crew with her mere presence. Tools for the Job is really what makes the lawyer cool. Sure you can throw around Obeys - and with False Witnesses, even your opponent can’t feel safe. But being able to recycle a severe is quite intimidating.
  10. A little repulsive procrastination. added a little shot to show the base effect.
  11. Same thing happens on my phone - just updated, but not on my iPad iOS 14.7
  12. @Roadhouse my thoughts exactly, as I set the crew up in the app. 😊
  13. Thanks @Roadhouse for the summary. Pandora is my favorite master - and I’m so looking forward to Tyrant-torn. While my next crew will be the Mama Z, so it sounds like the Emissary will find decent work - even if it means, I’ll have to get some Lyssa 😩 I was thinking about Dreamer and the spiders as well… but suddenly that’s a 25 stone chunk to set up two attacks, which would be less than impressive.
  14. That does it allow it to dole out severe damage easier, I imagine 😊
  15. I’m not really impressed with a 10 Stone beater with 2/3/4 damage track, though. Compared to Teddy or Nephilim. I was thinking, maybe he has synergy with Lucius - handing out Staggered to disrupt and give Reid/Investigators bonus damage. Or Pandora with pings and pushes.
  16. What synergies, combinations, strats & schemes do you like him in?
  17. I love the Baby/Teddy combo, it gives Teddy a little extra mobility, a little extra resilience from the healing and a lot of extra actions from Coordinated Attacks.
  18. It’s funny because with your avatar, I’d expect you to have put the insidious madnesses together. 😊
  19. Thanks. I got the idea from having too many encounters with suicidal deers in my headlights on dark country roads and just thought it would be fun to change the direction of the source of lighting 😊 My phone does kick up the brightness effect just a tiny notch, but the Liquitex Inks did a good job, and the effect carries into real life.
