  1. Welcome to the forums! There's really no advice I can offer that isn't already on the wiki (http://pullmyfinger.wikispaces.com/) From personal experience an austringer is great for any guild crew. Perhaps others will have more for you when it's not so late at night.
  2. Semi-off topic but I would like to some new / more holiday encounters. Those that have been released in the past are a lot of fun!
  3. I really like the color scheme here! Extra kudos for sharing your color choices, too. Did you have anything in mind for a proxy?
  4. I believe the clarification comes from "Damage Resolution" - Step one of which states "Total the damage being inflicted". I could be wrong, however. Looking forward to an offical ruling on this.
  5. Thanks for the great write-up! I was a little concerned I'd be too busy punching the air and making possibly racist kung-fu sounds to learn anything myself.
  6. I picked up a hanging tree and I can be added to whatever list there might be of people that are pleased with it. It's a great terrain piece, 2 models I was going to pick up anyways, and another good example of Wyrd's amazing sense of humor. Plus even if I don't use it as a "Hanging Tree" I can always use it as an "awesome tree". I find it a bit strange there's a thread like this in the first place, though. Of course there are going to be some models people aren't going to buy: it's a miniatures game. Of course there are going to be some models people don't find value in: it's a miniatures game. It's not as if anywhere in the rule book it says "If you don't have the real hanging tree you lose". I give props to Wyrd for another great sculpt that worked for me. And acknowledge it doesn't necessarily work for everyone else.
  7. Deadlands would be a good place to start. It has some rules for cards instead of dice rolls for certain things and takes place in a western/horror setting. It has a foothold in Gurps and Wildlands. Was thinking about using it to run a Malifaux RPG a few weeks ago.
  8. I know at my local hobby shop we had been fondly calling him "Not Alex Mercer".
  9. He's almost the only "Master" I play so I figured I'd put in my two cents. Collodi has a few things going for him that make him very powerful however it's understandable were the confusion around his play-style may be. In order to take advantage of Poison from the wicked dolls you are correct, he would need to have activated after the wicked dolls. Since they aren't very sturdy this usually is not going to be the case. I usually advance him slowly in turns one and two. I take two stitched together and advance him and the wicked dolls behind them using them as a screen. Collodi takes these slow turns to cast Filled With Stones and if Zorida or the Weaver widow tagged along they pump out dolls (or Zorida can find a juicy target for her totem or fly to a far off objective). During this time I also focus on getting my hand where I need it to be (because Collodi does need a lot of hand help for his def flips or if he needs a high-priority target dealt with). There are two hopes here: The first being that the other player miscalcualtes Collodi's threat range (which I find happens a lot if you take it slow at least during the first round). The Second being that you build up a good enough hand to take a lot of risks. Thats what works for me, anyways. If theres anything I can clarify or any questions I can answer feel free to let me know (= ---------- Post added at 05:41 PM ---------- Previous post was at 05:37 PM ---------- Doll Show does affect all friendly Dolls, so you are correct.
