I personally love the first wretch, it has the feel that it burst from a bloody hell to consume all in its path. Not too many people like the gloss look but I personally think it fits the wretches.

I love the pink shirt. I could totally see gremlins running around in pink clothes. And they all look great.

Well they probably would have taken you the clipping mask route. Which I use only if it is not a full color background because you will spend minutes trying to select every color with the magic wand tool. But if you have anymore questions feel free ti pm me. Resizing is easy, just make sure her layer is selected. Then go to edit, free transform. It should bring up a box around her with four squares on the corners. Then hold shift and grab a box and drag it in or out to change her size. Then when you got it make sure to hit the checkmark at the top to keep it.

It should cut the background out for ya.
