  1. Here are work in progress photographs of my two December models, both beasts.  For the base of the Rogue Necromancy, I have painted flame colors onto some greenstuff and covered it with layer of gloss enamel.  I am going to try using cracked earth paint over this with the idea that the cracks will open up and reveal the bright colors underneath.  Not sure it this will work, but we'll know in a couple days.

And here is a bonus holiday-time model:  the Butcher Claus by MiniCrate.  Cheers all!

  2. There are so many great models this month!  I really got time-crunched this month and just rush-finished Crockett in the final few hours of November.  I did not have time to work on the splitting log effect I hoped to do, but I got it done nonetheless.  The photo is low resolution on purpose so that my lack of detail work this month won't be too visible.

    Franchute: my November total is 19 SS = Crockett (9) + 2 * terrain (2*5)

    On to December and adventure!

  3. Hello fellow challenge painters!  This month I am going to do Crockett and two pieces of terrain, one of which will go into Ramos' spider factory board.  I found an old metal swamp base with a stump that lines up very nicely with Crockett's axe.  I am going to try to suspend two halves of a split piece of wood to either side---wish me luck.

  4. Like double A seven, I painted up Amina Naidu.  I really need to practice a lot on painting faces.  This one was made a bit tricky with a slightly pebbled primer surface, but still aim to work on developing this next.  I have a good book on model painting I need to carve out some time to read.  The massive Grootslang was done last week.  So my October total sits at:

    15 SS = Amina (9) + Grootslang (6)

  5. I have finished the Grootslang for the first part of my October pledge.  This was a really fun one to try some new techniques with.  I can't believe he actually dwarfs that massive base that I thought was going to be way too large for any model (but had to have nonetheless).  Over a week to finish the last model?  Unheard of!

  6. I found these 'office supplies' for Ramos' office upstairs in the spider factory.  I will likely set these up in the corner up there.  The plan with the many plastic bottles and flasks is to drill out the bottom and then paint the inside so that they show coloured liquid while retaining the outer 'glass.'  May need to make some large bookshelves to hold some of the stuff.  Not sure how much progress I will make on this board right now with the monthly painting challenge, but the holidays are coming and that comes with a lot of Malifaux progress.

  7. October already!  It feels like I was just painting for the monthly challenge yesterday.

This month I will tackle the Grootslang and Amina Naidu.  With the Grootslang, I finally have a model to put on the 50 mm Wyrd sewer base that will not be lost in the massiveness of this base (which I love, BTW Wyrd).

    Cheers all.

  8. I managed to get Kaeris to hover above her sewer base.  Even the piano wire wasn't going to be rigid enough, so I drilled into her model, drilled through the stone wall, and then cut the drill bit to shape and super-glued it in as the support.  Should hold.  :)

I just have a few touch-ups on the base, and then the details on Kaeris.  Cheers all.
