Here are work in progress photographs of my two December models, both beasts. For the base of the Rogue Necromancy, I have painted flame colors onto some greenstuff and covered it with layer of gloss enamel. I am going to try using cracked earth paint over this with the idea that the cracks will open up and reveal the bright colors underneath. Not sure it this will work, but we'll know in a couple days.
And here is a bonus holiday-time model: the Butcher Claus by MiniCrate. Cheers all!

Yup----that did it. The happy whining of a 3-D printer is now a regular feature at my place.

@Caedrus Sign me up for Minion level, if you would. I have to aim a bit low this year so I can keep up with the other games. However, I would have felt bad giving it a miss entirely with a new person taking the helm. Thanks again for taking this on, Caedrus.
@Franchute Well done this year! Thanks for all your work, especially the SS errors I made a few times.

Ahhh! Month is half gone I am not done priming! Who turned the temporal adjustment to 11? Hoping to prime and base-coat on Tuesday. Cheers from the land of corn, all.

For this last month of the 2018 challenge I will paint up the alternate Rogue Necromancy and a Corrupted Hound. Need to give November's Crockett some new critters to play with.
Cheers all.

@RikkZebra! Zebra!

Oooo! If you can pull off the badge thing, then I will need to reassess my plans! I was going to take a year off to catch up on Necromunda, Fallout, etc. But shiny things like this I can't resist.

Thanks for being willing to take this on, @Caedrus. I have absolutely no authority here, as I am just anther Wyrd fan. So this was just my preference. I do think support from from the Head Office would change things, even if they are all super-righteous folks. But I don't want to tell you how to run this if you take it on.
Cheers

I think this is something we should have discussed before. On my side I'm not sure I like the idea of prizes to be honest.
Agreed. While I thank Caedrus for stepping up, I prefer to continue as it is. Friendly and casual.

There are so many great models this month! I really got time-crunched this month and just rush-finished Crockett in the final few hours of November. I did not have time to work on the splitting log effect I hoped to do, but I got it done nonetheless. The photo is low resolution on purpose so that my lack of detail work this month won't be too visible.
Franchute: my November total is 19 SS = Crockett (9) + 2 * terrain (2*5)
On to December and adventure!

I am right there with you, @wobbly_goggy . I finally got my second Necromunda crew assembled (Van Saar) and now am scrambling to finish up my November pledge. The thanksgiving holiday here allowed me to knock out my two terrain pieces for 10 SS so far. Still have Paul Crockett to finish up this week.

Hello fellow challenge painters! This month I am going to do Crockett and two pieces of terrain, one of which will go into Ramos' spider factory board. I found an old metal swamp base with a stump that lines up very nicely with Crockett's axe. I am going to try to suspend two halves of a split piece of wood to either side---wish me luck.

Like double A seven, I painted up Amina Naidu. I really need to practice a lot on painting faces. This one was made a bit tricky with a slightly pebbled primer surface, but still aim to work on developing this next. I have a good book on model painting I need to carve out some time to read. The massive Grootslang was done last week. So my October total sits at:
15 SS = Amina (9) + Grootslang (6)

Thanks, Franchute!
That rock under Asura looks real.

I have finished the Grootslang for the first part of my October pledge. This was a really fun one to try some new techniques with. I can't believe he actually dwarfs that massive base that I thought was going to be way too large for any model (but had to have nonetheless). Over a week to finish the last model? Unheard of!

@Caedrus Beautiful work on the flesh tones on the Construct.

I found these 'office supplies' for Ramos' office upstairs in the spider factory. I will likely set these up in the corner up there. The plan with the many plastic bottles and flasks is to drill out the bottom and then paint the inside so that they show coloured liquid while retaining the outer 'glass.' May need to make some large bookshelves to hold some of the stuff. Not sure how much progress I will make on this board right now with the monthly painting challenge, but the holidays are coming and that comes with a lot of Malifaux progress.

Welcome back, @SilentSeeker ! This has been one of my favourite threads to follow over the past few years. Glad you are back at it. The board is amazing.

Grootslang's base is done! Now waiting for the humidity to drop in a few days so I can prime the beast itself and Amina without pebbling the surface.
Happy painting everyone.

@Boomstick Is that Gaki doing the worm? Love it!

October already! It feels like I was just painting for the monthly challenge yesterday.
This month I will tackle the Grootslang and Amina Naidu. With the Grootslang, I finally have a model to put on the 50 mm Wyrd sewer base that will not be lost in the massiveness of this base (which I love, BTW Wyrd).
Cheers all.

@Chou @prof_bycid your ss amount please.
Darn! I really should know better. 25 SS for September, Franchute.
Edit: Sorry, @Franchute. I made the dumb assumption that henchmen were 10 SS when I should have gone to the binder and looked up Firestarter's cost. Glad you caught that for me.

My Kaeris and proxy Firestarter are done. The lighter-coloured features got washed out in the sunlight which is a bit of a bummer as I was happy with most of them. Ended up finishing on the last day possible again. This working thing sucks. Cheers, all.

I managed to get Kaeris to hover above her sewer base. Even the piano wire wasn't going to be rigid enough, so I drilled into her model, drilled through the stone wall, and then cut the drill bit to shape and super-glued it in as the support. Should hold.
I just have a few touch-ups on the base, and then the details on Kaeris. Cheers all.

Monthly Painting Challenge - December
in Miniature Showcase

The Corrupted Hound is done, for 3 SS of my December pledge. The base for the Rogue Necromancy did not work as planned and only base colours done so far. The bonus seasonal model is too fun and keeps distracting me from my pledge. I have his base painted up and most base colours on him.
