  1. Come join us Sundays for Malifaux 3rd Edition at the Dragon's Hoard. Whether you are brand new to gaming or a veteran of the tabletop, purely casual or tournament competitive, we know you will find a great community here! Please, feel free to ask for an M3E demo, you'll know who to ask, cause I'll be the one looking daper in my Wyrd Shirt. I will be available from 2pm on, but our community is always ready to talk with you and answer any questions you have, should I not be there.
  2. Was any one play testing Jack for 3e?
  3. When he mentioned his plan b.
  4. @I'm a Teapot! Papabox Hold This doesn't work any more. Errata'ed out.
  5. To be honest, I only had Jakunna who could have benefited and she was pulling things to herself. 3" Ml is so good with her.
  6. Driven by Injustice is plused by the target when it fails the duel, not by Jack. Im wrong, had to read the card.
  7. Playing the game you want to play means you played the game right! I have a very static Daw build. I played on a league and should have declared Jack... 🤦🏽‍♂️ Growing would be great if you didn't have to neuter Jack's main mechanic. I would rather have Jack running strong than any amount of Guilty. Because you were themed Tormented, the crew would have an extra 3" movement. And don't forget his (0) Driven by Injustice(?). It's a great way to get movement, as well as, test your opponents hand.
  8. MunkyMuddFace Glad to hear you had some fun with the Ghost of Malifaux! LOL I have a couple of questions, if you don't mind. I (we) would like to understand what your thoughts were and the strategies you were looking for. Why Growing Injustice over Writhing Torment or The Bigger They Are? Why not a Nurse and Johan(a)? I don't want you to think I'm being critical of your list, these are models that I and many other Daw players have used.
  9. Thanks for the suggestions. I'm going to have a heck of a time deciding what to take! 😂
  10. I'm really happy to see this thread active again! I have a match up against Pandora coming up. Any suggestions? Not really sold on Jack's new upgrades for this match, as I'm thinking a more aggressive approach Jack: (3 Curses, Bigger They Are and Oathkeeper or Scramble) Ashes 2 ABomb Sue W/ Return Fire Not sure about the rest of the crew. Was thinking about extra range with Trappers or Gunslinger. Or Vanessa to do some blasting...
  11. @psychogeek You should proxy one in your next game, that way you get to see of it works for you.
  12. Its all about your the way you play the game, what you choose to do that should really drive your builds. I personally like the Trappers and board/scheme runner when I'm playing against a more melee-centric faction (Neverborn). If I'm going against Guild, Librarians to blast off models to hit the master. A Tormented Ashes can keep up with and support Jack, especially when upgraded with the bigger they are. The 7 are a toolbox, just know they will help you to deny your opponent, rather than help you achieve your schemes. Dead Outlaws look to be really fun to learn, with Improved Montressor being interesting as well, although more so with other masters... All in all, only my opinion, play with everything you own that can fit into the crew and myhap you'll find the best one for you!
  13. @fauxreigner; @Seadhna: Sorry to follow up so late, time of year, you know. I was asking more for tactical reasons. I run Collodi Fated w/ Brutal and Hodgepodge, which can control resources reasonably well.
  14. Unless something has gone and upset the balance horribly to my favor, I wouldn't summon Deso. It's trading down activations. Unless an interact scheme (e.g. Exhaust) is getting scored on them! Faxureigner, I'm digging your list. More of a competition list than mine. I have a question: Why the Effigy and not another Abomb? I really don't use a lot of stones myself, but I like stacking my hand.
  15. Casual/Fun Strats: (bear in mind that I am low balling the crew, when Lady Luck kicks you in the shins, your going down! Stupid Gremlins!) Collect: tough but doable; interference: same; head hunter: ok, collect, stash: harder, but still doable, extract: pretty good Schemes: (I've done) Hunting Party (or any kill oriented scheme, but I've been working on marker dropping lately) Breakthrough, Mark , Line (I once used his marker drop (0) and had to pick 2 up to get it, Jack and Ashes just went bat guano crazy, Stupid Gremlins!) Jack Daw: Writhing Torment, Bigger They Are, 3 Curses; 4 stones Ashes & Dust 2 Abomination Johan Lust Nurse The Guilty
  16. Quetzalcoatl with a pair of rocket launchers. 1 ap, once per turn, place 2 50mm blast tokens, 6" in LOS, at end of turn, enemy models within 3" take TN 14 Horror or suffer 4 damage. 1 AP, activate blast token effect 0 target enemy scheme marker, convert to blast marker
  17. A&D needs practice to use well. That being said, the add mobility Jack gives him is scary! Or, card cycle off him, to prep your hand for the big throw down!
  18. Which would be fine. Doesnt the Emissary become tormented with the Damned Conflux? Should I try Johan instead of effigy?
  19. Not for tournament play. This is more casual/theory play. Just to see how these models work together. I'll adapt the list as I play it, to fit how I like to play. I'm thinking Jack- 3 curses, Writhing Torment, The bigger they are Hannah Anna Lovelace hodgepodge emissary- Damned, curse Librarian Guilty x2 It leaves me with his cache of two Soulstone, but I try not to use them when I'm learning a new master or henchmen. They are hard enough to learn as is, without the intricacies of the Soulstone variable.
  20. I have wanted to hire Hannah and Anna with the Emmisary, just to see how it runs (building them now! Lol) in a Tormented crew. I think each brings a good mechanic to Jack's crew. So my advice would be to run her in a few different pools and see how she does for you. What might work great for somebody else may not be your playstyle, so won't be as good for you.
  21. Levi's "other utilities" are his crew building combinations. His card and upgrades give him one thing to do, finish off models. His other mechanic, summoning is dependent on him killing models. The errata to him was in response to people complaining about him and nothing more.
  22. I think that, with the inclusion of Terra Cotta Warrior in Pariah of Iron lists, To the Earth might be less situational. Of course, 2 Oathkeeper rounds might be better...
  23. Sloth also has his aura Lazy Sunday. If you can overlap it with multiple hazardous terrain effects, it now becomes a question of a card or slow, since 2 damage on top of possible hazardous damage... Highly situational, but something Jack can get done.
  24. So I will be participating in a Slow Grow over the next six weeks. I will be using Collodi as I have wanted an excuse to play Neverborn, but a new player to the game will be using Lilith (which is the master I really wanted to try, lol!). I have never done a slow grow, it's 26 stone and box only event. I am wondering, should I play as many models as possible and only have 1 or 2 upgrades or build upgrades up first, then hire models?
  25. Lust would be great, when your posting at work and forget that she Ca's and doesn't Sh. It happens. Envy on the other hand, would probably also do well with it on.
