  1. Marcus' Alpha spell allows him to "immediately activate an enemy beast, or it recieves Reactivates if it has already activated..." Is the Reactivate resolved immediately like the activate option, or does Marcus then wait to Reactivate the model in the normal turn sequence like one of his friendly models?
  2. Wow, never paid attention to the "different" word in there. So does this mean the Marcus can not do Wild Heart twice to get different effects because it is the "same" action but just giving a different effect? And how bout a spell that you attempt and fail, can you have a second crack at it or is that the same action as well?
  3. Had this one come up yesterday in a game. If a Stiched is reduced to 0Wds before its activation it triggers Does Not Die and remains on 1 Wd but hasn't yet activated so does not get Reactivate. During it's activation it kills a Silent One who shatters and causes 2 Wds on the Stiched. Does Not Die is currently in effect on the model. So, which of the following happens: - Nothing and the Stitched continues it's activation and remains on 1 Wd as Does Not Die is in effect? - Does Not Die triggers again and because the Stitched has activated this turn it now gains Reactivate? Cheers legends.
  4. The issue is that Talents can reference both a Characteristic and/or a Name. For instance a Wicked Doll's Doll House ability references Names (Zoraida, Bad Juju and Wicked Dolls) while it's Stitchwork ability references a Characteristic (Doll). My feeling would be that a talent using the word Silurid is referencing both a Characteristic and/or a Name, so having either fulfils the requirements. In the case of a Witchling Handler, she does not have Witchling as either a Characteristic or a Name (it's part of her name but it's not her full name), so therefore isn't effected by talents targeting Witchlings. Which brings up a quandary: Are Special Forces(Dolls) considered to have the Characteristic Doll? I would assume so otherwise Collodi would be a bit average?
  5. It's a little confusing for us new players actually. Buried is under the "Models in Play vs. Out of Play" section but is worded as if it is a state, i.e. that model is buried. How you become buried/unburied I'd assume is a type of movement? Become buried by "remove from play" and become unburied by "placing"? Not sure, hence the query So anyway, I'm guessing that means "No, abilities that prevent a model being moved and/or placed do not prevent a model being Buried"? All good either way.
  6. Does Lady J's Riposte defensive trigger work if she is not in melee range of the model attacking her, given it's using her Greatsword? I.e. A Waldgiest hits her from 7 inches away as she is touching a forest base he is also touching. Misaki uses her Wind spell to give her a 6 inch melee range etc.
  7. Does the Bury mechanic count as a movement and/or placement effect and therefore can it be in anyway stopped? For example, Rasputina casts Freeze Over on a piece of terrain with a Soul Stone Miner touching it. Can the Miner choose to use it's Tunneling ability to become Buried? Same as if an Ice Golem used Statue, could a Death Marshall then use Pine Box to Bury it? Cheers
  8. At what point does the Slow effect remove the 1 general AP in an activation? For instance the Flesh Golem example above, the Dumb rule says "At the start of the activation" while Slow removes a general AP either in the "current or next activation, whichever comes first". So, is it: 1. Flesh Golem activates > Slow kicks in and removes 1 general AP and removes Slow > Dumb kicks in and if you don't discard a card you gain Slow which then removes 1 general AP as it is your current activation, leaving 0 general AP, or 2. Flesh Golem activates > Dumb kicks in and if you don't discard a card you gain Slow> The two Slows kick in and removes 1 general AP and removes both Slows? And what happens if you don't have a general AP to pay but you receive Slow in you current activation? I.e. I use my last general AP to make a melee attack against an Ice Golem who triggers Chills and gives me Slow. I have no general AP and it's my current activation (because I want to perform my 0 action next) so does Slow simply get removed or does it carry over until I can pay the 1 general AP?
  9. So the Austringer's Raptor "...ignores cover and LoS" and the Silurid's silent ability means models can not "ignore cover". In the PullmyFinger post for the Silurid it specifically says that the Austringers have to have LoS to attack them. Is this correct? As I would have thought cover and LoS were two seperately things?
  10. So when hexing a trigger like Critical Strike on a Death Marshal, which is a trigger with the name of two weapons in it, does the one hex remove the trigger from both weapons or just one?
  11. Yeah that's why I'm confused I guess. That and the fact that bodyguard has the specification that two models equals one but assassinate doesn't? Also this was the only previous thread about assassinate I could find http://www.wyrd-games.net/showthread.php?20897-Assassinate-the-Dreamer/page3&highlight=viktorias%26quot%3B%2B%26quot%3Bscheme But yeah, makes sense to have it consistent across all schemes and strategies. Just means that Slaughter is the only "objective" that counts them as two separate models (each model counts as 6ss instead of a single master counting as 10ss.) Would be good if the wording was the same across all of them though, would stop the confusion
  12. Hi all. I'm a bit confused by how the strategies and schemes work that target a master when playing with the Viktorias or the Dreamer. There are 3 schemes in question that I'm specifically talking about, Assassinate, Bodyguard and Steal Relic. Firstly, the strategy Contain Power is pretty clear in that it says "all your opponent's leaders are no longer in the game". From this I'd assume that you need to kill both Viks or both the Dreamer and LCB to score. Easy Second, Assassinate and Bodyguard say to "...make a note of one of your opponent's Masters or Henchmen." In the Bodyguard scheme only, it goes on to say that "Multiple model Leaders are considered to be one selection in regards to this scheme." This line is not in Assassinate. So from that, I'd assume for assassinate you choose one of the two models as the target and score if that one model is killed, but for bodyguard you choose both models and score if you have either left on the table? Third, Steal Relic says that you target "...your opponent's Master...", with no other specifications regarding one model or multiple models. So I'm unsure if you announce one model out of the two as the target to interact with or do you announce that either/or is the target? Very confusing... Cheers.
  13. Cool, so best do it first or you don't get the Ram bonus to strikes. Cheers
  14. Hey team, played my second game yesterday. Got 2 (very specific!) questions about the Waldgeist: 1. Uproot: It says "Place target woods terrain up to 5" away." How does that work? Is it: a. anywhere fully within 5" from where the terrain was previously? b. anywhere within 5" from where the terrain was previously? c. anywhere fully within 5" of the Waldgeist? d. anywhere within 5" of the Waldgeist? e. some other 5"? and when placing it I'm assuming you can change it's orientation? 2. Entangle: It says "defender... cannot move or be moved out of base contact with the terrain piece." Does this mean: a. Defender cannot perform any movement actions during their activation, and in addition the defender may not be moved out of base contact with the terrain piece, OR b. Defender may not leave base contact with the terrain piece, either by performing a move action or being affected by another model's talents or abilities. They may still perform move actions within the terrain piece. Crazy english language huh!
  15. The spell says "...until the End Closing Phase, or until the target is no longer in their model's melee range". So how do you choose which of those it is? Is it whichever comes first, whichever comes last, caster's choice? Cheers!
  16. But even if he did come back wouldn't he be immediately removed anyway, given there's not a friendly "Marcus" on the board, only a friendly Avatar? Is that how it's meant to work?
  17. Hi guys, played my first game of Malifaux the other night and I used Marcus which was cool. Just want to make sure I've got this whole (0) action thing right. If I use (0) Wild Heart (which counts as one of my two (0) actions given he has instinctual) and choose the Tiger option, does performing Tiger then count as his second (0) action? Cheers!
  18. Hi Vitriol, had my first game of Malifaux today and this exact question came up. The points you've listed there don't specifically say you can use a soulstone to modify a damage flip. So is the damage flip a type of "duel" vs a target number (of which there are multiple target numbers) or is a duel a completely different thing to a flip? Because I guess if the damage flip is a type of duel then using soulstones is fine. If they're something different then can you use soulstones? Cheers mate!
