  1. There are more than 30 first place icons in the current rankings. Plus 2nds and 3rds will make a nice big pool of eligible people. 60 or so at least. Definitely bigger and more insane than the masters! It also is more inclusive to people that can't travel to big tournaments every other weekend, but still win the smaller ones at home (speaking from a Scottish perspective here).
  2. Markfield if I'm not mistaken. East of Coalville towards Lestah.
  3. Yeah, it sounds like fun! If enough people are around there will be enough things to do for those being out. That is probably my only concern - some people might travel quite far for the possibility of two games and bam, go home! But with either boardgames around, random Malifaux games, or story encounters, everyone can be entertained I assume. The draw things seems like an elegant solution, and I can't think of anything better or different.
  4. Hm, interesting question. To me, that amount would make it a probably not very enjoyable weekend of tense gambling with way better odds than any lottery can offer. But that is not the reason I play the game in the first place, and I'd rather keep it that way. And I'm not just afraid of "other people" being dicks, I'm afraid my own attitude could change as well. I don't say it will for certain, but I'm not confident enough to say I won't care if I win or lose if there is a significant amount of money involved.
  5. Well, I'd be up for anything, and so are the other guys staying at the Travelodge I assume. If I get a list of interested people I (or Joel, if he wants to organise even more for that weekend) can book a table?
  6. I like the idea and concept, but I'm not a fan of prize money.
  7. Is there anything planned for Saturday evening? And if not who would be interested and where to go? Same as last year (I liked the pubby and relaxed atmosphere where jumping tables and talking to everyone was easy) or someplace else?
  8. I know that some of my Scottish subjects plan on attending as well, should be fun! On a related note, the Scottish GT will happen July 23/24. There'll be an announcement soon.
  9. Paid now, looking forward to some frosty gaming. I might come in my skiing clothes depending on weather..
  10. Bought a ticket now, looking forward to this. No to sort out travel..
  11. Greg and I will bring the "Deadly Viper Assassination Squad" along. Be very, very scared...
  12. A clearer result maybe, but if time is short I prefer 3 rounds to have some time to chat etc. in between. Results are not everything, fun is more important (to me at least).
  13. Most important question: what colour will this year's scheme marker have? I don't mind 3 or 4 rounds, probably prefer 4 if the venue opens early enough and doesn't want to kick us out too early (to keep a relaxed schedule)
  14. reading the rules pack, I noticed... ALL THE TURF WAR!!! ...was this on purpose?
  15. I will be at the Masters, consider me confirmed.
  16. It was announced on Twitter that tickets for LoEH go live on the bedyboards site at 4pm today.
  17. Do we really think 5 games in one day is doable? I don't, 4 games is usually straining enough, and we're there for some kind of social aspect as well. We're looking at 12 hours with breaks here...?
  18. Interested as well, provided I can sort travel and such.
  19. I second James' summary. Also, we should make a decision soon (at least as the timings for the season are concerned - before January). The thread has been up a while now, and everyone can post their opinion, but we can't wait forever, it'll either die down or it will get repetitive, both not very helpful directions. If Greg (or anyone else) has new input, THEN POST HERE instead of talking to single people. Edit: I thought as well about groups of 5, but with 4 games two wins and two losses is very possible, what is way less elegant than two wins getting you further. But if people are happy 4 games and with VP diff playing a bigger role than wins, it's certainly a possibility. It makes match-ups and groups a bigger deal as well. For these reasons I'm for keeping it at 16.
  20. As I said before, I like the idea and if we have a Champion of Champions event and Joel wants me to, then I'd run a story event parallel which is open to everyone and catches all the knock-outs. So everyone is guaranteed a full day of gaming.
  21. Yay, that's my birthday. I'm in!
