  1. I have three Pistoleros de Latigo and the Lone Marshall standing on my desk, I'll try to get at least one of them done. Havo to find a different site to upload images however, photobucket is now charging for that privelege... Any recommendations?
  2. The capillary effect(??) pulling it up wouldn't be strong enough to do it like this, would it? I don't know, but I think it would certainly look better if it didn't. Maybe use a pin after the water is done and glue the tuft to that?
  3. @Franchute Nicely painted models! The bases are cool too, except that the water effect has run up the grass tufts a bit - but that's propably only really noticable in pictures. @Viruk Outstanding! Really like the eyes on Luther. @prof_bycid Good progress there. Like the bases, but I feel Angelicas may be a bit too tall. Personal taste really I finished the Beckoner, putting me at 26ss this month.
  4. @klatschi Nice progress with the ressers! For what masters are you painting these? Finished Dr. Dufresne:
  5. @H4ml3t Very nice progress on Angelica - I think taking some time really pays off for you! Alright, first off, the Guild Autopsy done: And some WIPs:
  6. And here you go, photographed the metal gamin. One of my regular opponents plays Arcanists and recently got Mei Feng, and I tried to match his colour scheme for the gamin. Also, I apparently forgot about this dude: He's been sitting in my cabinet, finished, for quite some time now...
  7. Gotta keep up here... Last months painting challenge left me with these guys: Actually tried to add some clutter and small details to my bases - worth it? I'm not super excited about it... Also got a Metal Gamin for Hoffmann finished that I've yet to photograph
  8. First WIP this month, the Guild Autopsy: (Quick snapshot with the phone, better pictures when it's done )
  9. My models for June: Beckoner for my brothers NB, the last of the three Guild Autopsies for my Resser friend, and Dr. Dufresne for me
  10. Guild Lawyer done, putting me at 27ss total this month
  11. Got Abuela done. Still pondering whether to paint her hat brim white. I did so on Francisco and it looks good, but her hat is already humungous and I do't want to emphasize it even more... What do you think?
  12. Finished both Guardians, and even started on my brothers second Guild Lawyer and Granny Ortega - who was by far the most annoying model I had to put together in a looong time
  13. Models based, basecoated and the metallics done (as you can see, the wash was still drying on them when I took the photo). On to all the details...
  14. @rubbe That's a pretty generalised statement Speaking only from personal experience, I can say that after my first games the Scales of Justice for example never saw play again. I didn't even bother getting the Flame(s) - but I have never not taken the Printing Press when playing Nelly. That, for me, seems to suggest that not all Totems are created equal, and that some are very subpar.
  15. This month I'll continue to add robots for Hoffmann to my Guild:
  16. @klatschi Nice hogs! Like the fur on Penelope. @Chou Well done! Is the Freikorps Specialist staning on a base insert? @Burnin' Coal Awesome faces, skin and fabrics! Ok, so here's a groupshot of what I've painted this last month...dammit, forgot that today is already may... Lawyer(6), Dashel(9), Lucius(15),Hoffmann(15),Attendant(2),Ryle(10) - Ryle got only finished two minutes to midnight basically 57 Soulstones all together (if my math and pointcosts are correct).
  17. Yeah, me too! Only nitpick I have are the moldlines and small spaces where parts fit together, these coul have been better prepared (ie scraped away and greenstuffed close respectively)
  18. @Butch You're right, the lamp should definitely be brighter. Went a bit overboard there with glazing the colours together I think. @FoeRender What do you propose for the bases? I really dislike pieces where the base overshadows the model, which is why mine are so basic. I'm thinking a bit more different vegetation and maybe (on larger bases) small scatter, but that can easily look too busy...
  19. Easiest way to start practicing eyes is on minis where you can see only one of them No cross-eyed look possible then. But seriously, I actually greenstuffed additional hair one two of my Infinity models to have to paint only one eye on them, and it works.
  20. Finally finished my Emissary, after about a month of on-and-offf building and painting. Kinda happy how he turned out, especially the OSL, which was (I think) my second try ever at something like this. What do you think? I used just glazes after glazes for the effect - worth it or should I consider another method?
  21. @Wolfpact Are there Neverborn who are still human? I was under the impression that e.g. the guys from the starter set are ex-humans, transformed by the black blood. I can't think of a bona fide human among them... (except for (ruleswise) Jakob Lynch and his bunch, who are dual faction) Also, how much of the whole labour-camp-facist stuff is actually the Guilds doing (as an organization) and not that of Lucius (who is a Neverborn)? I always had the impression that the earthside Organization only cared about the soulstones, and didn't care how they got there - and the former GG and his secretary chose to go that way. And much of the inefficiancy/buerocracy may be blamed on Lucius undermining them as well - RoF seems to suggest that in Hoffmans Vignette.
  22. @Franchute No, I haven't. Dark brown would propably have the same effect, but the lines are quite thin and around an already small part - not sure if it would make that much of a difference. Too light and you lose the effect. A mid-tone brown might work, or maybe even dark skintone... Certainly worth a try
  23. @H4ml3t Sure, no problem, here you go: 1. After basecoating (I basecoat in white, so maybe you can skip this step) paint the eyes black, including the area around them. 2. Paint the eyeballs white. Correct their form with black if needed. 3. Paint vertical lines in black through the middle of the eyes to create the pupils (lines are important - if you just dot them in, your models will look quite scared ) 4. After that, paint the skin around the eye and clean their shape up. Leave a small black line around them, this helps them pop. It makes it a lot easier if you paint the eyes before you do the rest of the face. If you find the eyes hard to reach for doint the pupils, try holding the model upside down. Hope that helps!
