  1. Viruk, like Franchutte said, amazing. I am staring at the details trying to figure out how you did them. The blending on the metal and around the wing 'fingers' is fantastic! I am in awe.
  2. My March entry: the rogue necromancy at 10 SS. Please don't look at the feathers. The two in the background were already started (barely) and so they came along for the ride unofficially. Two painting workshops this weekend at Adepticon, so it should be a great April for painting with some new knowledge.
  3. Here is my 5--10 SS for March: the rogue necromancy. My gosh now that I have used this model on the table I just love it. It has everything, even feathers to paint. Egad, I hate painting feathers. I must figure out how to get better photos that somehow show less. The two models in the background were not part of my monthly committment, but they did need to get finished and so tagged along. This challenge is really a fantastic idea, and is going to help clear the backlog. I am having fun painting alongside everyone. Okay, Agrilushunter---let's see the Valedictorian!
  4. Here, here! Where's the Val. Agrilushunter?
  5. Love the glow on the eyes and hollow trunk, Gauner!
  6. I take him just to say the names of his upgrades in a game. He is great fun, and I take him.
  7. Here's work in progress on my March entry. I now have two mini's I am working on in parallel with this one as well. I think I am a bit over half done, with some of the details done but lots of work remaining on the main textures. Man, there are a lot of different textures going on in this mini---it's a bit intimidating for a newb like me. The wounds are very well sculpted, and they are holding paint in nice ways to allow the structure to come out---like the goat's neck vertebrae. PS: Come on, AgrilusHunter---we all want to see the Valedictorian!
  8. Very nice, Luchs! That syringe that the red nurse is holding is great---even the hollow end of the pointy-bit looks great.
  9. My entry for March. Desperately need some ranged action in my Marcus beast crew. Saw a good idea above about also using this challenge as an excuse/motiviation to finish up a partly done model every month idea---great idea, ..., someone! I'll be doing the same, and maybe posting a photo of both, making it obvious which is the challenge model of the month and which is the sidekick. I really needed this kick in the rear to get going.
  10. Amazing lineup of events. Well done, shadow! Wish I could get there before Friday Eve. Still, it'll be great!
  11. After having looked up some photographs online rather than going by memory, I will concede and agree with the above. The fructicose lichen will work much better than my suggestion of steel wool. I initially thought that the width of the lichen 'branches' compared to the diameter of the whole tumbleweed would be too great, but it actually looks like this could be pretty close. It looks like that wreath has both lichen and moss on it. I would use the lichen. It is also super-cool to think that it is an inter-kingdom symbiotic organism, like us having green patches loaded with chlorophyll for eating sunlight---how Malifaux is that?
  12. Piano wire through the whole thing. You can get very thin but very strong and rigid lengths of labelled diameter, and buy a matching drillbit. If the chair had a few round bars in the back, you could pass wire through a hollow one and into the foot.
  13. My initial and completely untested thought is to use a few strands of steel wool rolled loosely into a sphere? Might try it this weekend, now.
  14. I'll be there! So glad Wyrd will be present. A few of us coming up from Purdue-land.
  15. I've been thinking of joining in something like this to give myself a hobby goal. This will make it that much more enjoyable. Signing up at enforcer level. Thanks Vaiuri for doing the work. Looking forward to painting alongside everyone.
  16. I love it. It is truly a great day for entomologist-arcanists everywhere. Wyrd has done an awesome job getting the morphology of spiders into this model. For those who miss the buzz saw, just add a clock gear to the electrode-thingee. I think I will do this. <entomologist> Arachnids have chelicerae, not mandibles. I know, doesn't matter. </entomologist>.
  17. Flat Con was great! I will be there next year if I can make it work. Thanks JsKrush for all the planning and logistics. The tables were great (very nice laser-cut mdf terrain), the other players were all good sports and fun to play, and everything went off without a hitch, as far as I could tell. I learned a lot by playing so many different people and factions in a short period, and have some new things to try or refine on the table. Cheers, prof_bycid
  18. Yes, I have a concern, but it is more of a 'coming up with an excuse for missing this week's game' kind of thing. :-)
  19. Signed up and looking forward to it! FacelessOne, I am not fond of your avatar, don't need to see that, ..., thing across the table from me at the Sage's Shoppe anytime soon. :-) Then again, I'm an Arcanist with an Outcast avatar, so who am I to judge?
  20. Cool---two months notice! I will start working to be there, and will see how many of the Laf/West Laf IN crowd I can drag along. Cheers!
  21. OdinFH, you probably want to submit this question through the Contact Us link on the online store site. Just saw Justin reply to an order question with this advice. Saved you some typing Justin.
